Chapter 324 · Volume 1

Rose Shows Her Edge

Hearing the Goddess of Fate’s words, the gods below showed no reaction, and their followers naturally followed suit.
However, Sleep, who had not yet left the stage, spoke up with a beaming smile.
“I wonder if anyone under the Radiant Goddess is willing to step forward for a battle?”
Upon hearing Sleep’s words, numerous gazes immediately shifted toward the Radiant Goddess’s side.
Olivia even noticed Sleep’s gaze lingering on her, whether intentionally or not; it was clearly directed at her.
Was it because of Dreamland Paradise?
The members of Dreamland Paradise worshipped the God of Dreams, and as a follower of the God of Dreams herself, it was only natural for Sleep to harbor some hostility toward her.
“She’s a Destroyer. Are you going, or should I?” Guinevere asked Olivia in a low voice.
In truth, she wasn’t very confident.
Guinevere had watched Sleep’s entire battle just now and knew that the other girl’s abilities countered her own. Guinevere excelled in straightforward combat, while Sleep specialized in dreams and illusions—a direct counter to her style.
“I—no, Rose, you go.”
Olivia had been about to step out herself but changed her mind upon further thought.
She consulted the magic mirror in her mind, wanting to know the win rates of her side’s three Destroyers.
The result showed that aside from Guinevere, both she and Rose had a one hundred percent win rate.
Since that was the case, she planned to let Rose go first.
She would have plenty of opportunities to fight later; what mattered most was letting Rose demonstrate her value first.
After all, if Rose wanted to obtain the identity information she sought from the Radiant Goddess, she had to show what she was worth.
Since this was a battle they were guaranteed to win, it was the perfect opportunity for Rose to prove herself.
Rose was naturally very obedient to Olivia. Hearing her command, she walked forward submissively.
Her appearance drew the eyes of many in the audience.
With her grey-white hair, crimson eyes, and the appearance of a young child, she was an intriguing figure to everyone present.
Most importantly, almost no one knew who Rose was.
As one of the deities who held dominion over the main world, the Radiant Goddess was always a focus of attention.
It was no secret who the noteworthy individuals under her command were.
Everyone knew of Adam.
Even the existence of Olivia and Guinevere was known to many of the other gods’ followers.
Yet Rose was the only one whom practically no one recognized.
And yet, she was the first one to step out now.
This caused Sleep to frown slightly.
She had expected Olivia to be the one to face her and had already prepared various methods to deal with her in her mind.
She never expected the one stepping up to be Rose!
Who was this girl?
“How should I address you?” Sleep asked.
“Rose,” the girl replied simply.
“I haven’t heard of you before,” Sleep added.
“But you have now.”
Rose didn't want to talk much with Sleep; she was never one for eloquence.
She proactively raised her hand, and the aura of a forbidden artifact began to emanate from her body.
Then, a strange phantom shadow emerged behind her, swaying continuously.
Though the phantom clearly existed, it was incredibly blurry and shrouded in mystery.
Many of the followers who had come with the gods stared at the shadow, trying to make out its form, but they found themselves unable to remember its specific shape, leaving them with puzzled expressions.
However, the gods themselves focused their gazes on the phantom, their eyes flickering with meaningful intent.
“Hmph!”
The Radiant Goddess gave a soft snort, and an invisible force spread out, enveloping the battlefield to prevent Rose from being disturbed by the gods’ gazes.
Even if the gods’ gazes didn't contain any specific power at the moment, their mere attention was enough to exert an indescribable and immense pressure on a transcendent.
“What is that?”
Sleep couldn't see what was behind Rose either, which caused her heart to skip a beat.
She immediately took action, silently weaving a massive dream and pulling Rose into it.
“The methods of Dreamland Paradise...” Rose whispered to herself.
This reminded her of some unpleasant memories.
Dreamland Paradise had once targeted her and caused her a great deal of trouble, inflicting actual harm upon her. She remembered it all too clearly.
As soon as Sleep made her move, those memories came rushing back to Rose.
Of course, she knew that Sleep and Dreamland Paradise both worshipped the God of Dreams and shared the same origin, so it was normal for their techniques to feel familiar.
Regardless, a flicker of dissatisfaction was ignited in her heart at this moment.
Layers of heavy dreams collapsed upon her, bringing a strong sense of drowsiness that urged her to sleep and surrender to the depths.
But that spark of dissatisfaction also flared up like a raging fire in her heart.
A more powerful aura erupted from her body.
Olivia and the others on the outside could not see the specifics of the battle.
Once Sleep acted, all traces of the fight shifted into the dream world.
However, Olivia could still understand the situation through the magic mirror, so she wasn't truly in the dark.
“Magic mirror, magic mirror, how is the fight between Rose and Sleep going?”
【It is going very smoothly. Rose is thoroughly dominating Sleep.】
“Dominating” was an understatement.
Olivia didn't laugh out loud, but her expression became increasingly relaxed.
No wonder the magic mirror said Rose had a one hundred percent win rate against Sleep.
It seemed that Sleep’s origins had provoked a significant amount of power from Rose.
Before long, it became obvious even to those on the outside that Rose held a clear advantage.
Rose, trapped in the dream, remained calm and composed.
In contrast, Sleep’s entire body began to tremble slightly, and fine beads of sweat appeared on her forehead.
Wounds even began to manifest out of thin air on Sleep’s body, making her look increasingly disheveled.
The difference between the two was becoming glaringly obvious.
After this continued for a while longer, Sleep coughed up blood and collapsed weakly.
Rose broke free from the dream, opened her crimson eyes, and gave Sleep a cold, indifferent look.
She looked as if she wanted to continue, but Sleep quickly called out, “I surrender.”
Under the watchful eyes of the gods, Rose couldn't very well keep attacking. She withdrew her power, turned around, and walked back.
This scene left the many followers of the gods with a variety of complicated expressions.
