The young elf girl watched with her own eyes as the fearless Zerg swarm charged into the enemy lines like madmen, piercing through their formation like a sharp blade.
The thousand-strong force of demons was utterly powerless against the 250 Zerg.
However, there were still many enemies remaining in the rear.
The forces currently besieging the city were merely their vanguard.
During the battle, some of the Zerg had already tried tasting the flesh of the demons. After confirming that it could provide a large amount of ordinary energy, Xia Jin knew she could profit from this conflict.
Meanwhile, at the border of the Glowing Forest, Vigaya delivered the twenty-five kilograms of mithril she required.

But the battle that followed made her realize that this goblin army was not so simple.
The number of enemies was beyond imagination.
After consecutively routing two units of a thousand soldiers each, an even larger goblin army organized a solid defensive line in the rear.
They had even deployed archers and prepared catapults to provide long-range fire against the charging Zerg. At close range, squads of soldiers holding bucklers and wielding sharp longswords formed tight phalanxes, blocking the way in front of the ranged units.
“They even know how to use tactics.”
Seeing such a disciplined army appearing before her, Xia Jin ordered the swarm to temporarily halt their advance.
The two sides entered a standoff in this direction.
The main goblin legion consisted of Tier 2 and Tier 3 units, with a Tier 4 powerhouse appearing for roughly every twenty individuals.
As for Tier 5 and Tier 6 units, they were extremely rare, with only one appearing for every thousand soldiers.
On the Zerg side, the zerglings were Tier 3 and the hydralisks were Tier 4; there were no higher-tier units present.
Although the Zerg held the overall advantage in combat, the cost of a direct assault against such a large number of enemies would be far too high.
“I might as well wait a few days for the hive to upgrade before launching the offensive.”
That was Xia Jin's thought, but the goblins clearly had no intention of giving her that chance. They actually organized a counterattack, attempting to drive away the invading swarm.

And while the goblins' arrows had strong piercing power, they were little more than an itch to the zerglings. Even having dozens of arrows stuck in their bodies was not enough to kill them.
The battle lasted for twenty minutes. Seeing the army in front on the verge of collapse, the goblins in the rear sent an elite legion of fifty soldiers as reinforcements. All of them were Tier 4 or Tier 5, and they plunged into the zergling swarm to buy time for the main force to retreat.
The battle soon came to an end.
Both sides retreated one kilometer, maintaining their standoff.
Despite achieving a certain degree of victory, Xia Jin remained on guard as she watched more and more goblin main forces gathering in the distance from her elevated perspective.
“One legion has five thousand goblins, and there seem to be quite a few such legions.”
