By the time Olivia and Rose left the theater, night had already fallen.
Stars dotted the sky and lights glittered below, as if the heavens and the earth had melded into one.
They returned to Daylight Cathedral.
Upon their return, Olivia noticed the cathedral was in a state of chaos, with people hurrying back and forth.
“What happened?” Olivia stopped someone to ask.
The nun who was stopped glanced at Olivia and quickly offered a respectful greeting before saying, “I heard that some dragon monsters have appeared in the world and are destroying everything. We need to quickly organize support units to go to the damaged areas and provide aid.”
Dragons?
Monsters?
Seeing that the nun didn't know much more, Olivia let her go back to her duties.
She simply asked the magic mirror in her mind.
‘Magic mirror, magic mirror, what did that nun mean by dragon monsters?’
【Not long ago, several dragons that had long been missing chased Guinevere out of the Dragon's Nest and appeared in the main world, where they are now wreaking havoc.】
Missing dragons?
Chasing Guinevere?
Olivia knew immediately that this was no simple matter.
Guinevere was a Protagonist of the Era just like her, and she had already become an Evolver. For an Evolver of such strength to be hunted...?
Just how terrifying was the power of those dragons?
She continued to ask the magic mirror about the dragons, but the more she learned, the more confused she became.
The magic mirror knew about events in the main world, but it knew nothing of what transpired within the alternate space of the Dragon's Nest.
Whatever had happened inside the Dragon's Nest remained a mystery even to the mirror.
However, the bizarre forms and frenzied state of the dragons appearing in the main world were enough for the mirror to make certain judgments.
The magic mirror told Olivia that all the dragons had undergone a strange modification.
Under this modification, the dragons' bodies had become grotesque, but their combat power had been significantly enhanced. Every dragon was exceptionally formidable, even horrific.
None of these dragons could be handled by anyone below a high-level class rank transcendent; even an Evolver would find them extremely difficult to deal with.
The information from the magic mirror left Olivia deep in thought.
Who on earth could have modified these dragons?
Dragons, as mythical creatures, were a powerful race that usually had to be looked up to.
Why would such a powerful race suffer a collective issue?
What kind of existence could cause such a problem for such a powerful race?
At that thought, Olivia's brow furrowed slightly.
As Olivia was thinking, Ivy walked out quickly from within the cathedral.
“Olivia, you’re back just in time.” Ivy’s expression was exceptionally grave as she walked over. “A major problem has arisen within the empire, and we need the help of the strong.”
She briefly explained the dragon riot.
“Many dragons have appeared on this continent—and not just within our empire. They are causing chaos all over the world. We must deal with them as soon as possible, or the losses they cause will be too great.
“Currently, almost all the church's powerhouses have been mobilized to handle these dragons across various regions.
“However, the number of dragons is far greater than imagined, so you need to take action as well.
“You will be responsible for this area. Is that all right?
“If you really can't handle it, inform the church.”
As Ivy spoke, she pulled out a map of the Holy Kelidos Empire and pointed to a specific region.
Olivia replied without hesitation, “Of course. I’ll take Rose with me.”
Ivy nodded.
Rose was not a member of the church and her state was abnormal, so she couldn't be placed under the church's direct command. Staying with Olivia was the best choice.
Therefore, the area the church assigned to Olivia was actually of a higher difficulty level, as it took Rose's power into account.
“There’s no time to lose, Olivia. We must move quickly, or many more will die,” Ivy said solemnly.
“I understand,” Olivia replied with equal gravity.
These abnormal, rioting dragons were indiscriminately destroying everything.
With their power, they could level a city in an instant. People were dying every second.
At a time like this, the church had to act swiftly.
Taking the map and leading Rose by the hand, Olivia flew directly into the sky, heading rapidly toward her destination.
To be honest, it was quite far away, almost at the edge of the Holy Kelidos Empire.
Flying through the air, she checked the map and rubbed her temples.
“I thought life had entered a peaceful period, but then something like this happens.”
According to her original plan, her next step was to use the magic mirror to track down and eliminate heretical organizations one by one.
That was something that could be done at a measured pace.
But the appearance of the dragons had disrupted her plans. She had to deal with them first because they were causing destruction and slaughter, making them a much higher threat.
“Rose, you’ll have to come with me. We might face some terrifying battles. Are you afraid?”
Olivia asked Rose.
Rose pursed her lips and shook her head. “Although dragons sound very scary, I’m not too worried as long as I’m with Sister Olivia. I believe you can protect me.”
Olivia’s expression turned a bit odd at those words.
She was only an Evolver.
Rose was already a Destroyer.
You, a Destroyer, are expecting me, an Evolver, to protect you?
Is something mixed up here?
“Rose, you are very strong yourself. In fact, you are stronger than me,” Olivia had to remind her.
Rose blinked innocently. “I heard you and the others talking about transcendents before, and I know I have a high class rank, but I don't have any combat experience. I don't know if I can use my power well in a fight.”
“It’s okay. When the time comes to fight, just do whatever feels most natural to you,” Olivia said with a smile.
Rose could only nod.
She could also see that she would likely need to fight soon, which was why Olivia was telling her this.
Since Sister Olivia needed her help, she would have to do her best.
