Chapter 311 · Volume 1

All I Wanted Was This

Hearing Olivia’s question, Isadora smiled and said, “This park provides some small gifts. As long as someone can pull out the Sword of the Earth, they can choose to take either the Sword of the Earth or one of the small gifts.”
“Since the Sword of the Earth is still here, does that mean everyone chose the small gifts?” Olivia asked curiously.
“That’s right. Because the value of the small gifts is actually not low, most people usually choose them after calculating the value,” Isadora explained.
She also told Olivia that a person could only receive the reward once, so there was no need to worry about anyone taking advantage of the system.
Olivia nodded thoughtfully.
Had no one ever chosen the Sword of the Earth?
Actually, there were some.
However, those who chose the Sword of the Earth could never figure out what its purpose was. Consequently, they would eventually bring it back to exchange it for a small gift.
The park was also happy to have a unique item like the Sword of the Earth placed here as a landmark, so they never refused such requests.
Simply put, this Sword of the Earth could be taken away.
Although Olivia had already learned of this rule through her magic mirror, hearing the explanation from Isadora’s own mouth undoubtedly made it even better.
This meant that even if she took the sword later, Isadora would have nothing to say against it.
“Then let me give it a try.” Olivia smiled and stepped in front of the Sword of the Earth.
The sword thrust into the ground was black overall and had a somewhat ancient feel to it, but it didn't look like anything special.
Isadora walked over and said with a smile, “Actually, any transcendent at the mid-level class rank or above can pull out this sword with one hundred percent certainty.
“You can already start thinking about which small gift you’d like. Our selection of small gifts is quite extensive.”
Until now, Isadora still believed that Olivia’s true objective had not yet been revealed.
She never expected Olivia to be such a direct person.
Of course, the reason Olivia was being so direct was that her analysis through the magic mirror had confirmed that being direct would yield the best results.
Olivia gave a noncommittal smile and reached out both hands to grasp the hilt of the Sword of the Earth.
Then, without much effort, she pulled the Sword of the Earth out.
Everything went exactly as expected.
Olivia looked at the Sword of the Earth for a moment and then directly stored it inside her Amber Tears.
Then, Olivia said to Isadora, “I don’t need any small gifts. I’ll just take this Sword of the Earth.”
Her words left Isadora momentarily stunned.
She said in confusion, “The value of this sword shouldn't be comparable to those small gifts.”
“It’s fine. I don’t care about those small gifts. I just want this sword.”
“Well... I suppose that’s fine?”
Isadora couldn't very well go back on her word; after all, that had always been the rule.
Olivia then spoke again, “By the way, I just remembered that I have some matters to attend to, so I won't be staying in the Moriah Empire any longer. I must take my leave now. Let’s meet again if we get the chance in the future.”
Olivia bid farewell to Isadora just like that.
And this sudden departure left Isadora stunned once again.
“You’re leaving already?” Isadora asked in surprise.
“It’s fine. We’ll see each other again when the opportunity arises,” Olivia said with a smile.
At this moment, question marks popped up one after another in Isadora’s mind.
How could she just leave?
Shouldn't Olivia have some sort of objective for coming to the Moriah Empire? Why would she leave just like that?
Was Olivia planning to break away from her and then go complete her objective in secret?
But as long as it happened within the Moriah Empire, it would be difficult to escape her notice.
It couldn't be that her objective had already been achieved, could it?
The moment Isadora thought of this, her heart skipped a beat.
Because the more she thought about it, the more she felt that this might be the truth.
But if Olivia’s objective had already been achieved, then what was it? Could it be that Sword of the Earth from just now?
But wasn't that Sword of the Earth a very ordinary sword?
Yet, if it really were an ordinary sword, why would it be Olivia’s goal?
Could it be that there was some secret about this Sword of the Earth that she didn't know about?
The more Isadora thought about it, the more uneasy she felt. She looked at Olivia, wanting to say something but hesitating.
Olivia, however, claimed she had urgent business and said nothing more. She took Rose and quickly left the area.
Isadora had no choice but to let Olivia depart.
As Olivia flew away, other members of the Moriah family stepped forward.
“Lady Isadora, what exactly did that Olivia come here for?”
“I don’t understand her actions. Does she not have a goal?”
“Surely her goal couldn't have been the Sword of the Earth, right?”
Everyone was very confused, unable to figure out Olivia’s thoughts.
Isadora’s expression shifted several times before she turned to the crowd and asked, “Bring me all the research you’ve done on the Sword of the Earth in the past. I want to look at it again.”
“Yes, milady.”
Although they didn't quite understand Isadora’s intent, they immediately agreed.
...
Meanwhile, Olivia and Rose rapidly put distance between themselves and the city.
Both of them possessed incredible strength, and since there were no obstacles in the sky, it only took a short time for them to fly directly out of the Moriah Empire’s borders.
It was only after returning to the territory of the Holy Kelidos Empire that Olivia slowed down her flight speed.
At this point, even Rose couldn't help but feel curious.
“Sister Olivia, was there really something unique about that Sword of the Earth?”
She had also seen that Olivia had an objective in going to the Moriah Empire, and that objective was this Sword of the Earth.
But even she hadn't seen anything special about the sword.
Therefore, she was naturally curious.
“This Sword of the Earth actually has a rather miraculous effect. It was likely lost from the Divine Realm.”
Olivia took out the Sword of the Earth and examined it.
“If this Sword of the Earth is integrated into the body, it will possess the power to sever all negative effects. It can purify the body and mind, making oneself even stronger.
“However, it isn't of much use to me. Since I already have the Remnant Branch of the Divine Tree, integrating this Sword of the Earth won't give me much of an upgrade.
“So, Rose, why don’t you use this Sword of the Earth instead?”
As Olivia spoke, she handed the Sword of the Earth directly to Rose.
Rose took the Sword of the Earth reflexively and asked in confusion, “If the effects of this Sword of the Earth are so good, why didn't the people of the Moriah Empire notice?”
