The magic mirror quickly provided the answer.
【At the Pilgrim rank, a Dreamwalker possesses the abilities: Dream Bridge, Dream Shadow, Sleeping Spell, Dream Entry, and Balance Control.】
【Dream Bridge allows the user to construct a bridge in front of them that only they can see. They can walk upon it even if there is no physical support, though it is not long-lasting and the bridge is quite short.】
【Dream Shadow can create an identical phantom of the user. This Dream Shadow can exist to the user's left or right, acting as a substitute while the user enters a state similar to invisibility.】
【Sleeping Spell can forcibly induce drowsiness in a target, plunging them into sleep.】
【Dream Entry allows the user to enter the dreams of someone who is already deep in sleep.】
【Balance Control allows a Dreamwalker to walk on rugged and steep terrain as if it were level ground.】
Olivia's gaze swept over the text.
The Dreamwalker's abilities were numerous and appeared quite bizarre, fitting her impression of this transcendent pathway.
'Right, he might not just be a Pilgrim. Magic mirror, magic mirror, tell me the Dreamwalker's abilities at the Sensate rank.'
【At the Sensate rank, a Dreamwalker possesses the abilities: Dream Traverse, Dream Theft, Dream Guiding, Lullaby, and Nightmare Invasion.】
【Dream Traverse allows a Dreamwalker to shuttle back and forth between the dreams of different people.】
【Dream Theft allows a Dreamwalker to seize a target's dream. The stolen dream can be implanted into another person's dream; it cannot exist for long if not implanted.】
【Dream Guiding allows a Dreamwalker to induce changes in another person's dream based on the target's own memories, making it easy to uncover their private secrets.】
【Lullaby is an advanced version of the Sleeping Spell. Although not as subtle as the Sleeping Spell, its mutter-like singing will make everyone who hears it want to fall into a deep sleep.】
【Nightmare Invasion can create an enemy visible only to the target, tailored to the target's own circumstances.】
As Olivia scanned the information, she felt overwhelmed by the sheer volume of it.
'So stealing beautiful dreams is an ability only a Sensate has? Then this guy is definitely a Sensate. He shouldn't be a Transcender; otherwise, there would be no need for him to run from Deacon Ronan and the others.'
Olivia pondered.
Her attention lingered on Dream Guiding for a moment. She felt this ability would be extremely useful for interrogations. Perhaps there were Dreamwalkers belonging to the church inside the Radiant Light Church's interrogation rooms?
Amidst her shifting thoughts, Olivia finally found an opportunity.
Some crates were stacked along the street ahead. They weren't arranged neatly, but they could serve as a makeshift staircase, allowing someone to quickly reach the rooftops from the ground.
Glancing at the Dreamwalker running across the roofs, Olivia sprinted forward. During the process, she empowered herself with a Lightness Talisman. Stepping onto the crates with extreme agility, she quickly reached the roof and blocked the Dreamwalker's path.
Only then did she notice the other person was wearing a black mask, obscuring their features.
Even though the opponent was a Sensate, Olivia still pulled the Cross Grace from her necklace and moved to meet him. She only needed to stall him for a moment to allow Ronan and the others to catch up.
"Sleep!" the Dreamwalker suddenly spoke, his deep voice drifting through the air.
Was that spoken in Sylvan Runes?
Olivia immediately recognized the language and simultaneously activated the Refresher Talisman she had prepared.
Just as a wave of drowsiness surfaced, a shimmer of clear light enveloped her, dispelling the fatigue that clung to her.
However, the dispelling wasn't complete; she still felt a bit sleepy. But it wasn't enough to significantly affect her combat strength. She thrust the Cross Grace forward, her offensive remaining sharp.
"Eh?"
This response seemed to surprise the Dreamwalker. He stopped his advance and leaped backward to avoid the attack.
Olivia followed him like a shadow, continuing her thrust. Her movements were swift—so swift that the opponent seemingly had no time to react. It looked as though she was about to strike him.
But Olivia's heart stirred. Recalling the Dreamwalker's abilities, she speculated that he might have used another skill while jumping back. What she saw before her might be a decoy-like illusion; otherwise, he shouldn't be standing there without any attempt to dodge.
Dream Shadow?
Olivia remembered that when this ability was used, the Dreamwalker themselves could only exist to the left or right of the phantom. So, was it the left or the right?
Olivia's reaction was lightning-fast. Her other hand had already pulled out a Wind-Chanting Talisman and activated it.
Whether it was left or right, the wind would provide the answer!
A violent gust of wind blew forward. The distinct flapping sound of clothes caught in the wind reached her ears.
The right!
Olivia abruptly changed the direction of her Cross Grace, pointing it diagonally to the right. She lunged forward and felt as though she had pierced something.
In the next instant, the illusion shattered, and the Dreamwalker's true form was revealed. He was in the middle of a crouch—well, only half a crouch, because his clothes had been pierced at the shoulder, snagging him.
Although Olivia's strike had come suddenly, the Dreamwalker still managed to avoid injury with startling reflexes, only letting his clothes be torn through.
Behind that black mask, the Dreamwalker's eyes held considerable astonishment. He clearly hadn't expected Olivia to counter his abilities so effectively.
He then retreated sharply to put distance between them, pulling his clothes free from the Cross Grace.
Olivia didn't pursue him further because Ronan and the others had arrived. they quickly fanned out, blocking all of the Dreamwalker's escape routes.
Staring at the figure of the Dreamwalker, Ronan asked in a deep voice, "Are you from Dreamland Paradise?"
Dreamwalkers belonged to a relatively rare supernatural pathway, and most of them were members of the organization known as Dreamland Paradise. That was why Ronan asked.
The Dreamwalker showed no intention of answering. Instead, he began to hum low, as if singing. He was still using Sylvan Runes.
"Use Refresher Talismans!"
Almost the moment the Dreamwalker began his low chant, Ronan pulled out a Refresher Talisman made by Olivia and used it.
Raymond, Rocas, and the newly arrived Vanessa hurriedly took out their own Refresher Talismans.
Olivia's movements were even a bit faster than Ronan's. She knew that among the Dreamwalker's abilities was one called Lullaby, which was essentially a mass-scale Sleeping Spell. They had to have the corresponding means to resist it.
Yet, after the Refresher Talismans had taken effect on everyone, the Dreamwalker's humming didn't change at all. In fact, it gradually rose from a low murmur to a high-pitched chant.
This caused a look of confusion to cross Olivia's face... Was this not Lullaby?
If it wasn't Lullaby, then what was it?
She deciphered his Sylvan Runes, picking out words like 'dream', 'pleasure', 'paradise', and 'happiness'.
As for Ronan, he lunged straight at the man, his eyes full of cold severity.
Right then...
Olivia felt her vision blur. The world in her eyes changed entirely. The crimson moon and the night disappeared. The single-story houses of Aus Street and the visible Morning Dew Park vanished as well.
In just a single moment, she found herself standing in an entirely different space.
