Chapter 12 · Volume 1

Interested in My Big Bird?

Soon, Chu Qianfeng led everyone to their destination—Hidden Sword Peak.
The peak had a peculiar shape. From afar, it looked like an ancient giant sword thrust straight into the earth, radiating a sharp and weathered sword intent, appearing exceptionally grand.
Bai Zhirou curiously looked around along the way. After all, she was still just a young girl, unable to hide her curiosity upon seeing such sights.
Meanwhile, Ye Ningning acted like a dedicated tour guide, sticking close to Bai Zhirou's side and endlessly introducing the sect's affairs to her.
Walking in front, Chu Qianfeng turned back and saw Bai Zhirou's harmless, innocent, and bright smile, letting out a quiet sigh of relief.
It seemed he had been overthinking!
This Junior Sister Bai was actually very gentle at heart. Her extreme bloodlust earlier was probably just because she had been kidnapped by those evil cultivators of the Yin-Yang Sect and loathed them to the core.
However.
The moment they stepped into Hidden Sword Peak's outer gate plaza, a wave of noisy clamor washed over them.
Around a massive white stone arena in the center, a dense crowd of people had gathered, packed several layers deep.
Chu Qianfeng frowned and led the group forward to see what was happening.
In the center of the arena stood a rough-looking, dark-skinned brute with a bare torso.
Standing beside him was a red demon bird. It was over two meters tall, its feathers blazing like roaring fire, and its eyes filled with savage cruelty.
Opposite them, a male and female disciple wearing Sword Peak robes were in a miserable state, their clothes tattered as they frantically dodged the towering flames spewed by the massive bird.
Thud!
With a heavy, muffled sound, the rough brute grinned savagely and swung his saber with immense force, sending the sword in the female Sword Peak disciple's hand flying.
“Hahaha! The swords of Sword Peak aren't very sharp either! Seems they're nothing special!”
Shouldering his large saber, the brute laughed boastfully. “Two of you fighting just one of me, and you couldn't even touch a single feather of my Fiery Bird!”
As he spoke, a lustful gleam flashed in his eyes. He used his large, calloused hand to heavily slap the female disciple's buttocks!
Slap!
The crisp slapping sound echoed across the arena.
Humiliated by this indecent gesture, the female disciple quickly covered her backside and took several steps back. Her pretty face flushed from white to red with rage as she pointed at the brute and cried out, “You... you shameless rogue!!”
The male disciple beside her had a dark expression, his fists clenched so tightly his knuckles turned white.
But looking at the massive disparity in strength between them and the dark-skinned brute and his Tier Two demon beast, he could only swallow his anger, lowering his head in humiliation.
“We... admit defeat!”
Seeing this, the dark-skinned brute grew even more arrogant. He paced around the arena boastfully with his saber on his shoulder.
He spat disdainfully toward the dozens of Sword Peak disciples below.
“Who else?!”
Below the arena, several disciples from the Beast-Taming Peak stood with their arms crossed, unable to hide their smug expressions.
On the other hand, the Sword Peak disciples all had grim faces, their fists clenching so hard they popped.
“Where is Junior Sister Qin?” Chu Qianfeng asked in a low voice with a dark expression, questioning a nearby disciple.
The disciple replied with a face full of frustration, “Senior Sister Gu took Junior Sister Qin and the others out for a mission this morning. They aren't on the peak at all.”
Another disciple added through gritted teeth, “Those bastards from the Beast-Taming Peak did this on purpose! They knew Senior Sister Gu led the team away, so they picked this exact time to come and stir up trouble!”
Chu Qianfeng's brow furrowed tightly. Looking at the arrogant brute on the stage, he took a step forward, channeling his true qi to shout:
“Junior Brother Murong, I see your Fiery Bird is already a Tier Two demon beast. How about I, Chu, step up and exchange a few blows with you?”
On the arena, the dark-skinned brute, Murong Peng, gave Chu Qianfeng a half-smile and spoke in a sarcastic, mocking tone:
“Oh, if it isn't Senior Brother Chu. But I recall the sect rules state that fellow disciples should only spar within the same realm. I'm merely at the ninth layer of Qi Condensation. Isn't it a bit inappropriate for an official Foundation Establishment cultivator like you to step down and fight me?”
The male disciple who had just stepped down, clutching his chest, couldn't help but curse, “That Tier Two Fiery Bird of yours has combat power equivalent to the Foundation Establishment realm! How can you be so shameless?!”
Hearing this, Murong Peng didn't feel the slightest bit of shame. Instead, he raised his head high and sneered triumphantly:
“The demon beasts of our Beast-Taming Peak are just like the swords you Sword Peak disciples hold! It's my lifebound magic treasure! If you have the ability, go get yourself a top-grade magic tool as well! A bunch of poor bastards—if you can't afford to play, just say so!”
“You... you!” The male disciple was so choked with rage that he nearly spat blood on the spot.
Murong Peng scoffed disdainfully, then stood in the center of the arena, scanning the crowd with a proud expression.
Suddenly.
His gaze locked onto a certain spot in the crowd.
There, Bai Zhirou was staring with bright, wide eyes, curiously examining the massive flaming bird on the stage.
As a gentle breeze blew, the girl's cascading long hair swayed gently. Her incredibly beautiful face, completely free of makeup, looked like a bright moon in the night sky against the backdrop of the rough men around her.
Murong Peng's gaze drifted downward, instantly spotting the grey iron token hanging from her waist with the words "Outer Gate" carved on it.
Clearly, she was a newcomer who had just joined the outer gate.
Lust instantly flared in Murong Peng's heart. He rubbed his rough, calloused hands together and gave Bai Zhirou a sleazy grin:
“Little Junior Sister, I see you've been staring at my big bird for a long time. Are you very interested? Why don't you come up to the stage and... play with Senior Brother?”
Whoosh!
In an instant, the eyes of over a hundred people in the crowd all focused on Bai Zhirou.
A chorus of sharp gasps and murmurs of admiration immediately rippled through the surroundings.
Bai Zhirou had never experienced such a scene in her life. Suddenly being stared at by so many people, she panicked instantly. Her pretty face flushed slightly, and she lowered her head, completely flustered.
However.
Seeing this, the Sword Peak disciples who had just returned from Luopo Village didn't show any anger. Instead, their expressions turned extremely bizarre, and they even looked at him with a hint of pity and anticipation of his misfortune.
In her mind, Jiang Ye curled his lips:
“Tsk, Little Bai, so useless. Teased by some bird-playing mob the moment you get here. You'd better let me play the account.”
In the next second, the girl's head slowly rose.
Her clear eyes were now filled with amusement and playfulness.
Bai Zhirou (Jiang Ye) tilted her head slightly, a smile playing on her lips as she laughed:
“Sure.”
To Murong Peng on the stage, this sweet “sure” made his very bones feel weak with pleasure.
“Haha, Junior Sister is straightforward!”
Murong Peng's sleazy grin widened even further. He extended his left hand in a mock gentlemanly gesture, making a “please come up” motion.
Jiang Ye stepped forward with a casual, confident stride.
From behind, Chu Qianfeng's voice suddenly rang out: “This is a sect spar. By the rules, stop before causing lethal harm. No killing.”
Hearing this, Murong Peng thought Chu Qianfeng was afraid he would beat this little junior sister to death. He immediately cupped his hands smugly:
“Don't worry, Senior Brother Chu! I will definitely... go... easy... on... her! Hahaha!”
His lustful, filthy eyes were glued to Bai Zhirou's graceful figure.
He completely failed to notice that Chu Qianfeng and the dozen or so Sword Peak disciples behind him were looking at him with incredibly bizarre expressions.
