The Whispering Forest was vast and still hid many secrets; even the three major transcendent organizations of the Varian Empire had not reached a hundred percent exploration of this forest.
There were many resources within the forest. After walking for a while, Olivia saw some precious spiritual materials.
For example, a verdant tree bore several silver-white fruits; these fruits could be applied to many transcendent fields.
Beside some trees, peculiar flowers bloomed—some red, some yellow—which were also a type of special material.
Occasionally, strange creatures would appear, such as the magic beasts known as seven-colored butterflies, which could also serve as materials for various purposes.
Olivia collected these materials as she saw them. Her harvest along the way was quite good.
As they walked, Olivia introduced the various conditions of the Whispering Forest to Rose so she wouldn't feel bored.
“This forest seems like a fine treasure trove. Why don't the people of the Varian Empire claim it entirely instead of leaving it open?” Rose asked curiously after learning a few things.
“Because they lack the power to do so.”
“Why would they lack the power?”
“Because this place is actually quite dangerous.”
What Olivia knew, she had naturally learned from the magic mirror.
It was said that a rift to the Divine Realm existed in the Whispering Forest, potentially allowing some of the Divine Realm's aura to drift through.
The Remnant Branch of the Divine Tree likely came to the Whispering Forest through this rift.
The three major transcendent organizations of the Varian Empire naturally didn't dare approach such a place; no one knew what else from the Divine Realm might arrive through that rift.
In fact, even beings whose existence transcends that of a Destroyer cannot approach this place.
When Olivia learned this from the magic mirror, she was also somewhat surprised.
The magic mirror told her that the reason those top-tier beings couldn't approach was precisely because they were too strong.
Such beings can already hear the lingering information related to the gods remaining in the world.
That information is known as the mysterious Divine Language.
Listening to this Divine Language could slowly increase one's strength and even provide a chance to transcend the scope of a transcendent and become a higher being.
But not just any Divine Language could be listened to at will.
For instance, in the Whispering Forest, Divine Language drifted through that rift and covered the entire forest.
Even a Destroyer could not hear the Divine Language here.
But if one's strength were just a bit greater, they could perceive the power contained within the Divine Language, which would cause unpredictable effects on themselves.
Some Divine Language was safe, but some was not necessarily so.
The Divine Language of the Whispering Forest was exceptionally unsafe, which was why even the three major transcendent organizations of the Varian Empire could do nothing about it.
“Does Divine Language really exist like that?” Rose mused.
She was already a Destroyer. If she took another step forward, would she also be able to hear this mysterious language?
“Yes, our understanding of this world is still not complete,” Olivia replied slowly.
In truth, she had only heard of this 'Divine Language' today.
However, such a thing was still too far away for her; she was only an Evolver, not even a Destroyer, let alone at the end of the transcendent path.
The two of them chatted as they walked, and because Olivia had the correct route, they soon reached the depths of the Whispering Forest.
The distance she covered in a short while was something others might not complete in a lifetime.
An exceptionally massive tree appeared before Olivia's eyes.
This massive tree looked strikingly out of place in the Whispering Forest, yet until she was close enough, even Olivia hadn't noticed its existence.
If she took a step back, the tree before her would vanish, and all she would see were ordinary trees.
If she took a step forward, the tree would reappear.
The towering tree’s canopy reached deep into the clouds, its branches and leaves stretching out freely; in this forest, it was like a king.
This was the king of trees, the supreme of the forest.
The Remnant Branch of the Divine Tree was on this very tree.
This was also why the tree had grown so massive.
“Treasure hunting is a bit too easy for me,” Olivia said, climbing directly onto the tree.
For others, knowing of the Remnant Branch's existence was the first hurdle, finding this place in the Whispering Forest was the second, and locating the Remnant Branch on the massive tree was the third.
These three hurdles were enough to thwart countless people.
But before Olivia, these obstacles were practically nonexistent.
The tree still had a maze-like effect, causing one to lose track of where they were while climbing.
Without the ability to fly, this would be very troubling, as branches and wide leaves were everywhere, making it easy to get lost.
However, this trouble did not exist for Olivia at all.
Following the magic mirror’s guidance, she climbed accurately and reached a thick branch before long.
Though it was called a branch, because the tree itself was so massive, even a single branch was exceptionally thick—wide enough for a carriage to drive on.
Olivia walked along this branch for a while before stopping.
In a certain corner of this branch, there was a fork that seemed to grow out of it.
That fork looked very ordinary on the surface, with a few sparse leaves on it.
Yet this seemingly ordinary fork was Olivia's target—the Remnant Branch of the Divine Tree.
If the magic mirror hadn't said this was the Remnant Branch of the Divine Tree, Olivia might have missed it.
She stepped forward and grabbed the Remnant Branch of the Divine Tree, immediately feeling an extremely dense life force surge toward her.
Then, with a surge of strength, she pulled the Remnant Branch of the Divine Tree from the original tree.
“Rose, my luck is good. I’ve found an opportunity. Wait for me a moment; I need to digest this harvest.”
Olivia spoke to Rose, then took out the Contract of the Gods and quickly wrote a contract between herself and the Remnant Branch of the Divine Tree in Sylvan Runes, intending to fuse it into her body.
She had to admit that the Contract of the Gods was simply too useful.
Olivia even felt a tiny bit of gratitude toward Preston, the Protagonist of the Era from the Time Chamber of Commerce, for indirectly giving her this treasure.
