His ability was 【Energy Blocking】, which allowed him to cut off all energy supplies within a certain range.
Whether it was an Ability User’s energy core or a mechanical device’s power lines, any energy source he locked onto would fail within a short period.
Of course, this ability was useless against Ability Users stronger than himself.
“If it’s just a simple technological barrier... I can cut it,” Ma Jun’s voice was low and raspy. “But I need to get closer. The closer I am, the better the effect.”
The scarred-face man slapped his thigh. “Then let’s do it! Once Old Ma cuts that damn barrier, we’ll rush in and slaughter everyone in that building! That Shadow-Stalker Beast must be inside; catching it will bring a sky-high bounty!”
“As for the owner of that building...” He gave a contemptuous smile. “How strong can someone be if they’re just surviving on scavenged high-tech weapons? Level 3 at most!”
“There are six of us—one Level 3, two Level 2s, and three Level 1s. We can’t take him down?”
“Let’s go!”
Six figures blurred simultaneously, darting toward the Terminal Station building.
Their speed was incredible, moving through the ruins like a pack of ghosts.
The Sentry machine gun turrets immediately locked onto their targets, and tongues of fire poured down once more—
“Rat-tat-tat-tat—!”
However, this time, the bullets’ lethality was greatly diminished.
The reaction speed and physical constitution of Ability Users far exceeded those of ordinary humans.
They either dodged, parried, or used their abilities to deflect the bullets’ trajectories.
Bullets hitting the Level 1 Ability Users left only shallow bloody marks.
Against the Level 2 users, they barely even grazed the skin.
As for the Level 3 “Severance,” Ma Jun didn’t even bother to dodge. The bullets stopped weirdly a foot away from him, as if blocked by an invisible force field.
Su Wan stood before the third-floor window, watching everything coldly.
“As expected, ordinary weapons have limited effectiveness against Ability Users.” Understanding dawned in her heart as she issued a command through the system: “Cease fire.”
The machine gun turrets stopped firing simultaneously, and silence returned to the roof.
Severance frowned slightly.
The enemy stopped firing?
Did they realize it was useless, or... was there another scheme?
But the arrow was already on the string; there was no time for second-guessing.
The six men quickly reached the building’s outer wall.
Ma Jun stood at the front, took a deep breath, spread his arms, and activated his ability at full power—
【Energy Blocking: Domain Expansion】!
An invisible ripple spread from him, instantly enveloping the entire outer barrier of the Terminal Station building.
Su Wan immediately received a system prompt:
【Warning: External ability interference detected. Attempting to cut off the building’s energy supply!】
【Interference Source: Level 3 Ability User. Ability Type: Energy Blocking/Interference.】
【Range of Effect: Currently covering the building’s outer wall barrier generator... Barrier energy circuits are being interfered with...】
【Barrier efficiency dropping... Decreased to 72%... 54%... 31%...】
Simultaneously, all the robots inside the building stopped working. Their indicator lights flickered a few times before turning a dull, standby red.
【Butler robots have entered standby mode due to energy interruption.】
【Note: The opponent’s ability cannot penetrate the rules of the Absolute Safety Zone, but it is effective against conventional energy facilities and equipment.】
Su Wan’s gaze turned cold.
This person’s ability could actually cut off the energy supply; that was indeed a bit troublesome.
Unfortunately for him, what he couldn’t cut was the power of the rules bound to the building itself.
The barrier was merely a technological product she had exchanged for; her true trump card had never been that.
Outside the building, Ma Jun slowly withdrew his power, fine beads of sweat seeping from his forehead.
Maintaining a large-scale energy block for three seconds was an immense drain.
“It’s done,” he said raspily. “The barrier is gone.”
The scarred-face man was overjoyed and waved his hand. “Charge!”
The five men shot forward like arrows released from a bow, reaching the building’s entrance in an instant.
The burly Level 2 Ability User leading them slammed a fist into the closed fire door—
“Boom—!”
The thick door panel was smashed open, twisting and deforming as it hit the ground with a heavy thud!
The vagrants hiding against the wall were scared out of their wits, screaming as they scattered and fled.
The mercenary Ability Users didn’t even glance at them—these ants weren’t worth wasting time on.
Their eyes were only on the interior of the building, the depths of this mysterious structure, the Shadow-Stalker Beast, and the potential treasures.
The scarred-face man charged in first, stepping over the threshold and into the dim hallway—
“Haha! We’re in! Old Ma, hurry up!”
Ma Jun had originally stayed put, staring at the building with a faint sense of unease in his heart.
It was too smooth.
The barrier was cut, the door was smashed open, and the opponent hadn't reacted at all—was this normal?
But his companions had already rushed inside, and their excited shouts echoed from the hallway without any sign of trouble.
Severance bit his lip, suppressed the trace of doubt in his mind, and strode toward the building’s entrance.
He too stepped into the Terminal Station.
The moment both his feet crossed the threshold—
Everything came to a standstill.
The scarred-face man remained in a charging posture, one foot on the stairs and his body leaning forward, the savage grin on his face frozen into a bizarre statue.
The burly man who had smashed the door was half-squatted on the ground, his hands still held in a power-gathering pose, as if frozen in time.
The other two Level 1 Ability Users—one about to dash deeper into the corridor, the other looking back toward the door—were both completely motionless.
As for Ma Jun himself, he had just stepped inside. Before his foot could even touch the ground, he felt an indescribable, absolute force pressing in from all directions!
His consciousness was still functioning, and his thoughts could still turn, but his body—
He couldn't move.
He couldn't even move a finger.
His energy core spun frantically, attempting to break free from this restraint, but that force was like the rules of the world itself; it was impossible to resist!
Despite his best efforts, he could only make his eyelids tremble slightly. In his field of vision, he saw the dim hallway, his frozen companions, and—
A slender figure slowly walking down the stairs.
Su Wan.
She wore a simple dark tracksuit with her hair tied up casually, a faint smile on her face.
That smile, however, sent a chill down Severance’s spine.
“Welcome to the Terminal Station,” Su Wan’s voice echoed in the silent hallway, as calm as if she were making small talk. “Guests from afar, how should I entertain you?”
She walked up to the scarred-face man, reached out her index finger, and lightly poked the face frozen in a savage grin.
The scarred-face man’s muscles were rigid; he couldn't even blink, his eyes filled with terror and disbelief.
She bypassed him and walked toward Ma Jun.
The Level 3 Ability User was currently like a bug trapped in amber, one foot suspended in the air, his body leaning slightly forward in an extremely awkward posture.
His eyes were fixed on Su Wan, churning with shock, fear, and a hint of defiance.
Su Wan looked him over, a flash of satisfaction in her eyes.
A Level 3 Ability User with Energy Blocking—a rare and powerful ability.
“You’re a bit smarter than them,” Su Wan said flatly. “At least you hesitated. Unfortunately, you still came in.”
