Chapter 13 · Volume 1

Your Bird is Gone, Both of Them!

Jiang Ye leaped lightly onto the white stone arena.
Once he was steady, he pulled out the low-grade Magic Treasure sword that Sima Kong had “gifted” him before dying from his spatial ring.
“Hey, can we start?”
“Then, Junior Sister, your Senior Brother shall show you the way!”
Murong Peng smiled sleazily, not taking a newly joined disciple seriously at all.
Only now did Jiang Ye have the time to carefully feel the Earth-grade low-tier cultivation method he had learned earlier, the 《Purple Heaven Thunder Art》.
Combined with his Lightning Heavenly Spiritual Root, the Earth-grade true qi refined by this cultivation method caused his strength to skyrocket once again!
Jiang Ye calculated happily in his mind:
“This damage boost is probably around twofold, right? If I were to go chop that Sima Tub now, I’d probably need dozens fewer slashes!”
Dealing with a small fry like this, he didn’t waste any words. With a quick slide and step, he instantly rushed right in front of Murong Peng!
“So fast!?”
Although Murong Peng was slightly surprised, the sleazy grin on his face didn’t fade.
He didn’t even mobilize the Fiery Bird beside him. Raising his large saber with his right hand, he chopped down fiercely, while his filthy left hand actually reached forward in an incredibly vulgar manner, clearly trying to take advantage of her.
Clang!
Another extremely crisp sound of clashing metal echoed throughout the entire arena.
The moment they heard this sound, the Sword Peak senior brothers and sisters who had just returned from Luopo Village below the stage already started waving their hands in celebration.
The other Sword Peak disciples nearby were completely baffled. Junior Sister Bai has only just made one move, what the hell are you celebrating?
Only those who had returned from Luopo Village knew that Junior Sister Bai had chopped down a mid-stage Foundation Establishment cultivator amidst these constant clang, clang, clang sounds. This metal-striking sound had basically become Junior Sister Bai’s built-in entrance theme music.
“Aaaaargh—!!”
Sure enough.
In the next second, a shriek so agonizing it didn’t even sound human rang out.
Under everyone’s astonished gazes, Murong Peng’s filthy left hand flew high into the air, still frozen in that disgusting grabbing posture.
Thud. The severed hand landed at the edge of the arena.
“My hand! My hand, aaaaargh!!”
With a heavy thud, Murong Peng fell to his knees. Clutching his wildly spurting wrist with his remaining hand, his face went pale with agony. His features contorted as he screamed hysterically toward the side:
“Fiery Bird, attack!! Tear her to shreds for me!”
“Screeech—!!”
The red demon bird, standing over two meters tall with eyes full of savage cruelty, let out a piercing screech as the flames enveloping its body erupted violently.
Its massive body transformed into a scorching fireball, carrying the violent pressure of the Foundation Establishment realm as it charged straight at Jiang Ye!
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The hair-raising, metal-striking sounds echoed across the arena once more.
The Earth-grade true qi refined within Jiang Ye’s body now carried lightning attributes, drastically increasing the power of both his parries and counterattacks.
In his own words, his “longsword was now enchanted.”
The person and the bird instantly clashed in a fierce battle on the arena.
Yet that ferocious, brutal Tier Two Fiery Bird couldn’t even graze the corner of Jiang Ye’s clothes, all while Jiang Ye repeatedly drew its blood.
Below the stage, Chu Qianfeng frowned as he watched. The strength Bai Zhirou was displaying didn’t seem right.
Because he had personally witnessed this Junior Sister Bai locking the mid-stage Foundation Establishment Sima Lie in place and “giving him a pedicure.”
But now... every single strike Bai Zhirou made precisely avoided the massive bird’s throat, heart, and other vital spots, as if she were merely toying with her prey.
While the battle between the two sides was in full swing, Murong Peng had already shiveringly swallowed several healing pills at the edge of the arena, barely managing to stop the bleeding from his severed wrist.
With a face as distorted as a ghost, he picked up his long saber from the ground and charged toward the white-clothed back currently engaged in combat with the Fiery Bird!
“Junior Sister Bai, watch your back!!” the Sword Peak disciples below the stage cried out in alarm.
However, it was as if Jiang Ye had eyes on the back of his head.
Without even turning his head, he sidestepped, dodging right past the blade’s edge.
The moment they crossed paths, Jiang Ye swung his sword backward, slicing viciously right beneath Murong Peng’s crotch.
Rip. Fabric tore.
Murong Peng fell flat on his back, his body splayed out. Instantly losing the “little dot” between his legs, he went from a “complete man” to an “incomplete” one in an instant.
His eyes bulged like dead fish. Feeling the excruciating pain from below, he clutched his crotch with one hand and curled up like a shrimp, letting out a painful, gargling wheeze from his throat.
After slicing off the junk, Jiang Ye didn’t stop. Using the momentum of his spin, he delivered a backhand strike. With a wet squelch, his longsword plunged deep into the Fiery Bird’s belly.
The lightning-attributed Earth-grade true qi erupted completely!
Crackling arcs of lightning surged madly through the blade into the Fiery Bird’s body. Before it could even screech, its feathers stood on end from the shock, and its eyes rolled back.
With a heavy thud, it collapsed onto the ground like a heap of mud, twitching violently.
In the center of the arena, Jiang Ye curled his lips and said with malicious playfulness, “Your bird is gone. Both of them.”
Still clutching his crotch tightly with one hand, Murong Peng staggered to his feet.
He glared at Bai Zhirou, his eyes filled with hysterical madness and humiliation.
“My grandfather is... Argh!”
Before he could finish his threat, Jiang Ye delivered a swift kick with a size 6 foot, putting him right to sleep.
Below the arena, the few Beast-Taming Peak disciples who had been jeering alongside Murong Peng moments ago instantly fell silent.
Their mouths hung wide open, their expressions highly amusing, their eyes filled with absolute disbelief.
As for the dozens of sword cultivators around them, except for the dozen or so who had returned from Luopo Village with Jiang Ye, everyone else was stunned speechless, staring blankly as they murmured:
“She actually... won a one-on-two!”
“Isn’t Junior Sister Bai only at the ninth layer of Qi Condensation? How did she beat a Tier Two demon beast with Foundation Establishment combat power to a pulp?!”
One had to know that during the Qi Condensation stage, disciples of the Beast-Taming Peak were universally acknowledged as an absolute cheat code.
After all, ordinary Qi Condensation cultivators barely knew any spells. If they tried to clash with a thick-skinned, fire-breathing, or poison-spitting demon beast using nothing but a basic iron sword, nine out of ten would end up as the main course at their own funeral.
This was exactly why everyone had been so indignant. Murong Peng clearly possessed a demon beast with Foundation Establishment strength, yet he had the thick skin to challenge Qi Condensation cultivators like them, spewing filth on the arena when no one accepted.
The Sword Peak disciples stared at the white-clothed girl on the arena with faces full of admiration.
Meanwhile, Bai Zhirou (Jiang Ye) squatted down on the arena as if no one else were there, curiously examining the unconscious Fiery Bird and poking it from time to time.
Just then, a few Beast-Taming Peak disciples with their necks shrunk walked onto the arena with lowered heads, trembling with fear.
One of them quickly hoisted the unconscious Murong Peng onto his back, while another swiftly picked up the severed hand from the ground and stuffed it into his robes.
The last one shuffled in front of Jiang Ye with trembling legs, swallowed hard, and said in a shaky voice:
“Th-That... Junior Sister Bai, I’m here to... take the Fiery Bird back.”
Jiang Ye didn’t even lift his eyelids, coldly spitting out a single word:
“Scram.”
“Right away!”
Before his voice even faded, the disciple turned around and bolted without another word, as if he had just made a life-altering decision.
Amidst a wave of boos from below the stage, the disciples of the Beast-Taming Peak fled in utter embarrassment.
