Olivia spotted the traces of battle.
The marks on the ground were quite distinct, and judging by how fresh they were, the fight must have occurred not long ago.
Had Rosalind and her group run into trouble? Who were they fighting? Was it a danger from within the God's Ruins, or something else?
Olivia had a fairly good impression of that lady, so she followed the trail of the battle.
After pursuing for a while, she sensed the commotion of combat coming from ahead.
There was a barren mountain where several figures darted back and forth, clashing with one another as they unleashed their various transcendent abilities.
One side of the battle consisted of Rosalind and the others whom Olivia knew, while the other side was unfamiliar to her.
The current situation was not looking good for Rosalind’s side; they were being completely suppressed, and the state of the battle appeared exceptionally passive for them.
The enemy side hadn't even committed everyone to the fight. Some individuals stood far back with cold sneers, watching the scene with eyes full of amusement.
Swoosh!
Olivia did not hesitate for a moment and flew straight toward them.
Her arrival was impossible for anyone there to ignore.
“Sister Stella?”
Upon seeing Olivia appear, Rosalind and her companions cried out in surprise, their eyes widening as they stared at the nun who had entered the forbidden zone.
They had originally been traveling together, but once Olivia entered the forbidden zone of the Space-Time Disarray Valley, they hadn't dared to follow.
They had thought it would be difficult to ever see Sister Stella again in this lifetime, given that she had entered a forbidden zone.
They even assumed that even if she were lucky enough to emerge alive, their next meeting would likely be in the distant future.
However, they never expected that after such a short time, Sister Stella would appear before their eyes once more.
“What is happening here?” Olivia asked with a smile as she flew over and landed beside Rosalind.
Before Rosalind could speak, a sharp streak of sword light shot toward them, bringing both of them within its range of attack.
The words Rosalind wanted to say instantly turned into a warning: “Watch out!”
Rosalind shouted, preparing to intercept the sword light, but Olivia moved first.
She raised her left hand and swatted at the air, shattering the sword light from a distance before it could even get close.
This sight caused the pupils of a young man on the attacking side, who had been watching from the back, to suddenly constrict.
“Everyone, stop and pull back,” the young man commanded loudly.
Hearing his order, the side currently engaged in combat immediately retreated to the young man’s side.
Meanwhile, the other group retreated to stand beside Rosalind and Olivia.
Only then did Rosalind have the chance to explain the situation. “These guys are from the Kingdom of Dawn. The man leading them is Duke Elliot Devoncell.
“They’re here specifically for our Dawn Adventurer Group.
“During a commission we completed previously, we had a conflict of interest with this Duke, and so he began to view us as a thorn in his side.
“I just didn't expect that even after we came to explore the God's Ruins, they would actually chase us in here, intent on hunting us to the last man.”
Speaking of this, Rosalind’s expression turned complicated and filled with anger.
She whispered to Olivia that the commission the Dawn Adventurer Group had accepted was to find some missing children, which involved human traffickers.
After they found and dealt with the traffickers, they discovered a powerful backer standing behind them, supporting their trade for profit.
That backer was none other than the Duke of the Kingdom of Dawn, Elliot Devoncell!
Faced with such a discovery, the Dawn Adventurer Group chose to expose him, spreading word of Elliot’s crimes throughout the Kingdom of Dawn.
This news undoubtedly sparked public outrage across the kingdom. Countless nobles and commoners alike spoke out, forcing the kingdom to take action and sanction Elliot.
However, as a powerful Duke in his own right, Elliot naturally refused to wait for death. He immediately disappeared with his trusted subordinates and went into hiding.
No one expected that when Elliot reappeared, it would be here in the God's Ruins, and with a demeanor entirely different from before.
“A nun from the church?” Elliot looked quite young as he watched Olivia with a smile. “Do you intend to interfere in my business as well?”
He showed no sign of fearing Olivia, stepping forward a few paces with an unhurried, composed manner that barely concealed his murderous intent.
Regardless of whether she belonged to the Radiant Light Church, he would simply kill her and be done with it.
“Be careful. The current Elliot is different from before. He looks much younger, and I can feel a terrifying aura of dominance from him. I suspect he has become an Evolver,” Rosalind whispered a warning to Olivia.
At the same time, her heart was filled with despair. How long had it been since an Evolver was born in the Kingdom of Dawn? Why did one finally appear only for it to be someone like Elliot?
At that moment, Olivia silently consulted the magic mirror to understand Elliot’s situation.
“I see. So it’s those vampires from the Bloody Sickle. No wonder you were trafficking people; that is exactly the kind of thing they like to do,” Olivia spoke unhurriedly.
Upon hearing her words, the expressions of everyone present changed instantly.
“Elliot is connected to vampires?” Rosalind asked in shock.
The reputation of those vampires from the Bloody Sickle was atrocious in every nation; no one could simply ignore them.
Elliot was equally shocked. He had never revealed his identity to the outside world, nor had he displayed any vampire abilities. Why did this nun know his origins after just a single glance?
“Who exactly are you?” Elliot frowned, staring intently at Olivia.
“There is no need for you to know who I am. For a heretic like you, there is only one thing I must do, and that is to purify you.”
Olivia spoke calmly, her gaze turning dangerous.
