Chapter 341 · Volume 1

Floating Escort

Five days later.
“My Lady, the large Floating Hive Bug can now be modified into an escort. Its length will be maintained at around 30 meters, with a shuttle like shape, and it will be equipped with a fusion engine in a compressed state. It currently lacks a fusion engine for propulsion, so its conventional flight speed is capped at 20 kilometers per second, and it has no curvature drive. Although it is slower than the Hive Carrier and leviathans, it can still be deployed in a timely manner for most situations. For its weapon system, it is equipped with a bioelectromagnetic cannon that reaches speeds of 30 kilometers per second. The internal chambers also include a scourge production room, allowing for the continuous production of scourges to strike at enemies.”
“Furthermore, based on the Floating Escort, I have developed a new variant, the Floating Transport Ship. Its production cost is significantly lower than the escort, while the strength of its force field shield is comparable.”
“Of course, these are just the basic specifications. During actual production, I will attempt to integrate a portion of magical power and Abyss power. If the tests on these are successful, perhaps the force field shield itself could carry a trace of magical power in the future.”
Brain Bug No. 1 transmitted the design of the new insects into Xia Jin’s mind.
“Phew, that is not bad at all, considering the size and investment.”
She had not expected the Zerg to be able to develop even electromagnetic cannons.
She was now looking forward to the application of magic.
Once the development in space matured, she could return to the fairy forest to obtain more branches of the World Tree for analysis.
Currently, the cost of a Floating Escort was 4 million units of high energy crystals.
A Floating Transport Ship cost 800,000 units.
The price difference was substantial, but the former was fully functional for war, while the latter was for transport.
Given that the Zerg currently had no enemies in space, Xia Jin prioritized the construction of Floating Transport Ships.
“Build 10 of them first.”
With 10 transport ships, they could travel between Planet Insecta and the second planet currently discovered by the Zerg.
After much thought, Xia Jin renamed that second planet to Planet Dawn.
Planet Insecta included the satellite Insect Guard 1.
Planet Dawn included the satellite Dawn 1.
The planet closest to the Insecta Sun, situated further inward from Planet Insecta, was named Planet Flame.
Simple and efficient.
Currently, the development of the two planets in the Insecta system was nearly complete. The next focus would be laying down creep on Planet Dawn and Dawn 1.
Additionally, Xia Jin planned to send a Floating Transport Ship to Planet Flame once they were built to test if the environment there was tolerable for the current Zerg.
...
Two days later, the first Floating Transport Ship was completed.
This ship was constructed directly on Insect Guard 1, right next to the Hive Carrier.
After taking off and testing its flight status, it immediately began accelerating toward Planet Flame.
Planet Flame was currently about 70 million kilometers away from Planet Insecta. At the transport ship’s maximum speed, the journey would take 40 days.
However, after twenty or thirty days of actual flight, the specific conditions of the target planet could already be observed quite clearly.
Considering that each planet had a different day length, astronomical time was calculated based on a single day on Insect Guard 1.
During this waiting period, Xia Jin’s true body had already emerged from beneath Clearwillow Lake.
The little magic monster princess crouching near the water’s surface immediately perked up her head in excitement.
If she had a tail, Xia Jin suspected the girl would have already been wagging it happily as she rushed over.
Well, she was already rushing over.
Slurp—
“My Lady!”
“Erm...”
Xia Jin kicked the girl away.
“Could you please not hug my leg and slurp the moment you see me?”
Xia Jin huffed.
Having just come out of the water, she was soaking wet.
She stretched and glanced down at her clothes.
Her silver white hair was stuck to her outfit, and her snow white skin looked pure and flawless under the sunlight.
Water droplets sparkled, refracting the seven colored light.
Since most of the planet’s surface was now covered in creep, Xia Jin no longer had any intention of wearing shoes.
Stepping on the creep felt soft and squishy.
It was as if the creep itself was excited.
At that moment, the Magic Beast King, who had been crouching in the distance flicking his tail, also ran over.
Although he had been turned into a Zerg, this fellow still maintained his past dignity and a slight touch of arrogance.
However, within the Swarm consciousness, the instinct to submit to the Queen was irresistible.
Conversely, on the other side, the Black Dragon King giggled foolishly. “My Lady is so cute, my wi—”
Thwack!
Before she could finish the word “wife,” a knuckle rap had already landed on her head.
“Magic Beast King, I have a task for you. How about you go and station yourself on Planet Dawn for a while?”
“Ah, does that mean I won’t be able to see My Lady?”
“Since you are immortal anyway, what does it matter if you can’t see me for a little while?”
Seeing how these guys did not want to leave her side for even a second, Xia Jin covered her face helplessly.
It really was a burden to be this charming.
Even if she did find them quite cute.
