Although the configuration was meager, it was already a rare existence in the post-apocalyptic Ruin Zone, especially for the common refugees of the Outer City.
Just those five vials of “Basic Anti-Toxin Serum” alone would be enough to make countless people fight tooth and nail for them.
One had to realize that in the Outer City's black market, even the lowest quality Anti-Toxin Serum cost over 500 Star Coins, and even then, they were often unavailable at any price.
As for the pricing...
The system's suggested price was already quite “affordable,” but Su Wan knew she could adjust it based on the actual situation.
“Exchange and install the Basic Medical Station in Room 108,” Su Wan ordered.
【500 Points deducted. Generating Basic Medical Station...】
【Installation location: Room 108.】
【Installation complete.】
【Current Points: 5,960.】
Almost instantly, the door to Room 108 opened automatically, and the interior of the once-empty concrete room underwent a world-shaking transformation.
Su Wan stepped inside to inspect it.
The room was divided into front and back sections by a simple transparent plastic curtain.
In the front section, two white metal medicine cabinets stood against the wall, with various medicines and supplies categorized and displayed behind glass doors.
Su Wan looked at the budding medical station with satisfaction.
With this, combined with the convenience store, the shelter's basic life support system was preliminarily established.
Just as she was about to leave the medical station and return to her room, the system prompt sounded in her mind again:
【Detected current number of tenants: 4. The shelter has taken the initial shape of a micro-community.】
【Note: Time in this plane passes normally when the Host returns to the original plane (Blue Star). Lack of direct management by the Host may lead to chaos, resource disputes, security risks, and other hidden dangers, affecting the stable development of the shelter and the Host's profits.】
【Recommendation: Exchange for one “Basic Management Robot (Model: Butler-C1)” to maintain basic order and manage routine affairs in the shelter during the Host's travel.】
【The Butler-C1 robot features functions such as maintaining order, patrolling and monitoring, resource point management, access control, information relay, and basic cleaning.】
【Exchange price: 1,200 Points.】
【Subsequent upgrades: Additional Points can be consumed to upgrade the robot's intelligence level and functional modules.】
A management robot?
Su Wan's eyes lit up.
This was exactly what she needed!
As the number of tenants increased, she was indeed worried about what would happen in the building after she returned to Blue Star.
Without anyone watching, there was no guarantee that someone wouldn't target the convenience store's supplies or that internal conflicts wouldn't arise.
Although the “Absolute Safety Zone” ensured that the building and her personal room remained inviolable, fights between tenants and damage to public facilities would still seriously impact the shelter's operations and her income.
“Exchange!” Su Wan didn't hesitate for a second.
【Successfully exchanged “Basic Management Robot (Butler-C1).” Points consumed: 1,200. Current Points: 4,760.】
【Please select the robot's initial appearance and placement location.】
Su Wan chose the most inconspicuous dark grey metal shell, with an appearance similar to an old-era service robot but with more rugged lines.
The placement point was set in the first-floor lobby, next to the Star Coin Exchange Machine, which was the center of the public area.
With a flash of light, a dark grey robot about 1.6 meters tall with simple lines appeared silently at the designated spot.
Its head was a flat-circular sensor array emitting a faint blue scanning light, its torso had a few simple interfaces and indicator lights, and its base was equipped with silent rollers.
【Butler-C1 starting up... System binding complete.】
【Please perform initial settings: 1. Authorize management scope (sales permissions for the convenience store and medical station; access control hours). 2. Set basic rules (can be voice-input or transmitted via thought).】
Su Wan quickly configured the settings:
Authorize the robot to manage the daily sales of the convenience store and medical station, with prices following the system's suggested rates, and to record transactions and inventory;
Set the entire building to be sealed during the Death Tide and at night, with no entry or exit allowed except in emergencies;
During the day, the robot can open the fire doors according to tenant needs (but must record the person and the time);
Primary rule: Violence between tenants and the theft of public or others' property is strictly prohibited.
Once the settings were complete, the blue light in the robot's eyes stabilized, and it emitted a calm, synthesized electronic voice.
“Settings received. Butler-C1 is beginning its mission. I will maintain basic order for the Terminal Station for the Landlord.”
With this robot butler, Su Wan immediately felt much more at ease.
This way, while she was back on Blue Star, the shelter would have a reliable executor to maintain basic operations and record any problems that might occur for her to handle upon her return.
Only after finishing all this did she truly breathe a sigh of relief.
At that moment, Su Wan sensed a prying gaze.
She remained composed, slightly turning her body to look toward Room 112.
Behind that dark grey security door, Black Rat was staring at the newly generated medical station through a crack in the door.
Su Wan ignored him and walked straight back to her room.
Seeing Su Wan return, Black Rat's courage grew slightly.
The slight noise in the corridor earlier had caught his attention, and he couldn't help but peek through the crack.
What he saw nearly made his heart stop!
What was he looking at?
Creating something out of nothing? Or some kind of spatial teleportation technology?
Black Rat's understanding of reality was completely shattered.
If the methods used to punish Viper had terrified him before, then the ability to silently “manifest” a fully functional medical station made him tremble from his very soul with an unspeakable awe.
This was definitely not a power a human could possess!
At least, not a human as he understood them!
He abruptly pulled his head back, and the last bit of his unwillingness and calculation vanished into thin air.
He even began to feel lucky—lucky that he hadn't courted death like Viper, lucky that he had handed over the Crystal Core in time, and lucky that he still had the chance to stay in this place that was as safe as a miracle.
“I must find a way to stay...” Black Rat muttered to himself.
His gaze inadvertently swept over Viper, who was still unconscious and emitting a foul stench on the floor by the door.
A flash of disgust crossed his eyes, but then, a thought uncontrollably bubbled up.
Though greedy and ruthless, Viper had survived in the Ruin Zone for so long and must have hoarded plenty of good things, all of which he had hidden away.
If he could pry the location of the hidden treasure from Viper's mouth, then he would have more resources and could stay here for a longer time.
He wanted to wake Viper up, get the secret out, and then...
He glanced at Viper's ulcerated arm and lower leg, his gaze cold.
For such a useless person in this apocalypse, death might be a release—and it would mean one less person to share resources with.
