“Purify me?”
Elliot sneered immediately upon hearing her words.
No matter how she had learned about his situation, purifying him was no simple task.
He had already reached a true peak, standing at the very top of all transcendents. He was not someone who could be defeated on a whim.
Elliot’s sneers continued. “How laughable. To think you actually harbor delusions of purifying me.
“You might have learned some information about me through some unknown channel, but I’m afraid what you know is outdated news.
“You have no idea how powerful and terrifying I have become.
“Of course, it’s not just you; I doubt anyone could have imagined it.
“In the short time since I fled the Kingdom of Dawn, I have actually taken that crucial step.
“Hahahaha!”
By the end, Elliot couldn't help but burst into laughter.
He strode forward, his eyes turning cold and grim. A powerful aura emanated from him, making everyone feel as if a mountain were pressing down on their chests, making it difficult to even breathe.
Rosalind swallowed hard and whispered to Olivia, “He really seems to have become an Evolver. Should we run?”
Olivia, of course, had no intention of running.
An Evolver? She had killed Evolvers even before she became one herself, so she naturally had nothing to worry about.
Despite the distance between them, Elliot heard Rosalind’s whisper, and a mocking expression appeared on his face.
“Run? Did I say you could leave? Every single one of you is staying here today.”
As soon as he finished speaking, Elliot’s figure blurred as he charged forward. He moved like a dark shadow, arriving before the group in an instant.
His speed was incredible—so fast that the others couldn't track his movements at all. Nor could they track the movement of him suddenly flying backward and being planted head-first into the soil.
Wait, planted head-first in the ground?
Both sides were stunned. In a mere flash, the situation on the battlefield had turned bizarre.
Elliot, who had been charging at Olivia and Rosalind, had somehow been sent reeling back. He was now stuck in the dirt with only his feet sticking out. The sight was as surreal as it was strange.
What had happened?
In that brief moment, what exactly had transpired?
Rosalind was standing close to Olivia and felt as though Olivia had raised a hand, but she hadn't seen it clearly. She looked over in confusion.
“Don’t worry. He’s just an Evolver,” Olivia said with a smile.
What did she mean by 'just' an Evolver?
The Evolver class rank was not low by any standard.
Could it be...
Rosalind seemed to reach a realization, her eyes widening as she stared at Olivia in disbelief.
In such a short time, had Sister Stella also advanced to become an Evolver?
At that moment, Elliot pulled himself out of the ground and glared at Olivia with an expression of pure disbelief.
Others might not have seen what happened, but as the one it happened to—and as an Evolver—he knew exactly what had occurred.
Just as he had reached Olivia, she had swung her hand. In that instant, her palm had expanded to a massive size and slammed into him, sending him flying.
It had happened in the blink of an eye, far too fast for the others to follow.
Shaking his head to clear it, Elliot gritted his teeth and looked at Olivia. “You... you’re an Evolver too?”
A commotion broke out among the spectators on both sides at Elliot’s words.
Olivia didn't respond. She drew her Sevenfold Dream Sword and began walking toward him, step by step.
Seeing this, Elliot decisively chose to strike first.
A red light flashed in his eyes as he raised his hands, a pitch-black aura swirling around him.
Immediately, waves of invisible energy spread out, acting upon Olivia.
It was a barrage of curses.
Fatigue Curse, Weakness Curse, Pain Curse, Sleep Curse, Suffocation Curse, Virus Curse...
In a matter of seconds, Elliot had layered over a dozen different curses onto Olivia.
Yet, even as the numerous curses struck her, Olivia’s pace didn't falter for a second. On the surface, she showed no signs of being affected at all as she continued to close in on him.
Seeing this, Elliot’s pupils constricted.
He abruptly changed his method of attack. With a wave of his hands, a massive swarm of bats materialized in front of him.
There were thousands of them, flapping their wings as they swarmed forward, quickly surrounding Olivia entirely.
Facing the swarm, Olivia swung the Sevenfold Dream Sword. Radiant, multi-colored sword light flickered around her, cutting down the bats as they approached.
Despite their numbers, the bats were slaughtered in an instant. As for the survivors, Elliot detonated them on the spot.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Accompanied by piercing explosions, the bats burst apart. Flesh and blood splattered everywhere, covering Olivia.
However, such an attack was naturally unable to harm her. In fact, the flying gore couldn't even touch her.
Olivia had activated her Stigmata Armor. A garment woven from what looked like starlight covered her, blocking all the splattered remains.
With a slight tremor of the Stigmata Armor, the blood and flesh clinging to it were shaken off.
But this explosion wasn't Elliot’s true trump card.
As the bats perished, Elliot pointed at the ground. The massive amount of bat blood fell under his control, rapidly converging to form a massive blood dragon.
Roar!
The blood dragon let out an earth-shaking roar.
Following the roar, the giant dragon raised a claw and swiped directly at Olivia.
Seeing the attack, a flash of light appeared on Olivia’s back as her Angel Wings unfurled.
With a slight tilt of her body, she vanished from the blood dragon’s sight, causing its strike to hit nothing but air.
Olivia had no intention of engaging in a long, drawn-out back-and-forth with Elliot.
Thus, she bypassed the blood dragon entirely. With a flap of her wings, she appeared directly in front of Elliot and thrust her sword toward him.
Elliot hadn't expected Olivia's movements to be so agile; in a mere heartbeat, she had arrived right before his eyes.
