Chapter 207 · Volume 1

I'll Go!

The woman’s mind was a bit of a blur. A pest control worker was bandaging wounds?
She looked down at her husband. His face was still pale, but the wound had indeed stopped bleeding.
She held him tightly, thinking that it didn't matter if he was a pest control worker or not, as long as he could save lives!
While she was lost in thought, Yin Yang had already run quite a distance away.
“Praise be to the Lord of Rebirth and Communion!”
“Praise be to the Lord of Rebirth and Communion!”
A man was weeping as he held his young daughter. Both of them had just been trapped under a building, and it was the Lord of Rebirth and Communion who had performed a miracle to save them.
As he cried, he looked at the little girl's ankle.
It had been completely crushed flat, and jagged fragments of bone could be seen piercing through the skin. With collapsed buildings everywhere, even if he managed to get her to a hospital, they might be too overwhelmed to help. He knew deep down that his daughter's leg would likely have to be amputated.
At that thought, the man felt his heart shatter. He wished he could be the one losing a limb instead of her.
“Are you a believer of the Lord of Rebirth and Communion?”
A man's voice sounded. The father looked up to see a young man sprinting toward them with a medical kit in hand.
In that moment, hope flared within him. He nodded repeatedly.
Even though he knew it was almost impossible for his daughter to get surgery in this environment, he still held onto a shred of expectation. What if? What if it was actually possible?
“Yes, I am a believer of the Lord of Rebirth and Communion! It was the Lord of Rebirth and Communion who saved me!”
Yin Yang glanced at the girl's ankle.
“Consider yourself lucky,” he said.
As he spoke, he pulled a bottle of medicine from his medical kit. This was one of the free gifts a shopkeeper had given him when he was buying materials in Wanwu City.
Yin Yang cut open the girl's wound, the pain jolting her awake.
The father was terrified by the sight, but looking at the medical kit beside Yin Yang, he didn't know whether to stop him or help.
Yin Yang’s voice remained calm.
“Hold her down. Don't let her move. Her bones are shattered. I need to set them back in place before treating her, otherwise, even if she heals, she’ll be left with a permanent limp.”
“If you weren't a believer of the Lord of Rebirth and Communion, I wouldn't even bother.”
Hearing this, the man held his daughter even tighter, tears streaming down his face.
“Endure it. There’s no anesthetic in this kit!”
“Compared to losing a foot, the pain is worth it!”
As he spoke, Yin Yang forced the bone fragments back into place, the sheer agony causing the girl to faint and wake up again repeatedly.
Yin Yang knew it was cruel; he had experienced such pain himself. But he had no choice; he couldn't afford to expose his true identity.
“This is a healing ointment I prepared for my Cat Boss. It’s extremely expensive.”
He poured the medicine over the girl's wound.
Within seconds, the potion began to take effect. Strands of new flesh intertwined, lifting and securing the bones like a muscular bandage.
However, the potion's effect stopped there. It was a free gift, after all; one couldn't expect it to provide an instant, full recovery.
After disinfecting and bandaging the girl's wound, Yin Yang said, “The foot is fine now. It will return to normal after some rest. Just make sure she doesn't move it. I don't have any plaster here, so I can't stabilize it properly for you. It’s up to you now, understand?”
“I understand, I understand!”
The man nodded frantically, looking at Yin Yang as if he were a savior.
“Don't look at me like that. Perhaps this was all the Lord of Rebirth and Communion’s arrangement. He felt your piety, so he sent me to save you.”
Yin Yang shouldered his medical kit and continued running forward.
The man held his daughter, who had fainted from the pain, and sobbed uncontrollably.
“Lord of Rebirth and Communion... I shall be your most devout believer!”
Yin Yang glanced back as he ran. Activating his Perception skill, he saw that the man's image had changed, becoming just like those in his divine kingdom—slender bodies with oversized heads.
Another believer had joined his divine kingdom.
Yin Yang continued to weave through the streets and alleys, helping wherever he heard cries for help.
Before long, a security officer noticed him.
“Hey! Dong Yang!”
“Over here! Look over here!”
Yin Yang turned and saw Zheng Guang calling out to him.
Zheng Guang looked visibly exhausted, his lips cracked and peeling. He let out a sigh of relief when he saw Yin Yang notice him.
“Do you know first aid?”
“A little.”
“Come, we need your help!”
“Alright!”
Yin Yang didn't hesitate and followed him.
Zheng Guang led him through several turns to an open area where a few temporary tents had been set up.
Leading him into one of the tents, Zheng Guang said, “The roads have collapsed, and we're short on doctors. There are many people here with external injuries. Please help out.”
“No problem!”
Without a word of complaint, Yin Yang immediately began treating the wounds of the people inside the tent.
A doctor who had been handling the injuries looked surprised by his technique. “Your movements are very professional. Which school did you graduate from?”
“Central City Medical School.”
“Central City Medical School? Wow! Then why did you come to a small place like this?” He looked at Yin Yang’s clothes and added, “And why are you working for a pest control company?”
Yin Yang finished treating one person's wound and moved to the next without stopping. “Because I make more money this way.”
The surgeon clearly didn't believe him, but Zheng Guang, standing nearby, didn't doubt it for a second! As the security officer for the area where Yin Yang’s shop was located, he knew exactly how much money Yin Yang was raking in.
“Where’s Dr. Hu? Where is Dr. Hu?” A nurse pushed aside the tent flap, looking anxious.
“Mr. Hu was just pulled away for a surgery and hasn't returned yet. What’s the matter?” The surgeon stood up; he clearly knew the nurse.
She replied frantically, “There’s a patient in critical condition. They need surgery immediately.”
The surgeon’s expression turned grim. “What’s the situation?”
“Ruptured abdominal organs accompanied by hemorrhagic shock. We need to perform an emergency laparotomy.”
“Take me there. Where is the patient?”
“In the medical van.”
“Wait, the medical van?” The surgeon stopped in his tracks. At a time like this, anyone who could get into a medical van was no ordinary person.
“Yes.”
“Who is the patient?”
“Huang Yuanshan!”
Upon hearing the name, the surgeon spoke decisively. “I can't do it. I’ve never performed surgery in a medical van before. Going now would be irresponsible to the patient. It’s better to have him wait for Dr. Hu.”
The nurse grew even more anxious, but Yin Yang could sense it—the surgeon was afraid!
It was because Huang Yuanshan was a significant figure in Mangliang City.
“Huang Yuanshan? Why is he here?” Zheng Guang couldn't help but ask.
The nurse explained, “I heard he was visiting some old employees, and then the earthquake hit.”
Yin Yang narrowed his eyes. Huang Yuanshan had a decent reputation. It wasn't that he was a saint, but rather that he didn't exploit the poor or the common people.
“I'll go!”
Yin Yang stood up decisively. A wealthy patron would be very helpful for spreading his faith.
