Sean saw her!
He saw a blonde girl standing at that exact position, elemental power condensing around her; she was clearly the one who had been preparing the elemental sneak attack.
Without hesitation, he brought his broad-bladed greatsword down toward her. If this strike connected, no one, regardless of who they were, would escape being cleaved in two.
Yet, as the sword swung down, an uneasy feeling surfaced in Sean’s heart.
He saw no trace of panic on the girl's face; all he could see was calm composure.
In the next instant, her figure vanished before his eyes, causing Sean’s strike to hit nothing but air.
Boom!
A thunderous explosion followed as the ground shattered and a nearby building collapsed, the violent noise echoing far into the distance.
Sean’s attack was exceptionally powerful, but it had struck empty space.
Then, before he could even recover his momentum, vast swathes of flames erupted around him. With a roar, he was completely enveloped, the fire forming a cage that trapped him where he stood.
It was a trap?
Sean made a split-second judgment, finally realizing that the girl had been bait. The elemental attack she had released was centered on this very spot; his charge had been nothing more than a plunge into an elemental snare.
But how did she escape? How could she disappear so suddenly?
Sean knew of the forbidden artifact called King's Domain, but he did not understand all its functions. While confused, he couldn't help but feel a flicker of panic.
With a loud shout, he charged toward the edge of the flames, attempting to break free.
But just as he reached the perimeter of the fire cage, massive bursts of wind blades roared into the area, forcibly blasting him back.
These wind blades were incredibly sharp and possessed lethal power. Every time one slashed toward him, his spirituality flared with a warning of extreme danger, forcing him to swing his sword in defense.
Was that girl an elemental mage? And judging by this terrifying power, she seemed to be an elemental mage of the Domainist class rank!
At this moment, it wasn't just Sean; even Curtis and Bruno were stunned by the methods Olivia displayed.
They never expected Olivia to have such a trick up her sleeve, performing in a way that was far more terrifying and powerful than when she had dealt with the pirate Ray.
"What are you staring at? Move!" Olivia glanced at Curtis, who was standing nearby.
The Swordsman snapped back to his senses and rushed to the edge of the fire cage. Swinging his blade, he unleashed streak after streak of sword qi.
His sword qi was sharp and fearsome, shaped like crescent moons as they surged into the fire cage, relentlessly attacking Sean to prevent his escape.
As for Bruno... the scene before him left him with no way to intervene, so he could only wait outside the fire cage.
Under the dual assault of Olivia and Curtis, Sean was forced into a purely defensive position. He had no way to break out and could only endure the constant searing heat within the fire cage, his body wracked with intense pain.
"Why are you trying to kill me? I have no grievance with your Twilight Council!" Sean roared in agony.
Hearing this, Olivia smiled slightly. "First, we are not from the Twilight Council. Second, if you cease your resistance, we might just let you live."
Not from the Twilight Council?
Then how did they have a forbidden artifact like King's Domain?
Sean froze for a moment before the realization suddenly dawned on him. He remembered the recent clash between the Twilight Council and the Church, a conflict that had ended in the council's defeat.
In other words, these people were actually from the Church?
Sean immediately shouted, "I surrender! I surrender!"
If he had fallen into the hands of an organization like the Twilight Council, Sean might have been less willing. After all, the members of that organization were all madmen; heaven only knew what kind of treatment he would receive.
But falling into the hands of the Church wasn't as dire, as the majority of people there were still rational.
Sean then lowered his weapon and voluntarily gave up his resistance, allowing Olivia and the others to bind him, signaling his complete surrender.
Since they could capture him alive, there was no need to kill him. This was Ivy’s plan for Sean from the start, and the current outcome was the best possible result.
After binding Sean, Olivia used the teleportation function of King's Domain to bring him directly to the entrance of Daylight Cathedral, leading him inside.
After handing Sean over to the appropriate Church personnel, Olivia went back to regroup with Curtis.
She was responsible for the entire block of Annus Street, and it wasn't just these three individuals, though they were the most powerful. Now that they were dealt with, she still had to clean up the remaining small fry.
Of course, there would be no difficulties in that process. Even without Curtis and Bruno, she could easily complete it on her own.
With the two of them helping, she was able to save even more time.
Everything was resolved before daybreak.
After finishing her mission, Olivia returned to Daylight Cathedral alone to see Ivy.
Ivy looked at Olivia and said in a measured tone, "Olivia, you have done well. Over the course of the night, the unstable factors throughout the South District have been addressed."
"Although more unstable factors will appear as more transcendents arrive, I believe they won't cause any major waves from now on."
"Even if new problems arise, they should be resolved quickly."
"However, Kaliron isn't just the South District. Next, I must ask you to go to the other districts and use King's Domain to identify the unstable factors there."
"In the other districts, you won't need to take action yourself; just leave everything to the clergy of those districts."
"You only need to provide them with the information."
Olivia nodded upon hearing this. "No problem. When do I leave?"
"If it's convenient, leave now. Go to the Main District first. I have already contacted the people at Morning Light Cathedral; you can go directly to them," Ivy replied.
"Understood. I'll go now." Olivia traced a pentagram in the air before her and then withdrew from the area.
Watching Olivia disappear, a slight ripple of emotion appeared in Ivy's eyes.
"Truly an exceptional nun. Your arrival has truly reduced many of the troubles facing the Church. Did the Goddess's favor bring you here? Praise the Goddess!"
