What kind of strange feeling was that? Was it because it was too much fun?
If any other child had said that, the answer would almost certainly be that it was fun.
But Rose was a strange child. Her answer might not be as simple as it appeared on the surface.
Olivia pondered for a moment and whispered in her heart.
'Magic mirror, magic mirror, what was the final outcome of the negotiations between the Church and Paradise?'
Previously, people from Paradise had specifically sought her out, asking her to help convey goodwill to the Church.
After that, the matter of Paradise was no longer the responsibility of Ronan's squad. She didn't know what kind of negotiations had actually taken place between the Radiant Light Church and Paradise.
The Church hadn't said anything, but if she wanted to know, she could naturally find out.
【The Church and Paradise have reached an agreement. The Church will not target Paradise, but Paradise cannot increase its number of visitors. Furthermore, the current list of visitors must be provided to the Church. Finally, the Church requires a portion of the visitor slots to arrange for its own people to enter Paradise, ensuring the situation is monitored at all times to guarantee Paradise does not threaten the Church.】
Seeing the magic mirror's answer, Olivia was slightly startled.
The Church had actually compromised with the existence of Paradise?
She thought about it and realized this arrangement seemed logical. After all, the Church currently had far too many matters to handle and was severely short-staffed.
Since Paradise had expressed goodwill, and its backer, Dreamland Paradise, was not an enemy but a transcendent organization recognized by the Church, there was no reason for the Church to waste manpower on Paradise in the current environment.
'The Church can't truly be at ease with Paradise. It's just that the current Church isn't in a position to do anything against them unless Kaliron returns to its former peace.'
Olivia understood.
Since the Church was still uneasy about Paradise, she naturally wouldn't be at ease either.
She immediately said to Rose, "Rose, that place called Paradise is a bit strange. Can you stop going there from now on?"
Rose was stunned for a moment, then thought about it and said, "Since Sister Nun doesn't want me to go, I won't go for now."
Facing someone who could remember her, Rose inevitably felt a special connection and was quite receptive to Olivia's words.
Olivia breathed a sigh of relief.
'Magic mirror, is Rose on the list Paradise provided to the Church?'
【No.】
'Does Paradise still remember Rose's existence?'
【No.】
As expected.
Perhaps Paradise seeking out Rose before was just a coincidence; they might have truly treated Rose as an ordinary person.
And now, of course, because of Rose's personal characteristics, they had forgotten her.
"By the way, do you know about Paradise?" Olivia looked at Annie beside her.
While Olivia and Rose were talking, Annie had been listening silently, her face unreadable.
Hearing the question now, Annie sneered. "Why don't you guess?"
Seeing that Annie had no intention of communicating properly, Olivia curled her lip and directly asked the magic mirror for the answer in her heart.
【She does not know.】
Seeing the answer given by the magic mirror, Olivia smiled. "If you don't know, then forget it."
"What makes you think I don't know? With my status, how many things can be hidden from me?" Annie's tone was slightly provocative.
Olivia didn't bother with Annie. Since the magic mirror said Annie didn't know, then Annie definitely didn't know.
Her attention returned to Rose. "Rose, I bought you some new clothes. Go take a bath and put them on. The ones you're wearing... aren't exactly clean anymore."
Rose nodded, not refusing.
Seeing this, Annie frowned instead. She didn't understand why Olivia was so certain that she didn't know anything about Paradise.
But she soon lost the mood to think about it because Rose was pulling her toward the bathroom.
"Wait a minute, can't you let go of me while you're bathing? Bathing is a very private matter," Annie said seriously.
"You're bathing with me," Rose said expressionlessly.
"With you?" Annie frowned.
"No, with me too," Olivia said with a slight smile. "I'll help you both wash."
"No need," Annie refused without hesitation.
Rose, however, nodded and said, "Thank you, Sister Nun."
She had agreed.
As long as Rose agreed, Annie's opinion didn't matter.
The three of them headed to the bathroom, though Annie was dragged there by force, causing her face to darken again as anger grew uncontrollably.
...
Olivia really enjoyed making Annie angry.
After confirming that Annie couldn't pose a threat to her, she naturally wouldn't let such an anger extraction machine go to waste. Emotions from a powerful transcendent were truly more useful than those from ordinary people or weak transcendents.
She felt that by provoking Annie a few more times, her anger seed might bloom in a very short time. The time required might be far less than the time it took for the pain seed to bloom.
Before long, Olivia finished helping Rose bathe.
She brought out two completely different sets of clothes for Rose and Annie.
The clothes for Rose were naturally made of much better material.
The off-white round-neck blouse with embroidered patterns on the collar fit perfectly. It was paired with a light blue thin wool vest with lace trim along the edges. The buttons on the front were pale gold and shaped like little bells, giving it a cute feel.
For the bottom, there was a light brown long skirt reaching down to her calves with a wavy pattern design.
Wearing this outfit, Rose looked like a child from a middle-class family; no one would ever think she looked like a beggar again.
As for Annie, Olivia provided a maid outfit.
When she saw the maid outfit placed before her, Annie felt her emotions explode like a volcano.
Considering Rose was beside her, she gritted her teeth and said, "Give me back my original dress."
"Either wear this or go naked. You don't have a third choice," Olivia refused Annie without hesitation.
"Fine, fine, fine. This is how you're going to treat me, right? You just wait! Just you wait!"
Gritting her teeth and filled with intense anger, Annie put on the maid outfit.
The black and white maid outfit was a very common style. On Annie, it actually made her look quite pretty and charming; she didn't lose much of her luster just because she was wearing a maid's uniform.
This made Olivia curl her lip, thinking that transcendents of the Evolver class were truly cheaters, being able to use supernatural means to make themselves look good.
'Then again, an Ascetic at the Pilgrim rank has the Body Control ability. This ability gets stronger as the class rank increases. It seems we're even bigger cheaters.'
Olivia thought of this point.
She touched her own face... well, it seemed she didn't have any need to use supernatural means to make herself beautiful.
