"My beautiful Master, the strongest meditation method in the monastery is called the Radiant Meditation Method. Only those recognized by the monastery who become exceptionally outstanding nuns are permitted to be taught this method."
"Would anyone notice a difference if I practiced the Radiant Meditation Method?"
"They won't, for the Radiant Meditation Method and the Glimmer Meditation Method share the same origin."
"Then, tell me everything about the Radiant Meditation Method." A hint of anticipation flickered in Olivia's eyes.
The Radiant Meditation Method was not simply the next step after the Glimmer Meditation Method; it was several tiers higher.
Mastering a meditation method that others might not obtain for many years—or even their entire lives—was essentially a cheat. However, for Olivia, it was absolutely necessary.
In a world where supernatural powers existed, one would have no sense of security without sufficient strength.
Moreover, her current identity was quite sensitive...
A large block of text instantly surfaced on the magic mirror's surface, detailing the mastery of the Radiant Meditation Method.
It was written in the script of the Holy Kelidos Empire, known as Kelidosian. The character structure was relatively simple, though every stroke appeared somewhat ethereal. Since Olivia had inherited the original owner's memories, reading it was effortless.
After studying it for a while, she committed the main contents to memory.
Just as she was about to attempt the Radiant Meditation Method, a question suddenly occurred to her. She couldn't help but ask, "Magic mirror, did I transmigrate into this body because the original owner died?"
"Yes."
"How did the original owner die?"
As Olivia asked, she instinctively tapped her head.
She had clearly inherited the original owner's memories, yet not everything was clear. Specifically, the memories immediately preceding the original owner's death were a blurred, intangible mess.
"The original owner once accidentally obtained a scroll. Since the scroll came from outside the monastery, its specific origin is currently unknown."
"There was a strange ritual on the scroll. For reasons unknown, the original owner had a sudden impulse to attempt the ritual. She inadvertently drew the glance of an evil god, causing her soul to collapse and leading to her immediate death."
Olivia suddenly gasped.
An evil god?
This was a world where supernatural powers truly existed, along with actual deities. The Radiant Goddess, worshipped by the Radiant Light Church, was said to stand at the pinnacle of the orthodox gods.
Where there were orthodox gods, there were also evil gods. Many heretical organizations operated in the shadows of these malevolent deities.
The original owner clearly hadn't known the scroll was related to an evil god; otherwise, she certainly wouldn't have been seeking her own demise.
"That scroll... it seems to still be here..."
Olivia's gaze swept across the room.
The bedrooms assigned to novice nuns were all more or less the same, featuring simple furnishings.
On the desk, a yellowed parchment scroll lay rolled up, quiet and seemingly ordinary.
Yet, this was the very scroll that had caused the original owner's death!
Olivia's expression tightened slightly as she asked, "Magic mirror, how should I handle this scroll?"
"If left alone, the scroll will not change."
"Can I destroy it?"
"That would draw the evil god's gaze, Master."
"What if I throw it away?"
"If someone else finds the scroll and performs the ritual, the evil god's glance will cause them to collapse and die. At the same time, the deity would once again perceive your existence, Master. This is very dangerous."
In other words, she had to keep this extremely dangerous scroll with her and ensure it was well-guarded.
Olivia felt a slight headache and rubbed her temples. She had wanted to keep her distance from this evil god's scroll, but since the magic mirror had said so, she could only hide it in a concealed spot within her bedroom for now.
Afterward, she sat down by the bed, assumed a prayer posture with both hands, closed her eyes, and began to meditate.
She needed to test the Radiant Meditation Method.
Things went unexpectedly smoothly. Olivia attempted it and successfully entered the state within just a few seconds.
To be precise, the time it took her to enter a meditative state was even faster than the original owner.
Meditation was related to one's mental strength. Could it be that her mental strength was superior to the original owner's, leading to this performance?
Suppressing the slight joy in her heart, Olivia sensed the surrounding magic particles.
Magic particles were a ubiquitous and mysterious presence. They were invisible to the naked eye and could only be perceived and captured into the body during a state of meditation.
As an Initiate, the first class rank of a transcendent, one needed to use this method to continuously wash the body with magic particles. This allowed the body to become increasingly adapted to them, laying the foundation for the future path of transcendence.
Olivia felt it!
In her perception, lights gradually emerged from the darkness, appearing from nothing and becoming increasingly distinct.
They were golden specks of light, bobbing and drifting, moving in an irregular fashion.
'So many specks of light... this is completely different from the original owner's memories!'
Olivia thought to herself.
In the original owner's memories, the number of golden specks perceivable during meditation was extremely sparse. Each one was incredibly dim, like a candle flickering in the wind that seemed as if it would go out with a single puff.
But the magic particles she perceived now were vastly different.
Undoubtedly, this was because she was using a superior meditation method. The effects of the Radiant Meditation Method were far beyond what the Glimmer Meditation Method could compare to.
Using the meditation method, Olivia began to draw those magic particles toward her, allowing them to merge into her body from various points.
As magic particles accumulated within the body, they would naturally gather to form mana that could be utilized, though this required time.
Time passed slowly.
In her meditation, Olivia lost track of how much time had gone by. It felt like an eternity, yet also like a mere moment.
Until a bell representing dusk echoed through the monastery.
Dong, dong, dong...
Olivia stopped her meditation and opened her eyes.
Hearing the bell and seeing the dim yellow light flowing through the window like a golden river, she realized she had spent the entire afternoon meditating.
She could feel that her body had become tougher after being washed by the magic particles.
Though the feeling was subtle, daily accumulation would eventually lead to a qualitative change. At that point, she would become a Pilgrim.
Indeed, she could already be considered an Initiate!
"Right." Olivia seemed to remember something and stood up to approach the magic mirror. "Magic mirror, how should I normally store you so that I won't be discovered?"
At the moment, the magic mirror took the form of a floor-length mirror, standing quite a bit taller than Olivia, who was 1.65 meters tall.
This mirror was of vital importance to Olivia; naturally, she couldn't let anyone else notice it.
"I have already bound to you, Master. I can merge directly into your body. No one can detect my presence."
"Then come here." Olivia held out her palm.
Before her eyes, the once tall mirror instantly shrunk to the size of a fingernail. It landed in her palm and then miraculously vanished into her hand.
Olivia looked at her palm but didn't sense anything unusual. She felt that she could make the magic mirror reappear with just a thought, which was extremely convenient.
Without the magic mirror, looking at the bedroom that was both strange and familiar, Olivia felt a bit lost.
Although she had quickly adapted to the environment after her transmigration, her heart still inevitably wavered as she looked at her drastically changed surroundings.
She took several deep breaths to stabilize her emotions.
"No matter what, I am now Olivia Melianne. Since I've come to this world, I must live well here."
Olivia whispered to herself.
Knock, knock, knock!
Suddenly, the sound of knocking on the door made Olivia's heart tighten. She instinctively asked, "Who is it?"
