Chapter 365 · Volume 1

Visitors from Truth

A profound upheaval was occurring across the myriad worlds as a massive influx of world fragments crashed into other worlds.
Many worlds that had not yet given birth to the supernatural were awakened by this event, developing sentience similar to Blue Star's Heavenly Dao.
Once they gained sentience and gave birth to a world true spirit, they obtained the inheritance knowledge of the world race. They began to consume their own foundations, sharing power with the creatures within them to usher in an era of transcendence.
Then, they would direct the creatures within them to clear the world fragments, much like the humans of Blue Star clearing dungeons.
However, not all of these world wills chose the path taken by Blue Star's Heavenly Dao.
A portion of the world wills chose not to share the world origin with the creatures living within them. Instead, they chose another path: self-growth.
These world consciousnesses chose to exhaust all their world origin to enhance their own strength, choosing to clear and capture the world fragments themselves.
This particular situation was extremely rare because it contradicted the inheritance theory of the unique race known as worlds.
For a world consciousness that had awakened its sentience and birthed a world true spirit, the primary option should have been to follow the guidance of the world inheritance knowledge and nurture the creatures within.
This anomalous situation naturally caught the attention of the Truth Library.
Inside an internal staff lounge at the Truth Library that was closed to the public, the room was currently packed with employees.
Half of these employees were Truth Creations of various shapes and sizes, most of whom were crafted by the Great Sage. The other half consisted of the students who had followed the Great Sage in the past.
The Great Sage had suddenly vanished, leaving these students without his official recognition as graduates. Consequently, they had no choice but to remain in the library indefinitely.
Fortunately, the atmosphere in the library was relaxed and the work pressure was low. Moreover, with the Great Sage—their supreme leader—gone, they essentially had no direct supervisor.
Having no direct supervisor meant they didn't have to face KPI assessments or pressure from above.
Additionally, the Truth Library was a self-contained world. The employees were unaffected by the passage of time; regardless of their cultivation realm, they could work in the library forever.
When their shifts ended, they enjoyed generous vacation time, allowing them to leave the Truth Library and travel the myriad worlds for leisure.
“Ahem! Everyone, quiet down! Quiet down!”
A Truth Relic in the shape of a microphone stood on a table, looking down at the other employees below.
“I’ve gathered everyone here today because the Universal Mirror of Truth has detected some events in the myriad worlds that require investigation.
“Standard procedure: the investigation team will have two slots. One is fixed for the Truth Relic, Absolute Domain. Is anyone volunteering for the second slot?”
Clack! Clack!
The Axiom Core turned its gears and looked at the microphone.
“Little Trumpet, can you be a bit clearer for once? You do this every time.
“What happened, what needs to be investigated, the danger level, and the potential creatures involved—can you say all these necessary details in one go?
Clack! Clack!
“You’re usually the most talkative one during work hours, so why do you get so quiet at times like this?
“What, are you trying to act sophisticated just because Record Sister is watching?”
“Hahahaha!”
The lounge instantly filled with cheerful laughter as the Axiom Core finished speaking.
“You! You! Axiom Core, don’t talk nonsense!”
The microphone began to stammer, appearing as though its secret had been exposed.
“Alright, alright.”
A little green man hopped onto the table, patted the microphone, and spoke up to comfort it.
“Little Trumpet, don’t lower yourself to the Axiom Core's level.
“If you make it unhappy and it keeps clacking those gears, it might actually start spreading rumors about you and Record Sister everywhere.
“You should just hurry up and tell us what’s going on.”
“You... I... Sigh.”
The microphone sighed. With its weakness exposed, it could only yield.
“The Universal Mirror has observed a sudden surge in the concentration of Dao principles in the Cosmic Sea. A massive amount of world fragments are drifting through the Cosmic Sea, eroding quite a few worlds.
“Based on the fragments' trajectories, it speculates that the source of these world fragments should be the battlefields where Heaven and Hell were at a standoff. For some reason, they have been destroyed.
“As you know, the one in Heaven has always disliked being peered at by the Universal Mirror, even though he loves spying on others himself.
“So, the first task is to investigate exactly what happened at the battlefields between Heaven and Hell.”
“The first task? Then what’s the second?” the little green man asked quickly, resting his chin on his hand.
“See? You’re rushing again.”
The little green man didn’t speak, only looking toward the Axiom Core.
The Axiom Core immediately understood. The gears around its body began to turn, letting out a clacking sound.
“Ahem, the second task concerns the worlds.
“As you know, after world fragments invade a world, the rejection reaction causes the world to develop sentience and birth a world true spirit.
“But the Universal Mirror has observed that some of the newly birthed world true spirits are not operating according to the world inheritance knowledge. Instead, they are carving out a different path.”
“Carving out a new path? Isn't that normal? The supernatural level of the myriad worlds is rising. According to the Great Sage's theory, the birth of new paths is entirely understandable.”
“Yes, according to his theory, the appearance of a new path is reasonable. But is it reasonable for so many world true spirits to simultaneously move toward the same new path?”
“The same one?”
This news immediately caught everyone's attention. Everyone present sensed the scent of a conspiracy.
“I’ve finished delivering the message. So, who’s going?”
“Me! I’ll go!”
Missions like this that allowed for slacking off while away were always the most popular. Every administrator scrambled to volunteer.
The little green man thought for a moment before raising his slender hand and pressing down in the air.
“Quiet, quiet! Have you all forgotten? This mission involves those two big players, Heaven and Hell. It’s not like the easy tasks from before.
“When facing those two entities, no matter how strong Absolute Domain's survival abilities are, it can only guarantee that it returns to the library in one piece. As for the one being protected, well, they’ll just have to leave it to fate.”
The lounge fell silent instantly as everyone realized the little green man had a point.
The little green man scanned the room and continued.
“I think it’s better if I go. I happen to need to reclaim a Truth Relic anyway, so I’ll complete this mission along the way.”
Hearing the little green man's words, the Axiom Core slowly began to turn again.
“Clack, clack. Fate Typewriter, how long has it been, and you’re already going to reclaim the Truth Monocle?
“That person is no pushover. He even deigned to personally annihilate ants like the space pirates. I heard the pirates' corpses are still hanging in his subordinate territory for people to see.”
“Hmph, I have my ways. There's no need for you to worry about me.”
...
In the Land of the Undead, Chen Xu had finished setting up the Towers of Starlight. He closed his eyes to sense the starlight resonance around him and nodded in satisfaction.
“My Lord.”
At that moment, Big Boss actually arrived at the Land of the Undead, coming over from End City.
Chen Xu looked at Big Boss and noticed his hurried expression, so he asked, “What’s wrong? Did some blind space pirates provoke you again?”
Big Boss steadied himself and shook his head.
“No. Someone—uh, no, a typewriter came to the City of Miracles saying it wanted to find you.
“I asked what it wanted, but it refused to say, insisting it must speak with you face-to-face.
“I saw that it was dressed extraordinarily and possessed a profound aura, so I hurried here to inform you.”
“A typewriter? Could it be... Big Boss, did that typewriter say anything else?”
“Oh, right. It also said it came from the library.”
Hearing this, Chen Xu projected his consciousness to the City of Miracles and saw the Fate Typewriter.
“It really is him. Big Boss, bring him to End City.”
“As you command, my Lord.”
