Chapter 334 · Volume 1

The Goddess of Creation

The Radiant Goddess's words were like a sudden clap of thunder, leaving both Olivia and Rose in a state of utter shock.
Divine Creations had become forbidden artifacts?
Was this the origin of forbidden artifacts?
Olivia didn't quite grasp the logic behind it; she felt that the divine rule established by the Goddess of Creation was more like a natural law.
This was an ability to forcibly change natural laws through individual power and make the laws function accordingly.
The changes caused by this were so profound that they continued to function even after the Goddess of Creation had fallen, though her fall had caused these effects to undergo a mutation.
The Radiant Goddess spoke with a hint of lament, "The Goddess of Creation was seeking more possibilities, which is why she attempted such a feat."
"However, changing natural laws with the power of an individual is simply too difficult. This caused her to suffer a certain degree of backlash, which was why she underwent self-extinguishment even without any external enemies."
"And you, Rose, are the daughter of the Goddess of Creation."
The Radiant Goddess finally revealed the truth about Rose's situation.
Such an answer was incredibly shocking and profound.
Regarding Rose's origins, Olivia had made many guesses in the past, and had even had the magic mirror make its own judgments, but not a single one of those conclusions matched the facts presented now.
This lineage was something that would have been unthinkable in the past.
The daughter of a deity—such a status was far too noble, naturally leaving one beyond stunned.
"Then who is Rose's father?" Olivia couldn't help but ask.
This question made the Radiant Goddess roll her eyes. "If a deity wishes to conceive an heir, what need is there for natural procreation? Rose has no father; she only has a mother, the Goddess of Creation."
Olivia understood.
The Radiant Goddess continued, "The Goddess of Creation must have sensed that something was wrong with her own state at the time. To change something, she chose to conceive you."
"However, precisely because her state was already compromised, the version of you she conceived was not entirely normal, which led to you enduring quite a bit of hardship."
The Radiant Goddess was already familiar with Rose's past. Within the Radiant Light Church's intelligence network, there were no secrets from her; she knew everything that had happened to Rose.
This answer caused Rose to fall into a deep silence.
She now knew her origins, and they were quite extraordinary.
But what would happen next?
Rose couldn't help but feel a sense of aimlessness. Even though she knew where she came from, it didn't seem like she could change anything.
The Radiant Goddess's voice drifted over again. "Rose, suddenly learning such a thing must be quite a shock for you, isn't it?"
"Go and rest for a while. Take your time to process this information."
"As for the path ahead, I believe you will be able to find it once you have digested all of this."
Hearing the Radiant Goddess's words, Rose nodded. She then turned and walked out of the palace, step by step.
Before long, only two people remained in the palace.
The Radiant Goddess's gaze fell upon Olivia.
"Your performance earlier was quite good. It was well worth the effort I spent shifting your transcendent path from Ascetic to Child of God before the competition between the gods."
"It is all thanks to your grace, Goddess."
"Next, you can become a Controller. A Child of God does not need to undergo any advancement ritual to become a Controller; I can simply raise you up myself. Are you prepared?"
"What preparations do I need to make?"
Olivia was momentarily stunned, then asked cautiously.
The Radiant Goddess smiled and said, "Transcendents of the Controller class rank will all hear various forms of Divine Language in their subconscious."
"In truth, those so-called Divine Languages were not left behind by us gods, but are a language of laws emanating from the natural laws of the world itself."
"As a Child of God who possesses divine power, you should already be able to hear this language in a blurred form. Once you become a Controller, you will be able to hear it much more clearly."
"This is a good thing for you, but it is also a burden."
"Having voices of unknown meaning constantly appearing in your ear is a rather frustrating experience, especially since this language carries transcendent power that can affect you."
"In the past, there have been Controllers who were driven to madness and even death by the influence of the Divine Language."
"Beings who reach this step possess the peak of transcendent power, but listening to the Divine Language is an unavoidable negative side effect."
"Of course, listening to the Divine Language more can also make a Controller stronger. There are benefits to be found within it, but the negative effects far outweigh the rewards."
The Radiant Goddess explained the circumstances faced by the Controller class rank in great detail.
After listening, Olivia thought for a moment and then asked, "After becoming a Controller, if one can withstand the influence of the Divine Language, can they eventually break through the transcendent limit and become an angel?"
Hearing Olivia's question, the Radiant Goddess couldn't help but laugh. "You have it wrong. That is not how angels are born."
"Angels are personally created by the gods. Their former selves might have been Controllers, Destroyers, or even Evolvers."
"A god can intervene and modify them, turning them into angels with strength that can even surpass a Controller."
"However, an angel can only ever be an angel; they will never be able to advance further."
"Edith and the others you saw were all transcendents and my followers in the past."
This answer caught Olivia completely by surprise; she had never imagined such a situation.
She had assumed that angels were an intermediate stage between transcendents and gods.
As if sensing Olivia's thoughts, the Radiant Goddess continued, "Some things may challenge your understanding, but you must remember them."
"If a transcendent jumps beyond the limits of their mortality and breaks through the Controller rank, then that being will directly become a deity!"
"Yes, you heard correctly. Above the Controller is the deity!"
"However, precisely because there is no transition between the two, and the difference in power is like heaven and earth, this process has become an almost unbridgeable chasm."
"Throughout the long ages from ancient times to the present, the number of people who have been able to cross this chasm and become a deity is incredibly small."
"Even if you count the fallen gods, there have not been many deities in existence."
Olivia was left dumbfounded by what she heard.
Above the Controller was actually the deity?
It was hard to believe that two stages with such a massive disparity in strength were actually adjacent to one another.
The impact of this news was so strong that Olivia couldn't help but fall into silence.
