Zuo Lin'an and the others walked ahead, so they didn't hear the people behind them discussing him and Xu Youyou.
The group made their way to the living quarters.
“This is the dormitory building, and all the rooms are doubles. Since you arrived early, you can choose whichever you like. I recommend the first floor; it's very convenient and saves time no matter where you go or what you do.”
“The rooms with keys hanging on the doors are unoccupied. Once you choose a room, remember to take the key.”
“Put your things in your rooms first. This morning, I'll show you around the training base. Once everyone has arrived this afternoon, class will officially begin.”
Without a second thought, Zuo Lin'an selected a room on the first floor.
Xu Youyou quickly followed.
Opening the door, Zuo Lin'an found that it was reasonably spacious, similar to a double dorm room in some schools.
It was also very clean, almost completely spotless. It had likely been cleaned in advance.
They didn't waste any time. They dropped their things, pulled out the keys from the lock, and put them away.
There were two keys in total, exactly one for each of them.
When they walked back outside, they realized they were actually the last to finish getting ready.
It made sense. Out of the seven of them, only the two of them had come straight from school, and they had the most luggage. Just moving everything into the room had taken a considerable amount of time.
“Let's go.”
Seeing that everyone was assembled, the woman didn't make things difficult for them.
“First, I'll take you to the academic building to find your classroom. You need to head there ahead of time before class starts this afternoon.”
She pointed to the white building ahead. It was ten stories tall.
“You're also in luck. Since you arrived early, you get to use the first classroom on the first floor.”
She led them into the first floor of the academic building, to the classroom closest to the entrance.
“Go on in. There's a sheet of paper on the lectern where you should write your names. You will be attending your theory classes here from now on.”
Everyone obediently went inside.
When Zuo Lin'an signed his name, he noticed there were already ten names on the list.
It seemed that although they had arrived early, they weren't the earliest.
Just as they finished writing their names and walked out, they saw another vehicle pulling up at the training base's main gate. A dozen or so people of all kinds got out.
The woman merely glanced at them before looking away. “Let's go. I'll take you somewhere else.”
Over the next period of time, Zuo Lin'an followed her to other locations. These included an indoor training ground and an outdoor combat arena.
They also visited the armory.
However, although there were many weapons inside, they were all melee weapons, and small ones that were easy to conceal and carry.
Seeing no firearms or ammunition, Zuo Lin'an didn't feel disappointed. After all, only these inconspicuous melee weapons could be brought into Sin Hunter City.
And those death row convicts had no weapons at all.
Their final stop was the cafeteria.
The woman pointed to the three-story building ahead. “This is the cafeteria, where you will eat. It's open twenty-four hours a day, so you can come whenever you like.”
“Everything inside is completely free, but wasting food is strictly forbidden.”
“It happens to be lunchtime now. Go inside and eat. After eating, you can head back to the dormitory to rest and unpack. Remember to be in the classroom before one in the afternoon.”
With that, she led the group into the cafeteria to eat with them.
It appeared that the training base staff also ate here.
After finishing their meal, the woman told them they were free to do as they pleased for the rest of the time and left.
Xu Youyou sat with Zuo Lin'an. “The food here tastes amazing. It's way better than our school cafeteria.”
Zuo Lin'an nodded. It was indeed quite good.
“It's already past noon. Let's hurry back to the dorm, unpack, and then head to the classroom to wait. Being late is definitely bad. If we make the instructor angry, they might just finish us off right then and there.”
Xu Youyou recalled what their homeroom teacher had said. The instructors here were all elites, and they wouldn't be held responsible even if they killed a student.
“True. Let's go then.”
They quickly returned to the dormitory, briefly tidied up their beds and clothes, and rushed to the classroom.
When they arrived at the classroom, they found that people were already there. Out of the forty sets of desks and chairs in the entire classroom, more than half were already occupied.
Zuo Lin'an did a quick count—twenty-six people!
So many? It seemed the two of them were still a bit late.
He pulled Xu Youyou to sit at the very back, checking his watch in the process.
It was twelve-thirty, half an hour before class officially started.
Fortunately, they still had plenty of time.
