Absorbing Concentrated Energy

0.02 units. According to the information provided by Brain Bug No. 1, most high-energy crystals were actually of poor quality.

To obtain concentrated energy, high-energy crystals had to be further refined into a higher grade. The current Zerg Hive did not yet possess the technology for this process.

However, the demons allowed her to acquire it ahead of schedule.

This could directly enhance Xia Jin’s power and leveling speed, offering significant benefits for her future growth.

“Let’s go. We’re going to hunt some wild demons.”

This was likely the first time in history that creatures from another world had invaded demon territory.

Before long, Xia Jin spotted a new group of demon sentinels. Among them was a demon that appeared smaller in size but had two horns growing from its head.

A powerful aura emanated from it.

“A little demon!” the legion commander shouted hurriedly. “That thing is likely Tier 10.”

“Tier 10? You certainly are well-informed.”

Xia Jin was surprised he could recognize it at a glance.

However, what did it matter if it was Tier 10?

In an instant, her arms shot out dozens of meters, transforming into countless fleshy limbs that wrapped around the demons. She then violently thrust out numerous sharp blades, twisting them to instantly tear the creatures into several pieces.

Only the Tier 10 little demon remained, having noticed her presence because of the attack.

“Goodbye!”

With a low hum, the ground in front of her surged.

Psionic power materialized, crushing the target’s body almost instantaneously.

“It really was Tier 10, but it wasn’t as strong as me.”

Xia Jin suspected that by relying on the Zerg mental power to launch a Psionic Blast, she could already contend with Tier 11 powerhouses.

Even though she had deliberately controlled the energy to focus on killing just the one little demon, a large crater was still blasted into the ground.

Following her usual method, she wrapped her hands around the flesh and blood, rapidly converting it into concentrated energy for absorption. Anything she couldn’t absorb immediately was temporarily received by the Swarm network, which ignored distance, and then slowly transmitted back into Xia Jin’s body.

“Hmm, there’s quite a lot of energy. The conversion isn’t that fast.”

Her current Zerg genes truly couldn’t withstand this higher-level power yet.

The origin of demons was truly peculiar. What kind of place was this Abyss? Could it be another world?

With such thoughts, Xia Jin looked up at the sky.

Unfortunately, the sky was a deep, murky gray. There were no stars to speak of; instead, it looked as though it were enveloped in a layer of chaos.

“Let’s rest for a while. It’s relatively safe here.”

She looked back at the passage; it was still stable.

But even if it were destroyed, it wouldn’t matter. All the energy Xia Jin obtained here could be transmitted to her main body, and then the projection could simply explode.

“In that case, I’ll transmit energy to the main body while simultaneously upgrading this projection.”

This projection might end up becoming Xia Jin’s most powerful body.

The group arrived at a relatively damp cave.

“The oxygen levels feel sufficient.”

After lighting a campfire, she sat quietly beside it.

The group of soldiers and officers looked at each other. Many of them were stealing glances at the black-haired girl.

She felt incredibly beautiful.

Dressed in a black dress, she was the kind of girl who could easily make one’s heart skip a beat.

If she were speaking normally, who would have thought that this person could effortlessly kill a Tier 10 demon?

One had to realize that, at the same tier, humans were generally inferior to demons.

“These Zerg are truly strange. I feel like if they ever went up against demons, the demons might be the ones in trouble.”

A soldier standing behind the legion commander to the right lowered his voice and whispered.

“Then you’re underestimating the demons’ strength,” another person beside him replied. “Aside from their juveniles, the weakest adults start at Tier 8. That’s far more ridiculous than us humans. For now, I don’t feel like the Zerg are quite that strong.”

“You’re still saying that? When the Zerg first appeared, what tier did the reports say they were? Back then, the higher-ups seemed to think they couldn’t possibly defeat the Kingdom of Clear, right? Look at them now; even we can’t beat them anymore.”

Xia Jin, of course, heard these whispers clearly.

These soldiers thought that she wouldn’t be able to hear them if they spoke softly thirty meters away.

But let them say whatever they wanted.

Her current state was excellent. The energy provided by the corpses from earlier was truly substantial. After completing the absorption, she could clearly feel her physical constitution improving.

This brought another benefit: her absorption speed became even faster.

“Even though I’m very strong now, I’m still far from touching the ceiling of Tier 10.”

Once the absorption was finished, she opened her eyes and looked at her hands.

Although the demons she had encountered so far were primarily melee combatants, their strength was the real deal. Despite their small stature, it would be genuinely difficult to harm them even with heavy cannons.

Seeing that many of the soldiers had closed their eyes to sleep, Xia Jin stood up.

The legion commander immediately straightened his back. “Are you going somewhere?”

“To kill demons.”

About twenty minutes later, she had absorbed more demon flesh.

“The concentrated energy totals four units now.”

As expected, most of it had been provided by that Tier 10 creature.

Moreover, during the absorption, she discovered that she had actually gained some vague memory fragments from the creature’s mind.

They seemed to be of a demon city, but the content was too fragmented and difficult to understand.

“Phew. Maybe I could try turning into a demon to infiltrate them? I could go to a place with high numbers to absorb them.”

With this idea in mind, she felt it was worth a try. It would be even better if she could head over after reaching Tier 11. Tier 10 was too weak; while not considered cannon fodder in the Abyss, one couldn't exactly become a powerhouse at that level either.
