There's a Mole!

Yue Shi drove, relentlessly pursuing the SUV ahead.

Beside him, Bai Wanyang made a call. He wanted to ask Ling Xun if Bai Qingyu, who was supposed to be in custody at the Investigation Bureau, had escaped.

If Bai Qingyu hadn't escaped, Bai Wanyang felt there was a high probability that either his "twin sister theory" or his "vengeful mother with plastic surgery theory" was true.

While Bai Wanyang was on the phone, Yue Shi couldn't hear what the person on the other end was saying. He only noticed that Bai Wanyang's face darkened abruptly, his brow furrowing as fury pooled in his eyes.

After hanging up, Bai Wanyang's voice was tinged with gloom as he said to Yue Shi, "It's confirmed. Bai Qingyu did indeed break out of prison."

"Hmph," Yue Shi narrowed his eyes slightly. "I cut off Bai Qingyu's limbs myself. For her to escape alone would be next to impossible. Someone must be helping her."

"And if they were able to smuggle her out of the Investigation Bureau so smoothly, does that mean there's a mole in the Bureau?"

Bai Wanyang sneered. "You're right. There is a mole. That idiot Zhu Qunqing ran off with Bai Qingyu late last night!"

"What?" Yue Shi was stunned. "The Investigation Bureau was still kept in the dark this morning? We didn't receive any notification when we set out."

Bai Wanyang gave a helpless huff. "According to Ling Xun, Zhu Qunqing used his authority to deceive the guards. The Bureau only discovered her escape ten minutes ago."

"I finally have a concrete understanding of what it means to be 'blinded by lust.' Back at the school when we were dealing with the Bee Woman, Zhu Qunqing was constantly indecisive just because she was pretty, causing the situation to deteriorate further. Now he's at it again. Fucking... damn it!"

Yue Shi said, "They probably haven't confirmed the reason why Zhu Qunqing betrayed the Bureau and helped her escape yet. You're already assuming it's because of her looks?"

"Based on what I know of Zhu, her looks were definitely the main factor," Bai Wanyang said with a look of disdain. "Plus, he's been quite sidelined in the Bureau lately. That might have contributed to his betrayal as well."

Yue Shi fell silent for a few seconds before speaking. "Zhu Qunqing was once suspected of having a thing with a Bee Woman, and now he's rescued Bai Qingyu. Do you think all these parties have colluded with each other?"

Bai Wanyang's eyes widened, clearly shocked by Yue Shi's bold speculation. However, he quickly realized it made a lot of sense.

"If Zhu Qunqing leaked the news that the Investigation Bureau was sending people to track the Queen Bee, it would explain why we were intercepted halfway."

Yue Shi added, "The monsters that surrounded us earlier were clearly from the Bee Woman, but the sniper rifle might be a different story. Considering Bai Qingyu is nearby, that sniper hiding in the shadows might be someone she brought along."

"Bai Qingyu hates me the most, which is why every shot from the sniper was aimed at me. Even when you got out of the car and were in a more vulnerable position, the bullets still targeted me."

Bai Wanyang fell into thought, finding the reasoning sound and without holes. "The situation has become complicated. What a pain."

Yue Shi's lips curled into a smile. "It's not a pain. This just means I can take care of them all at once."

The two vehicles sped along, one after the other. Yue Shi refused to let the SUV ahead out of his sight.

Suddenly, several people ran out from both sides of the road, charging straight toward Yue Shi's car as if trying to block it with their bodies.

Yue Shi completely ignored them, maintaining his top speed.

Anyone who dared to try and block the car was sent flying.

Even so, the Investigation Bureau's vehicle was inevitably slowed down slightly, and the SUV ahead began to pull away.

Bai Wanyang rolled down the window and fired an Energy Cannon. The spinning blue sphere of light shot toward the SUV, but it only blasted a crater into the vehicle's body.

"It's no use. That car is moving too fast. Relative to it, my Energy Cannon isn't fast enough. At this distance, the power will dissipate. If I can close the gap to within fifteen meters, I should be able to blow their tires."

But the distance between the two cars was only growing. How could they get within fifteen meters?

Two dark shadows suddenly descended from the sky. They were the two Shadow Soldier ravens Yue Shi had released earlier.

The windows of the SUV weren't made of bulletproof glass like the Bureau's specialized vehicle. One raven smashed through a window, and the other seized the opportunity to dive inside.

Under the ravens' harassment, the SUV's speed dropped abruptly.

Yue Shi quickly caught up. As the distance closed, Bai Wanyang reached out the window again and fired another Energy Cannon.

The SUV's rear tire blew, and the vehicle began to swerve wildly. The ravens continued to harass the driver.

By the time Bai Qingyu eliminated the ravens, the SUV was completely out of control. The entire vehicle crashed into a row of dilapidated brick houses by the roadside, smashing through several walls before barely coming to a stop.

A massive cloud of dust billowed up, obscuring the SUV. Yue Shi immediately slammed on the brakes and hopped out, running toward the wreckage.

But when he drew near, he found the SUV empty. Both the driver and Bai Qingyu were gone.

The sound of a motorcycle starting up came from nearby. Yue Shi looked toward the noise and saw a man in a baseball cap riding a motorcycle with Bai Qingyu on the back.

Bai Qingyu clung to the man's waist, not forgetting to turn back and provocatively flip Yue Shi the bird.

The motorcycle veered into an alley, twisting and turning before quickly vanishing from sight.

The Investigation Bureau's vehicle clearly couldn't enter such a narrow alleyway, so Yue Shi hurriedly summoned two ravens from the shadows to give chase.

He didn't know how Bai Qingyu had managed to regrow her limbs in such a short time, but he knew he couldn't leave such a loose end!

The ravens had locked onto the target; he'd let her enjoy her moment of triumph for just a little longer...

Back in the car, Yue Shi said with regret, "They got away."

Bai Wanyang comforted him, "Zhu Qunqing is capable, and that woman Bai Qingyu is no pushover. It's normal that they wouldn't be caught so easily."

"Hmm? The driver in the baseball cap was Zhu Qunqing?" Yue Shi only realized it after hearing Bai Wanyang's words.

"You didn't recognize him?" Bai Wanyang asked in surprise.

"I'm not that familiar with him," Yue Shi shrugged. "No wonder his back looked familiar earlier."
