Chapter 63 · Volume 1

Such a Sweet Talker

Zhang Ye and Lina remained hidden in the burrow, with only their two small heads poking out.
Currently observing in secret...
Zhang Ye noticed something was off about that peak Tier Nine Rock Beast.
It wasn’t red; it was gold, and its body radiated a dense gold element. In other words, it wasn’t a Flame Rock Beast at all.
A golden Flame Rock Beast... It was likely a Gold Rock Beast from the Yellow Zone.
The problem was that throughout their journey, no Gold Rock Beast in the Yellow Zone had exceeded Tier Nine; at most, they were at the peak of Tier Eight. Where did this peak Tier Nine Gold Rock Beast come from?
And why did it appear in the Red Zone?
Furthermore, this Gold Rock Beast was clearly different from the others. Other Gold Rock Beasts were dual-attribute Gold and Earth, with metals on their bodies leaning toward bronze or steel. This one, however, was dazzlingly bright, as if made of pure gold.
When in doubt, analyze.
【Bolabo Gold: A peak Tier Nine Gold-Earth dual-attribute magical beast. It possesses extremely powerful physical defense and magic resistance.】
It actually had a name. As expected, it was no ordinary beast!
Time for a deeper analysis.
【Bolabo Gold: Born directly from the Secret Realm Source, it possesses intelligence no lower than that of a human.】
Born directly from the Secret Realm Source?
The other rock beasts were magical beasts born from the elemental power of this secret realm, but this Gold Rock Beast was born directly from the source power. Its strength was bound to be even more formidable.
While Zhang Ye was lost in thought, the figures in the distance and the Gold Rock Beast rapidly approached. Zhang Ye could even hear a string of angry curses.
“Are you humans insane?!”
“I was just taking a bath, and you try to hack me to pieces?!”
“Go hack the other rock beasts! Why the hell are you chasing me?!”
“If you’ve got the guts, put down that pseudo-Saint artifact, and I’ll take you all on myself!”
Zhang Ye’s eyes widened.
This peak Tier Nine Gold Rock Beast truly lived up to its human-level intelligence. Not only could it speak the human tongue, but its mouth was practically smothered in honey.
So sweet, so very sweet~
The three people chasing Bolabo became even more enraged upon hearing this.
“Circle Storm!” With a sharp cry, a circular hurricane composed of countless wind blades swept toward Bolabo.
Zhang Ye squinted to get a better look.
Those three were actually Samanra and her team!
Seeing the tornado heading its way, Bolabo immediately let out another string of choice words.
“You humans are a bunch of lunatics!”
“Once I reach Tier Ten, I’m definitely going to beat the shit out of you!”
“Then I’ll beat you into the shit!”
“And then I’ll use your own shit to beat you!”
“(╬◣д◢)!”
It then curled up into a massive rolling boulder. Its golden-stone body emitted a brilliant golden light, and its defense increased dramatically.
When the fierce Tier Nine spell, Circle Storm, landed on it, it only managed to leave faint marks on its golden-stone layer. It didn’t even break through its defense!
“Hahaha! You little pieces of trash, you actually think you can kill your Grandpa Gold?!” Bolabo immediately poked out its turt—ahem, its massive head, looking incredibly arrogant.
“Come on! Hit me! Use more strength! Are you trying to polish me?!”
“Blehhh~”
Veins throbbed on the foreheads of Samanra and the others. Samanra’s small face was already cold as frost.
Right at that moment, Nan suddenly moved.
He crouched low, gripping the hilt of the blade at his waist as lightning flickered across his body.
Thunderclap Flash!
His entire being transformed into a bolt of lightning, letting out a series of booming rumbles. A purple blade light seemed as if it would split the heavens and earth apart, finally landing on Bolabo’s body.
A piece of golden armor was instantly sliced off Bolabo’s curled-up, spherical body.
Bolabo: “!!!”
“Where the hell did this little purple-haired brat come from?!”
“You hack me without saying a word! Was your brain kicked by a donkey or something?!”
Bolabo cursed incessantly. Seeing that someone was also blocking the path ahead, it simply stopped rolling and curled into a ball on the spot. Golden light flickered on its body, and the piece of golden armor that had been sliced off was fully restored in the blink of an eye.
Zhang Ye watched, dumbfounded.
This Gold Rock Beast didn’t just have a sharp tongue; its strength was nothing to scoff at either.
A late-stage Tier Eight Flame Rock Beast would have definitely been sliced in two by Nan’s strike, and even a peak Tier Nine would have been heavily injured. Yet, this Gold Rock Beast only lost a small piece of golden armor, and it recovered instantly.
This defense and recovery speed were simply too powerful.
But if it was this strong, why was it being chased and hacked by Samanra’s trio?
Was it because Samanra held a pseudo-Saint artifact?
Nan’s blade hadn’t broken through its defense. Although he remained expressionless, Zhang Ye could clearly sense that he was surprised.
The lightning on his body began to flicker erratically.
“I’m done running! Do whatever you want! If you can kill me, I’ll call you impressive!” Even while curled into a ball, Bolabo didn’t forget to keep talking trash.
Nan immediately gripped his hilt, preparing to strike again. However, in the next moment, he turned his gaze toward Samanra’s trio.
At this time, the three of them also turned their eyes toward him, their faces full of vigilance and hostility.
“It’s Nan from the Thunderclap family,” the woman behind Samanra whispered. “This guy is hard to deal with!”
Her name was Sacra, and the man was named Sabiba.
Sabiba’s gaze was cold, and air currents swirled around him. “So what? Are the three of us supposed to be afraid of him alone?”
Samanra didn't say a word, her cold face fixed on Nan. Nan also stared back at her without any expression.
They remained in a standoff for a full three minutes.
Zhang Ye’s teeth practically ached from watching.
Are these two stone-faced people really going to have a staring contest?
Not a single word for three minutes—are you performing a mime show?
Finally, the hot-tempered Sabiba couldn’t take it anymore and pointed his rapier at Nan.
“There are three of us, and we were the ones who discovered this Gold Rock Beast first. Starting a conflict won’t do you any good, so please leave!”
Zhang Ye was somewhat surprised. He had thought Sabiba would spout some arrogant nonsense and provoke Nan, leading to a fierce clash.
However, Nan didn’t even spare him a glance. He continued to stare at Samanra, but his hand already gripped his hilt, and electrical currents began to surge across his body.
Zhang Ye’s eyes lit up.
Now this is the rhythm of a fight breaking out!
Nice job, Little Nan! You’ve got to keep up that cold and aloof act!
Sure enough, seeing Nan’s attitude, Samanra’s trio immediately took up offensive stances.
Just then, a sarcastic voice drifted from between the two parties.
“Heh, humans. Is this what humans are like?”
“This is honestly quite hilarious.”
“I’m right here letting you hit me, but you won’t. Instead, you start fighting among yourselves.”
“An inferior race like this actually dreams of world domination? It’s enough to make a beast die of laugh—ow, ow, ow!”
Before it could finish, several wind blades and a bolt of lightning landed on Bolabo. Although they didn’t cause any substantial damage, they still made it howl in pain.
In the next instant, Nan was the first to act. With a stomp of his foot, he transformed into a bolt of purple lightning and charged toward Samanra.
Samanra’s reaction was just as fast. She tapped her staff, and a massive arrow of wind shot toward Nan.
Clearly, both sides wanted to deal with each other first before handling this foul-mouthed Gold Rock Beast.
Facing Samanra’s wind arrow, Nan drew his blade and slashed. A lightning blade light swept out, colliding with the wind arrow and causing a violent explosion in mid-air.
Lightning flashed, and Nan’s figure had already vanished from the explosion.
“What?!” Looking at the figure that suddenly appeared before him, Sabiba’s face filled with shock.
He had thought Nan’s target was Samanra, but he hadn’t expected it to be himself!
However, as a genius of the younger generation of the Wind Spirit family, while he wasn’t as strong as Samanra, he wasn’t weak either.
Seeing Nan already in front of him, he immediately held his rapier before him to defend.
“Wind Shield!”
A shield composed of intense wind appeared beside Sabiba.
However, Nan’s attack power far exceeded Sabiba’s imagination. With a straightforward, unadorned slash, lightning overflowed. With just a single strike, Sabiba’s shield was torn apart.
“Wh—” Sabiba was horrified, but before he could finish his sentence, Nan’s blade swung toward his neck, seemingly aiming to take his head!
Killing intent!
Pure killing intent!
This person was actually going for the kill without a second thought!
Just as Sabiba thought he was about to be decapitated, a blade of azure light slashed toward Nan’s side. Seeing this, Nan could only turn his blade to strike the azure light. At the same time, he planted a kick into Sabiba’s chest, sending him flying.
It was Samanra. At the critical moment, she had saved Sabiba by using an attack as defense. Meanwhile, Sacra and Samanra charged toward Nan together.
Wild winds howled, and killing intent filled the air!
