Chapter 295 · Volume 1

Newcomers, Check the Announcement First Upon Joining the Group

“One hundred people, huh? That’s not bad.”
Lan Qingyou nodded after hearing the number.
Tsk, tsk.
A single squad of a hundred people, and they were all top-tier academic elites?
One had to remember that when the Supreme Council first decided to distribute the Witch potions, they prioritized those with high learning capabilities because they had to consider the supply of potions.
And these individuals were the top hundred out of ten thousand.
This was evident from their Magic Eyes.
Most were support-type, and they were similar to Sophia’s Analytic Magic Eye and Lan Qingyou’s own Analytic Magic Eye (S).
Furthermore, their Potion-making had already reached D-grade, with some even reaching C-grade, capable of producing high-grade potions.
It was truly a case of birds of a feather flocking together.
The thought of herself, an academic elite who had only finished middle school, teaching this group of elites filled Lan Qingyou with a bit of pride.
“Alright everyone, since we are all witches, let’s talk about the construction of the magic circles in the Cursed Corridor.”
After her moment of pride, Lan Qingyou floated about ten meters off the ground so that all the witches present could see and hear her clearly.
“But before that... everyone, take out your identification cards and look at the pattern on the back.”
“Huh?”
Lan Qingyou’s seemingly random instruction left the witches confused.
Lan Qingyou didn’t explain much.
After descending, she scanned the pattern on the back of Sophia’s card, even though Sophia didn’t understand what she was doing.
A sudden invitation box popped up, giving Sophia a start.
“Ah?”
“What’s wrong?”
The surrounding witches crowded around to see what was happening and saw the invitation box on Sophia’s card.
“Witch’s Tea Party? This is...”
“A place for witches to exchange knowledge and learn from each other,” Lan Qingyou said with a smile, gesturing for her to enter.
Exchanging knowledge might not appeal to others, but for witches—especially a group of academic geniuses among elites—it was highly enticing.
Under the watchful eyes of those around her, Sophia clicked to join the group chat.
Witch of Poison (Admin): “A newcomer is here. Please change your name and then check the rules in the group announcement.”
Snowflake Witch: “Welcome.”
Black Earth Witch: “Welcome.”
Witch of Knowledge: “Welcome.”
...
After receiving their assignments yesterday, Susie and the others had left the Golden Plains overnight.
Though they hadn’t found any natural witches yet, they had used the Witch potions they carried to artificially evolve several.
Faced with such a free benefit, everyone they asked had immediately agreed.
Thus, several more witches had joined the group.
Their current priority was leveling up to secure a top-ten skill selection for next month.
Although they had Diana’s magic knowledge scrolls, Lan Qingyou was still busy.
Only when Lan Qingyou had time could they see if they could learn to craft magic scrolls themselves, allowing them to copy the Soul Siphon skill they had learned onto scrolls for others to study.
So, these dozen or so witches were basically moving together.
Seeing a newcomer, they immediately jumped in to chat.
It was perfect timing; they had just gathered and were about to enter a dungeon when the notification arrived.
So that’s how the nicknames are formatted in this group.
Sophia realized the situation after seeing the chat and the names.
She added the alias ‘Analytic Witch’ and read the rules about not harming one another before sending a very formal greeting.
Analytic Witch: “Thank you, everyone. A large number of witches might be joining shortly. I hope we can learn from each other in the future.”
Witch of Poison: “Sophia?”
Analytic Witch: “Is that... Susie?”
Witch of Poison: “It’s me.”
Analytic Witch: “...”
When she first saw ‘Witch of Poison,’ Sophia thought it was just a nickname and that there might be duplicates, but it turned out to be the person she actually knew.
Wasn’t this person supposed to be a branch president of some Adventurers’ Guild? How did she end up in the Witch’s Tea Party?
Had the Origin Witch met her before?
Judging by the different color of her alias and the way she spoke when she joined, she seemed to be an administrator.
Origin Witch: “By the way, Susie, I forgot to tell you. You’ve been officially appointed as the branch president of the Adventurers’ Guild in the Abandoned Land.”
The two old acquaintances had much to say, but Lan Qingyou’s sudden intervention cut their conversation short and left one of them completely stunned.
Witch of Poison: “Huh?”
Susie’s mouth hung open slightly. She had just resigned yesterday, and before a day had even passed, she was assigned a job today—and it was the same position as before?
Origin Witch: “Durandal, the President of the Supreme Council, has agreed to my demands. From today, the entire Abandoned Land officially becomes the legal autonomous territory of our Witch race. All internal operations, including the Adventurers’ Guild, will be taken over by the Witch race.”
Lan Qingyou mentioned Durandal specifically rather than the Supreme Council because she knew this was a concession from him personally, not the entire council.
The clever Susie understood this immediately.
Of course, understanding was one thing; accepting was another.
Witch of Poison: “...Are you kidding me? I just resigned from my position as branch president to go level up. I’m literally at the dungeon entrance right now, and you’re telling me this?”
Origin Witch: “It’s fine; it hasn’t been established yet anyway. Also, if you get tired of leveling, just connect to the teleportation point in the Witch’s Forest. It’s renovated from the Abandoned Forest.”
Witch of Poison: “Fine, I’ll go take a look after I finish this dungeon.”
Origin Witch: “Okay. I’ve put some potions in the group storage. Take them if you need them. I have to teach about a hundred witches now.”
Witch of Poison: “Wait, teaching?”
Origin Witch: “Yeah, I took a mission from the Supreme Council to build a massive magic circle in a special place. They sent 101 witches to learn and help out.”
Witch of Poison: “Hold on a second.”
Seeing that Lan Qingyou, the instructor, was about to start class, Susie immediately began discussing with the dozen witches in front of her.
Their goal was to level up, but they couldn’t miss such a rare opportunity for Lan Qingyou to give a lecture.
While Susie and the others were discussing, Sophia was already starting to feel a bit numb.
