Chapter 309 · Volume 1

Isadora Moriah

As soon as Olivia arrived in Ancelas, she was discovered by the Moriah family.
She and Rose had only been walking the streets of the imperial capital for a short time before a group of men and women dressed in fine clothes approached them.
The woman leading them was particularly striking. She looked quite young, with flowing silver-white hair and her eyes covered by a black silk ribbon, giving her an air of mystery.
“Welcome to Ancelas. I am Isadora Moriah. It is a pleasure to meet you, Sister Olivia.”
Looking at the group that had appeared before her, a hint of surprise flashed in Olivia’s eyes.
Had these Fate Walkers predicted her arrival?
But weren't Fate Walkers unable to peer into her destiny?
“How did you know I was coming?” Olivia asked, taking a closer look at Isadora.
Isadora was certainly no simple person. She was a Protagonist of the Era from the Moriah family, and she was already a Destroyer.
The combat capabilities of such a being were terrifyingly difficult to imagine.
Isadora smiled slightly. “Do not misunderstand. As a Protagonist of the Era yourself, we cannot peer into your fate.”
“However, my intuition told me that an honored guest would surely arrive today.”
“So, I brought my people to wait at the appropriate location. I didn't expect to see you, but the moment I did, I understood that you were that honored guest.”
Intuition?
Such a claim sounded a bit mystical, though for the Fate Walkers, it wasn't exactly unheard of.
“Since our guest has arrived, why not come to our palace to rest? We shall hold a banquet to welcome you.”
Despite being a powerful Destroyer herself, Isadora still placed great importance on Olivia.
After all, the various achievements Olivia had demonstrated were truly remarkable.
Seeing this, Olivia did not refuse and replied with a smile, “It is my honor to be a guest here.”
“And who is this?” Isadora asked, glancing at Rose.
It was one thing to be unable to see through Olivia’s fate, but why could she not see through this person’s fate either?
She knew the appearance of every Protagonist of the Era within the Radiant Light Church, and she knew the girl before her was definitely not one of them.
“This is Rose, my friend,” Olivia introduced simply.
Rose stood behind Olivia, using her figure to partially hide herself. She held onto Olivia’s nun habit with one hand, looking quite timid.
By all appearances, she looked like a genuine little girl—harmless, well-behaved, and innocent.
But it was impossible for Isadora to truly view this girl as harmless.
After all, she could not see through the girl’s fate.
Furthermore, there was a faint, lingering sense of threat coming from her, enough for Isadora to judge that the girl’s class rank had already reached the level of a Destroyer.
A Destroyer whose fate could not be seen—Isadora could not be too cautious.
Shortly after, Olivia and Rose followed Isadora to the Moriah Empire's Royal Palace.
Located in the southern part of Ancelas, the Royal Palace covered a vast area. Each building could be described as magnificent, yet the opulence was not vulgar, boasting very fashionable designs.
They entered a grand hall and sat at a dining table. Maids soon began serving various delicacies.
Once everyone was seated, they began to eat, drink, and chat about various matters.
Olivia felt that Isadora was definitely very curious about her arrival, yet the woman asked nothing, showing remarkable patience.
Since the other party didn't ask, Olivia had no intention of saying much either.
After all, her objective was within their territory.
Even if they hadn't realized the true function of that item and hadn't given it much importance, it was still on their land.
The two sides continued their small talk, eventually discussing matters concerning the transcendent world.
The group also spoke at length about the dragon disaster that had occurred some time ago.
After all, the dragons hadn't only appeared in the Holy Kelidos Empire; they had also appeared in the Moriah Empire and the Varian Empire, causing a massive stir in both.
Of course, those dragons had all been dealt with by now.
During that process, Isadora had also demonstrated her own world-shaking combat power.
“How does the Radiant Light Church intend to handle the aftermath of this matter?” Isadora asked.
Olivia shook her head. “The church does not plan to interfere too much in this matter. The implications are far too great for us to handle.”
“The implications are too great? What do you mean by that?” Isadora inquired.
“What do I mean? Ms. Isadora, you should already know. As someone who constantly observes fate, it's impossible for you to have missed the truth,” Olivia said with a smile.
Isadora fell silent for a moment.
She did indeed understand what was involved in this matter.
When they first reached that conclusion, the entire Moriah family had been shaken, finding it utterly inconceivable.
Because the power behind those dragons actually involved a god!
In the end, the Moriah family had done nothing. After all, what could they do when it came to the affairs of a god?
They could only report the relevant details and let the deity behind them decide the course of action.
The result given by their deity was no different from the one given by the Radiant Goddess.
And that was: do not interfere.
Matters involving gods could only be handled by gods. Reckless interference would only lead to unfortunate consequences.
“It is truly lamentable that an unknown god would suddenly intervene and bring such a terrible disaster upon the dragons,” Isadora remarked, unable to help but sigh with emotion.
Olivia nodded in deep agreement.
“Fortunately, such a thing will not happen to humanity. After all, there are many gods standing behind mankind,” Isadora said, feeling somewhat relieved.
Even though she was already a Destroyer with immense strength, she still felt a lingering fear when facing such events.
After all, the dragons were originally such a powerful race.
Just because the Dragon God of the dragon race had fallen, they had ended up in such a state. How could anyone not have complex feelings about it?
Without the protection of a god, the survival of an entire race could not be guaranteed.
