Gradually, the sky brightened once more.
As a sliver of golden morning light spilled over the city below, Olivia's expression became exceptionally grave.
It could no longer be called a city; it was a field of ruins.
Before her eyes lay nothing but broken walls and crumbled pillars—a scene of pure desolation.
There was no telling how many people had died here.
Of course, because the dragons did not specifically target individuals, many had still managed to survive.
These survivors were now walking through the wreckage, searching for their families and friends.
The sound of weeping joined together, permeating the ruins.
Seeing such a scene, even Olivia felt a pang of bitterness in her heart.
She had hurried here as fast as she could, but there were some things she still hadn't been able to prevent in time.
“Sister, they're so pitiful,” Rose couldn't help but say.
Olivia sighed, then looked in another direction.
On the plains in the distance, a convoy of people was rapidly approaching. They were the church's support units.
The support units were not meant to fight dragons; they were only there to provide aid in the aftermath.
Since the relief efforts had arrived, Olivia did not linger. She led Rose and continued flying toward her destination.
She knew where the nearest dragon was, and she knew that this city's destruction had been caused by that very dragon.
Before long, Olivia flew over a high mountain.
This mountain was currently split by a massive rift, and within that great gap, a colossal form lay resting.
However, Olivia's arrival seemed to have been detected, causing the massive figure to open its eyes and look up at her.
The massive figure had a pitch-black body covered in dense scales, dragon wings, and a tail.
But it had nine heads, each of a different color, as if the heads of nine different dragons had all been stitched onto a single body.
This gave it a grotesque appearance, filled with a sense of madness.
The dragon looked up at Olivia, its dozen or so eyes filled with frenzy, devoid of even a shred of reason.
“Roar!”
With a roar, the void shook violently, and tangible ripples began to rapidly close in on Olivia in concentric circles.
This caused Olivia's pupils to contract.
This dragon seemed to be the one that had initially hunted Guinevere Frost.
After Guinevere Frost escaped, the dragon had lost its target and began to move aimlessly, eventually arriving at this place.
However, Guinevere Frost could not be blamed for the dragon riot.
According to what the magic mirror had told her, once these dragons appeared, they would not stay within the Dragon's Nest. They would wander everywhere, and it was only a matter of time before they reached the main world.
By investigating the Dragon's Nest, Guinevere Frost had actually discovered the situation early.
As she saw the massive ripples sweeping toward them, Olivia's hand rapidly enlarged, positioning itself in front of her and Rose. She used her extraordinarily tough right hand to block the ripple attack.
The numerous ripples struck her palm and vanished without a trace, failing to cause even a slight disturbance.
Seeing this, the dragon immediately flapped its wings and took flight, its massive body appearing in the high sky like a dark cloud.
As soon as it ascended, the dragon opened its mouths and spat out streaks of blinding light.
The nine dragon heads fired destructive light beams simultaneously, enveloping Olivia within them.
This dragon already possessed power no less than that of a Destroyer.
“Rose, now!”
Olivia hurriedly shouted.
Rose was taken aback for a moment.
Her? She was going in?
How was she supposed to do that again?
Faced with the incoming beams of light, Rose couldn't help but feel a bit anxious. She gave a sharp cry and threw a punch through the air with her delicate, fair fist.
In the next instant, endless gales swept out along with Rose's movement, forming an invisible barrier in front of them.
The numerous beams of light slammed into the barrier, unable to break through and continue their path.
But a moment later, the nine-headed dragon charged forward itself. Its massive body slammed into them from the mountain like a battering ram, striking the invisible barrier and causing cracks to rapidly appear in the void ahead.
Then, like a mirror shattering, the void itself crumbled. The nine-headed dragon charged through, crashing toward Olivia and Rose.
“This guy is so strong!” Rose couldn't help but cry out.
Seeing this, Olivia grabbed Rose and used a teleportation to vanish from the spot.
She had already expanded her King's Domain and teleported to a position where they wouldn't be affected.
Failing to hit the two of them, the nine-headed dragon crashed headlong into the mountain peaks below. With a thunderous boom, the entire mountain trembled.
The mountain split apart, and countless fragments of rock flew through the air in a grand and terrifying display.
Before the nine-headed dragon could get back up, Olivia extended her hand. Her arm rapidly lengthened and her palm expanded until her hand was as massive as the nine-headed dragon itself. With a loud bang, she pinned the dragon down, preventing it from rising.
Seeing this, Rose's eyes also glowed with a red light. A powerful aura of dominance emerged from her, acting upon the nine-headed dragon and suppressing it on a mental level.
With Olivia suppressing its body and Rose suppressing its mind, the two-pronged approach caused the nine-headed dragon to tremble incessantly, leaving it unable to stand.
This suppression seemed to cause a change within the nine-headed dragon.
In one of its black heads, the madness within its pupils began to recede, revealing a small amount of clarity.
“Why is it like this? Why is it like this? How did I become like this?”
The black head emitted a sorrowful voice.
This surprised Olivia. She quickly asked the magic mirror what was going on.
Hadn't these dragons all lost their consciousness?
【Under the intense suppression, an anomaly has occurred within the nine-headed dragon before you. One head has regained a small portion of its memories, but this is only temporary.】
Almost as soon as the magic mirror's answer was given, the black dragon head fell back into madness, letting out a deafening roar.
The nine-headed dragon struggled continuously, trying to break free from the combined control of Olivia and Rose.
As the two sides locked in a stalemate, a destructive aura continued to permeate the space between heaven and earth.
‘Magic mirror, magic mirror, is there any way to make the nine-headed dragon conscious again so I can find out exactly what happened in the Dragon's Nest?’
Olivia hurriedly asked in her mind.
