Galina reached out and gently stroked Liya's head, giving a soft laugh.
"Eat up, Liya. I'm already full. Lord Medusa treated me..."
Before she could finish, Galina's expression froze as a little girl sat up behind Liya.
The little girl's brow was deeply furrowed, her displeasure at being disturbed evident.
As if sensing something, Liya turned her head stiffly only to see Jonavili sitting up with a look of annoyance; she turned to stone on the spot.
"Wh... White..."
Jonavili was quite troubled; a dragon's senses were incredibly sharp, and although these two had tried their best to lower their voices, it was no different from them shouting directly into her ear.
Seeing one fox-girl stuttering in fear and the other frozen in place, Jonavili felt her anger dissipate slightly.
However, she still snatched the bread from Liya's hand and bit into it as if to vent.
Jonavili's actions caused the two fox-girls to snap back to their senses, and Galina hurriedly pulled Liya down to kneel on the floor, her voice trembling.
"Please forgive us, Lord White Dragon. We didn't do it on purpose. I only wanted to bring Liya breakfast. I am terribly sorry for disturbing your rest. If there is to be punishment, please punish me alone."
Liya hadn't reacted at first, her mind filled with thoughts like: 'She... she snatched my delicious bread, and she even ate the part I bit. Does this count as an indirect kiss? It does, right? Aaaaah!'
It wasn't until she heard Galina say 'punish me alone' that Liya snapped out of it and hurriedly spoke up.
"No, that's not it! Sister, she..."
Before Liya could finish, Jonavili narrowed her crystal-blue pupils and spoke expressionlessly.
"Enough. Do I look like the kind of fool who loses her temper over nothing?"
...
At that moment, by a certain riverside, a red dragon who was flying into a rage after being toyed with by a fish let out a sneeze.
"Achoo! Who is talking about the great Furiel behind her back?!"
...
Just as she sensed Jonavili waking up, Medusa had already begun making her way there.
As soon as she entered the room, she saw the two kneeling on the floor, and Jonavili turned her gaze toward her at that moment.
Medusa hurriedly bowed.
"Medusa greets the master."
Jonavili floated over to Medusa and said calmly.
"Since I can't sleep anyway, let's go explore the parts we didn't finish last time."
"Yes, great master."
Jonavili flew out of the room, and Medusa glanced back at the two, her tone indifferent.
"Follow."
Leaving those words behind, she turned and followed Jonavili.
"Yes..."
Galina breathed a sigh of relief and stood up, only to see Liya picking up the remaining pieces of bread that had fallen to the floor.
"Sister, this is so delicious."
"Alright, eat slowly so you don't choke."
"I want to bring some for Mama to taste later."
Hearing Liya's words, Galina's heart trembled; she didn't know what had become of the other demi-humans, but they shouldn't be in any life-threatening danger.
"Okay."
The two quickly caught up with Medusa and Jonavili.
Jonavili's room was built in the center of the city; after picking a direction, they began walking that way.
The architectural style here was extremely similar to human city-states, thanks to the results of Fanni's negotiations with those humans.
Soon, Jonavili's gaze was drawn to a novel building style.
"Battleaxe Restaurant?"
Driven by curiosity, Jonavili stepped inside.
The decor of this restaurant was simple, with only a few scattered monster customers.
Looking around, Jonavili walked up to the counter and spoke coldly to the minotaur who was busy there.
"Boss, what dishes do you have here?"
The minotaur froze; he felt as if he were being stared down by a dragon.
He instinctively turned around and found a little human girl.
His bell-like eyes widened.
Good grief, it wasn't an illusion; a dragon really was staring him down.
The minotaur bowed to Jonavili.
"Kru greets the great Lord White Dragon."
"To answer Lord White Dragon's question, the dishes here include roasted beef leg, steamed beef hooves, steak, and so on."
Hearing this, Jonavili sized the minotaur up a few times, a strange look flashing in her eyes.
A restaurant run by a minotaur that only sold beef-based food—now wasn't that bizarre?
"Give me two steaks."
"Yes, Lord White Dragon."
Kru turned around, preparing to cook the steaks, but Jonavili called out to him again.
"Aren't you going to ask how I want them cooked?"
Hearing Jonavili's question, Kru was dazed for a moment.
"How... how what?"
Looking at the dim-witted minotaur, Jonavili seemed to understand something.
"Never mind. Go about your business."
"As you wish."
Jonavili walked over to a table and sat down, slowly closing her eyes to enter her draconic inheritance, watching the interesting events in her memories as if she were watching short videos.
This draconic inheritance was quite high-end; it could directly project images imported by dragons, and there were even dragon films inside.
As for how Jonavili knew? She had certainly clicked on them by accident.
The images projected before her were categorized in a complex way; the previous one might be the casting process for some magic, while the next could be a passionate battle between a dragon and its vassal.
Meanwhile, Medusa and the other two maids stood quietly by Jonavili's side; only Liya, whose mind was still immature, looked around curiously and even raised her hand to wave at other monsters in the shop.
However, after those monsters saw the sleeping Jonavili, they all avoided them, and not a single one dared to respond.
Before long, Kru walked over carrying two large plates of beef; seeing Jonavili with her eyes closed in 'rest', he didn't know what to do.
He turned his gaze toward the most approachable-looking Liya, hoping she would help, but Jonavili had already opened her eyes.
She had been looking forward to tasting this old bull's craftsmanship, but after seeing the two plates of black charcoal in front of her, her gaze darkened.
"What on earth is this?"
Kru scratched his head and smiled sheepishly.
"To answer Lord White Dragon, this is my exclusive secret recipe roasted steak. My skills are a bit unrefined; please forgive me."
Jonavili's mouth twitched.
You call this 'a bit unrefined'? You've clearly served me two pieces of charcoal, big brother.
"Don't look at its poor appearance; not a single customer who has eaten it has had a bad word to say."
Adopting the ancestral attitude of 'since I'm already here', Jonavili prepared to try it anyway.
She reached out her small hand, and seeing Jonavili's movement, Kru scratched his head, not understanding what she meant.
"What?"
"Utensils."
Seeing Kru's confused expression, Jonavili's face showed a look of realization.
Fine, fine, you don't have any, do you? You really are something else.
