Chapter 251 · Volume 1

Collecting Some Interest First

“Five.”
Yin Yang counted down in his heart.
Lyu Xiaofeng was simply too powerful—so powerful that even after Yin Yang bestowed humanity upon those lost souls, they couldn't hold out for long.
“Four.”
Wei Yu seized this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. His abdomen split open, and a long, slender proboscis thrust out like a bolt of lightning, piercing Lyu Xiaofeng’s lower abdomen.
“Three.”
Lyu Xiaofeng’s divinity was rapidly weakening, but even so, he refused to give up!
Clang!
With a single hand-blade strike, he severed the proboscis. He then forcibly ripped the remaining segment out of his body and hurled it back at Wei Yu like a javelin!
Pfft!
The segment of the proboscis impaled Wei Yu through the chest, and a thick, black blood oozed from the wound.
Lyu Xiaofeng didn't choose to deliver the finishing blow immediately. Instead, he looked down, searching for the sealed object!
That was the item he had only managed to seize after killing his sworn second brother’s entire family. It was also the foundation upon which he had relied to become the head of the Lyu family!
“Two.”
The dark shadow clinging to Lyu Xiaofeng was already on the verge of vanishing. There was nothing for it; Lyu Xiaofeng was truly too strong—strong enough to make one suspect he was already close to breaking through to Sequence 4.
Lyu Xiaofeng spotted the sealed object on the ground and felt a wave of relief.
But then, he saw a black hand snatch the sealed object!
Lyu Xiaofeng’s eyes nearly bulged out of his head, his heart racing wildly!
The energy of this sealed object was extreme Yang; how could it be held by such a dark, sinister power?
“One.”
Swoosh.
The sealed object vanished into thin air. Lyu Xiaofeng stood there, dumbfounded.
He had felt an ominous premonition earlier when the sealed object first malfunctioned, a feeling that if he let go, it would disappear forever. Now, it seemed his fears had come true.
“Aaaargh!!!”
He roared at the sky, his killing intent finally exploding beyond his control and spreading frantically in all directions.
The gold-masked man, Er Niang, and the bald man were instantly forced back. In the distance, the Lyu family guards and low-sequence ascenders who were still firing their weapons all collapsed into unconsciousness.
Inside the villa, the servants huddled on the floor, trembling uncontrollably.
If the house hadn't been protected by the powers of transcendent items, they would have passed out as well.
“Kill!”
Wei Yu charged at Lyu Xiaofeng once more, his mind filled with a single thought.
It didn't matter if he died, as long as he took Lyu Xiaofeng with him.
On the other side, the moment Yin Yang succeeded, he sprinted down the mountain.
The situation at the Lyu estate was already clear. With Lyu Xiaofeng and that gold-masked man there, those few Demigods were no match for them.
As time passed, the Security Bureau would definitely arrive. Once that happened, no one would be able to escape, so there was no point in him staying.
Besides, he had already achieved his goal for today. He had originally planned to lure some people into the Lyu estate to scout out their strength, but he hadn't expected such an unexpected windfall.
Not only had he obtained a sealed object, but he had also placed a brand on the treasure vault’s oil painting!
This meant Yin Yang could 'catch up' with the other party whenever he wanted. Perhaps if they had a pleasant chat, the other party might even gift him everything inside the oil painting?
As for the Lyu family, heh, he would take his time playing with them.
...
Lyu Xiaofeng was practically losing his mind after losing the sealed object. He couldn't sense its presence at all!
The power of a sealed object was immense; even if it were wrapped in gold, some aura would still leak out.
Because of this, sealed objects were usually kept in a Hidden Vault. Even if one couldn't find a proper Hidden Vault, they would at least need an independent space.
The Lyu family had spent a fortune to purchase that oil painting specifically to store the sealed object.
“Impossible, this is impossible.”
“He must still be nearby!”
Lyu Xiaofeng’s eyes were bloodshot as he scanned his surroundings. Even now, there were still people observing from outside the Lyu estate.
“It was you! You’re the ones who took my sealed object, aren't you?”
“Give it back to me!!!”
He lunged toward those people. Wei Yu took the opportunity to launch a fierce assault, hoping to kill Lyu Xiaofeng while he was blinded by rage.
Pfft!
A two-handed greatsword pierced through Wei Yu’s abdomen, followed by a horizontal sweep that nearly cut him in half at the waist.
But a centipede dies but never falls.
Wei Yu still wasn't dead, though he was vomiting large amounts of blood.
He stared at Lyu Xiaofeng with blood-red eyes, then grinned as his divinity began to boil.
“Fuck you!”
The bald man roared, grabbing Er Niang by the arm and fleeing.
This time, the gold-masked man didn't stop them, because even he didn't dare claim he could fully withstand the self-detonation of a Demigod.
Lyu Xiaofeng was about to explode with rage. He suspected the sealed object was in the hands of the people outside, but he had a literal bomb behind him that he had to deal with.
He had no choice, because the Lyu family estate was right nearby.
If he didn't handle this, the entire mountain would be leveled!
He could only grit his teeth and turn back to deal with Wei Yu’s self-detonation.
Under the combined efforts of him and the gold-masked man, Wei Yu didn't even manage to let out a final spark of light before he completely vanished from this world.
By then, the observers in the surrounding area had long since fled without a trace.
Even Er Niang and the bald man had disappeared.
The gold-masked man turned to Lyu Xiaofeng.
“Head of the family, should we pursue?”
Lyu Xiaofeng gritted his teeth hard.
If they pursued now, who knew if someone would turn back and strike them from behind?
Just as he was considering this, a car drove directly into the Lyu estate—it was a Security Bureau vehicle.
Once the car came to a stop, a captain stepped out from the passenger side, dragged an unlucky fellow from the back seat, and spoke.
“Mr. Lyu, the Security Bureau received a request from the Lyu family, so I’ve been sent to help.”
“I caught this guy acting suspiciously while I was coming up the mountain. See if he’s of any use to you?”
Lyu Xiaofeng stared at him intensely but didn't say a word.
...
Under the curtain of rain, Yin Yang walked alone through the streets of Huangshan City.
The rain drummed against his raincoat with a rhythmic pitter-patter.
“His strength is too great. It would probably take a Demigod on the level of Su Baadao to kill him.”
“Destroying the entire Lyu family will be very difficult.”
The shadow behind Yin Yang distorted, gradually splitting into four figures.
“But that’s fine. We’ve thoroughly muddied the waters tonight. The appearance of those three Demigods from the True Knowledge Society was a huge help.”
“With their reputation, I can kill as many members of the Lyu family as I want and pin it all on them.”
“Before we get our liver back, let’s collect a little interest first.”
...
At the Security Bureau.
“You’re saying the Lyu family lost a sealed object and wants us to help find it?”
“Yes.”
“He’s lost it. This is the first time I’ve ever heard of someone ‘losing’ a sealed object. Besides, if the Lyu family had a sealed object, why didn't they register it with our Security Bureau?”
The Bureau Chief’s expression was inscrutable.
“Only items registered with our Security Bureau are considered sealed objects.”
“Anything else is just a dangerous item of unknown origin. Once discovered, they are to be confiscated!”
The captain chuckled upon hearing this.
“Chief, should we look for it then?”
“Look for it? Of course we’ll look for it! However, we aren't looking for the Lyu family’s sealed object. We’re looking for a ticking time bomb that might pose a danger to the public. Understand?”
“Understood!”
