Chapter 134 · Volume 1

Brother, Did You Tear Up My Script?!

Through the rift in the sky, a new withered wooden figure fell, crashing against the edge of the ruined dome and shattering into two pieces.
Cecilia’s crying was still hanging in the air.
From the cracks in the stone tiles of the secret chamber, dozens of emerald green vines suddenly shot out.
They moved with extreme speed.
They brought with them a sharp sound of breaking air.
The surface of the vines glowed with a translucent fluorescence.
There was a faint pulsation within them.
They coiled toward Cecilia’s wrists, ankles, and waist from all directions.
Cecilia exerted force with her legs.
She leaped three meters into the air.
Her naked body flipped a hundred and eighty degrees in mid-air.
The vines missed their mark.
Their tips tied themselves into a dead knot at the spot where she had been a second ago.
She landed barefoot on the rubble three meters away.
The muscles of her face showed no change.
Her golden hair hung down her back.
The sweat on her lower abdomen reflected a cold light in the sickly green light.
A person stood at the ruined entrance of the secret chamber.
Margaret.
The hem of her instructor’s cloak was half-torn.
A large patch of the fabric on her right shoulder was charred.
Her chest was heaving violently.
The air rubbed against her trachea, making a heavy, rasping sound.
She leaned forward with her hands on her knees.
Her back was arched.
She had fought her way from the plaza in Moon Phase City to this place, crossing the blockade of the withered husk tide.
Her mana was overextended to the limit.
She raised her head.
Her gaze swept across the secret chamber.
Bell, lying on the rubble.
Clothes scattered all over the floor.
Cecilia, standing naked amidst the bloodstains and shredded flesh.
And the traces remaining on her lower abdomen.
Margaret’s panting stopped.
She froze where she stood.
In her decades of teaching, no experience could have prepared her for this scene.
The student she was once most proud of in the academy.
A genius girl among humans.
She was currently standing in a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood, having just completed a one-sided plunder.
Margaret straightened up.
Her vocal cords were trembling.
“Cecilia.”
“Is this your true nature?”
Those two sentences exhausted her remaining strength.
Cecilia turned her head.
Sweat clung to her body.
She looked at Margaret.
It was the look one would give a fly that had landed on a dinner plate.
An interrupted moment of intimacy.
A violated privacy.
A perfect moment destroyed.
All of it transformed into pure killing intent.
“You wretched woman.”
The three words were squeezed out from between her teeth.
They ground together with a creaking sound.
“How dare you ruin the good thing between me and Brother.”
Cecilia vanished from where she stood.
Pure speed.
There was nothing in Margaret’s line of sight.
She couldn't see clearly.
She couldn't even catch an afterimage.
She only felt a gust of sweet, metallic wind pressing in from the front.
The scent of sweat mixed with blood.
A premonition of death surged from the base of her spine to the top of her head.
The Vastness of Nature instinct was released.
Dozens of vines shot out from her sleeves.
They wove together into a thick wooden shield.
It couldn't block it.
This was a monster that possessed the blood source essence of nine ancestors, the World Tree Heart, and the inheritance certification.
All defenses were merely a layer of paper.
The wooden shield would be shredded the moment it was touched.
A foot reached out from the side.
Its trajectory was precise.
The sole of the shoe ground against the air.
The moment it made contact with Cecilia’s waist.
BOOM.
A sonic boom exploded from the point of contact.
Cecilia’s body flew out sideways.
Her bare back smashed the first remaining stone pillar.
It snapped.
Rubble sprayed everywhere.
Her body continued to fly.
It smashed the second pillar.
The third.
Finally, it embedded itself into the cross-section of the fourth stone pillar.
The total distance exceeded forty meters.
In the corner.
Lilian’s jaw loosened.
Cecilia’s pressure vanished.
She gasped for air.
The dagger in her palm fell to the ground.
It made a crisp metallic clinking sound.
She looked at the man wearing the instructor’s robes.
The monster that had just driven them into a corner, making even the thought of resistance impossible.
Had been kicked forty meters away by this person with effortless ease.
Leon hung his fractured left arm.
He looked at Leovet.
His mind went blank for a moment.
This was the foundation of humanity.
This level of power.
It completely exceeded the system of magic theory he had been taught since childhood.
No chanting.
No mana fluctuations.
Pure physical strength, accompanied by some kind of unanalyzable rule.
Although he knew Leovet was strong, he never imagined it would be to this extent.
At the bottom of the deep pit.
Tia’s left side was still slowly reconstructing.
The threads pulled out by the liquid Mithril were finally no longer being snapped by electric arcs.
She propped up half her body with her right arm.
The etheric conduction lines of her right eye lit up again.
She locked onto Leovet.
She looked in Bell’s direction.
She let out a long sigh.
As long as Bell was alive.
There was still hope for everything.
Everyone’s gaze focused there.
Leovet’s right foot hung in the air.
The hem of his instructor’s robes fluttered.
He retracted his leg.
His left hand was shoved in his pocket.
His right hand held a half-eaten piece of bread.
He was still chewing.
He swept his gaze over the situation in the secret chamber.
His eyes slid over Bell, who was lying naked on the ground.
They paused for two seconds.
They moved to the struggling Cecilia in the distant rubble.
His facial muscles didn't flicker in the slightest.
Kicking away a basket blocking the path was nothing more than this.
Leovet finished chewing the bread in his mouth.
He swallowed.
He turned to look at Bell.
“I originally thought you could catch up to your sister.”
His gaze swept over Bell from top to bottom.
Then from bottom to top.
“It seems the gap is only getting wider.”
The elemental shackles shattered under the impact of that kick.
Bell’s body regained its freedom.
His left hand propped himself up on the cold stone tiles.
The muscles at his wrist spasmed slightly from the excessive force.
He pushed himself up from the ground.
The abrasions on his back were exposed to the air.
They brought a wave of stinging pain.
He ignored it.
His right hand grabbed the underwear that had fallen to the side.
The fabric was covered in dust.
He gave them a couple of shakes.
He lifted his right leg and stepped in.
Then his left leg.
His movements were mechanical.
There were no extra pauses.
He pulled on his trousers.
He pulled up the zipper.
He picked up his ruined shirt.
He slid his arms into the sleeves.
He fastened the buttons one by one.
Two buttons were missing.
He skipped them directly.
After fastening the last button.
He raised his head.
He looked at Leovet.
“How can a grinder like me compete with someone using cheats?”
His voice was raspy.
Like sandpaper on iron.
“What grinder? What are cheats?”
Leovet’s head tilted slightly.
His face was full of questions.
Forty meters away.
The rubble pressing down on Cecilia was blown apart by a wave of emerald green air.
Debris flew everywhere.
It struck the four walls of the secret chamber.
Cecilia stood up from the ruins.
Her naked body was covered in stone dust and bloodstains.
The indentation on her waist from that kick had already been repaired by the World Tree Heart.
Emerald green light flowed beneath her skin.
There was no anger on her face.
Something more extreme than anger occupied all her features.
Fear.
Pure.
Bone-deep fear.
“Leo... Leovet!”
Her voice was shrill.
It cracked.
“How can you be here! The script... you shouldn't be in the script!”
Leovet turned around.
He faced Cecilia.
His left hand remained in his pocket.
“What script?”
It was the standard tone he used when questioning students in class.
He pulled out two documents from the inside of his robes.
They were sealed with wax stamps.
He shook them between his fingers.
“I am here in Moon Phase City on official business, commissioned by both the Vampire Queen—that is, Miss Lilian here—and the First Princess of humanity, Alice.”
Leovet assumed Cecilia was referring to the prohibition that prevented him from leaving the capital at will.
“The paperwork is complete.”
“It’s all legal and compliant.”
He put the documents back into his robes.
“Is there a problem?”
Cecilia grabbed her hair with both hands.
Her nails dug into her scalp.
Her ten fingers scratched frantically through her hair.
“No... it wasn't like this...”
Her voice was trembling.
Her pupils violently contracted and dilated.
The absolute sense of control established over countless loops.
It completely collapsed at this moment.
She knew everyone’s movements.
She knew the timing of every crisis.
But Leovet had never appeared at this time, at this location.
This variable tore all her deductions to shreds.
“How could Leovet be here?!”
“This plot... is completely different from what I’ve experienced!”
She suddenly looked up.
Her gaze crossed the forty-meter distance.
It met Bell’s.
