Church headquarters.
Olivia and Rose soon reappeared there.
Pope Adam was already waiting for them, with Guinevere standing by his side.
Upon seeing them, Adam beckoned and led the group toward a teleportation array.
They stepped onto the array, and after a flash of light, they arrived on the floating island where Olivia had first met Adam. They then entered the cathedral located on that island.
Inside the cathedral, light and shadow interlaced. A towering and sacred statue of the Radiant Goddess stood directly ahead.
As they arrived, Adam's expression became much more solemn and reverent.
He walked toward the statue step by step and spoke in an extremely respectful tone.
“Praise be to the great Goddess. Your devout believer awaits your summons.”
As Adam finished speaking, the statue of the Radiant Goddess immediately erupted with a bright, brilliant light.
In the next instant, the light enveloped all four of them.
Immediately after, Olivia felt a wave of dizziness wash over her.
She felt as though she was undergoing an intense spatial transfer, moving far away from the church headquarters in a heartbeat. As for where they were going, she couldn't be certain.
Even asking the magic mirror was useless; the mirror was unaware of the changes occurring around her.
The magic mirror could only offer a conjecture, telling her that she was likely arriving in the Divine Realm.
After all, this was a summons from the Radiant Goddess, and the meeting place would most likely be in the Divine Realm.
This realization made Olivia feel a bit nervous.
The dizziness soon vanished, and it was then that Olivia realized she was in an unfamiliar place.
It appeared to be the interior of a palace. The primary color was white, and the design was filled with artistic flair.
Clouds even drifted back and forth across the floor, making it seem as if the palace were situated atop the clouds, high in the heavens.
Aside from Adam, Rose, and Guinevere, Olivia saw no one else.
Guinevere and Rose were also looking around curiously, much like Olivia.
As for Adam, perhaps because it wasn't his first time in such a place, he appeared exceptionally steady, standing there with a face full of devotion.
Clouds drifted through the palace, adding to its mysterious atmosphere.
At that moment, a cool, clear voice suddenly rang out: “You have come.”
Upon hearing this voice, Adam hurriedly called out, “Praise the Goddess. To be able to listen to the Goddess's teachings once more is the greatest honor of my life.”
Amidst Adam's devout voice, a mass of light emerged in the hall.
The light then slowly descended toward the very front of the hall, where a throne seemingly made of white jade sat. It was wreathed in white clouds, appearing hazy and full of mystery.
As the light settled, a figure emerged from within.
It was a blonde lady, her smooth golden hair naturally draping over her shoulders and down her back.
She wore only a simple, pure white robe without any ornate clothing or accessories. She looked clean, tidy, and untainted by the world.
She had well-defined features and golden eyes.
Under her gaze, everyone lowered their heads, not daring to look directly at her.
Is this the Radiant Goddess?
The thought flashed through Olivia's mind.
Although she had seen the statue of the Radiant Goddess many times, those statues always had a hazy quality that prevented one from truly perceiving her appearance.
It was only at this moment that a complete image of the Radiant Goddess formed in her mind.
She wasn't sure if it was just her imagination, but while her head was lowered, Olivia felt as though the Radiant Goddess had glanced at her a few extra times.
However, she didn't dare raise her head to confirm it. After all, this was the Radiant Goddess; while everyone else had their heads bowed, how could she possibly look the deity in the eye?
Fortunately, that feeling of being watched soon vanished.
The Radiant Goddess's voice was cool and clear, like lake water deep within a forest.
She spoke unhurriedly, “I have summoned you here primarily because there is a matter I need you to attend to.”
“No matter what it is—”
“Be quiet. I did not ask you to speak.”
Adam had just opened his mouth when he was immediately shut down.
This caused the corners of Olivia's mouth to twitch.
When they were outside, Pope Adam gave off the impression of being steady and reliable.
But in front of the Radiant Goddess, why did Adam seem like such a sycophant?
The Radiant Goddess continued, “I have had some communications with several other gods. We intend to lead certain transcendents under our respective commands to engage in combat.
“Therefore, I need several people to represent my side and fight against those favored by the other gods.
“The three of you are the Protagonists of the Era for our church, so naturally, you must fight.
“As for you, Rose, although you are not a member of the Radiant Light Church, I know your origins. If you fight for me, I can tell you everything you wish to know afterward.”
The Radiant Goddess's simple words immediately caused a stir.
A challenge between the gods?
Even if the gods weren't fighting directly but were instead having the transcendents they favored battle one another, it was still a shocking revelation.
In the past, when had the gods ever engaged in such an arranged battle? What did this mean? Did it signify that something major was about to happen?
Olivia and Rose, however, were more concerned with another issue.
The Radiant Goddess actually knew Rose's origins?
Faced with this situation, Rose replied without hesitation, “I am willing to fight for the Goddess.”
Rose wanted to understand her past more than anything.
She desperately wanted to know what kind of person she was; only by knowing that would she feel like she was truly alive.
Since the Radiant Goddess claimed to know her past, she certainly wouldn't lie. Rose could not miss such an opportunity.
After all, under normal circumstances, who could ever get a god to answer their questions?
“Very well. Then the four of you shall rest in my divine domain for now and maintain your peak condition.
“You may leave now. Once you step outside, an angel will naturally lead you to where you need to go.
“By the way, Olivia, stay behind for a moment. I have a few things to say to you.”
Following the Radiant Goddess's instructions, Adam, Guinevere, and Rose all withdrew.
However, as the three of them left, they cast strange glances back at Olivia.
They hadn't expected Olivia to be kept behind alone by the Radiant Goddess. What was the purpose of this?
