Almost exactly as Bruno nodded, two figures emerged from the artificial lake not far away; though they stepped out of the water, their clothes remained completely dry.
There were two of them, a man and a woman.
Silas Blount was a tall, rugged-looking middle-aged man who hadn't bothered with a disguise even for the underground black market, wearing black robes and exuding a domineering aura.
Renee Barnes was a petite young girl with curly brown hair tied in a ponytail, also dressed in black robes without a disguise, her lips painted a striking, vivid crimson.
As the pair stepped out, they spotted the three people waiting for them and immediately halted, their guards raised.
But the moment they prepared themselves, Curtis acted.
The Domainist moved incredibly fast, reaching Silas Blount in an instant. A silver, shimmering sword had appeared in his hand at some unknown moment, and he slashed down toward Silas Blount.
As the attack struck, Silas Blount's body instantly became transparent, as if he were transforming into seawater so that losing a part of himself wouldn't matter.
But in that same moment, Curtis spoke: "Within this range, elemental power is not permitted."
The method of turning one's body into seawater to evade attacks was undoubtedly a form of elemental power.
Silas Blount found himself unable to complete the transformation, and thus could not truly evade Curtis's strike.
With a flash of brilliant silver light, even though Silas Blount tried his best to dodge, one of his arms was still severed. Crimson blood sprayed from the stump, splattering across his own face, which was twisted in disbelief.
He never would have expected that just stepping out of an underground black market would lead to such a terrifying ambush.
Furthermore, his opponent was actually a Domainist.
Gripped by terror, Silas Blount retreated violently, attempting to put distance between them.
But Curtis followed him like a shadow, his silver longsword stained with blood as it rapidly closed in on Silas Blount again.
As Curtis moved against Silas Blount, Renee Barnes also retreated sharply to create distance.
She had no idea who the attackers were, but she could feel the power and terror emanating from them.
Consequently, once she had retreated out of the opponent's domain range, Renee Barnes immediately wreathed herself in the power of the wind element, intending to flee the area directly.
She had no intention of staying to fight alongside Silas Blount; her opponent was a Domainist, someone they simply couldn't handle, so her first thought was to escape.
However, just as Renee Barnes turned around, she sensed an intense aura of danger rising behind her and hurriedly tried to elementalize, her body beginning to look as if it were composed of seawater.
But the moment the elementalization was nearly complete, Renee Barnes suffered the same fate as Silas Blount.
Her elementalized body was forcibly reverted to flesh and blood. The wisps of wind that had been swirling around her also vanished into thin air.
It was as if the place she stood was still within Curtis's domain, rendering all elemental powers ineffective.
In reality, this was Olivia Melianne utilizing Elemental Praise to forcibly control the surrounding elements, making it impossible for her opponent to use elemental power.
Simultaneously, Olivia Melianne gripped Cross Grace and slashed down at Renee Barnes, tearing a long, deep gash across the other woman's back.
Howling in pain, Renee Barnes quickly dodged away, her gaze turning toward Olivia Melianne with sheer terror.
Was this person also a Domainist?
But she hadn't felt the presence of a domain, so why was her elemental power unusable?
Before Renee Barnes could figure it out, Olivia Melianne's figure vanished from where she stood.
This startled Renee Barnes, who had no idea where Olivia Melianne had gone.
But in the very next instant, she had her answer as she once again sensed a strong feeling of danger behind her.
The opponent was behind her!
But how on earth had she gotten there?
With no time to think, Renee Barnes spun around, a staff appearing in her hand to precisely block the trajectory of Cross Grace, resulting in a sharp crack as they collided.
This wasn't a Domainist; this was a Transcender like herself.
With just that single collision, Renee Barnes judged her opponent's strength.
But what method was the other person using to prevent her from utilizing elemental power? And what was the deal with that mysterious teleportation ability?
Before Renee Barnes could find an answer, a dense red light erupted from Olivia Melianne's Cross Grace, followed by a series of violent, rapid slashes directed at her. A dozen strikes landed in a short period, forcing Renee Barnes to stumble backward.
Facing these uninvited guests who had arrived in Kaliron, the church had different protocols for different people.
For instance, regarding the Berserker from the Cross Brotherhood, the church's plan was to capture him without taking his life.
After all, the Cross Brotherhood itself had no real grievances with the church, and holding a Domainist from their organization would actually be helpful for future negotiations.
However, for members of the Pirate Alliance, there were no such considerations. For these pirates who committed all sorts of atrocities, the church provided only one answer: eliminate them directly.
Therefore, Olivia Melianne had no need to show any mercy.
While performing the continuous attacks of Wrathful Slash, Elemental Praise was also at work, causing the ground beneath their feet to vibrate slightly.
Immediately afterward, incredibly sharp earth spikes erupted from the ground, thrusting toward Renee Barnes at high speed.
This left Renee Barnes, who was already losing ground while dealing with Olivia Melianne's attacks, completely unable to mount an effective defense.
In the next instant, multiple earth spikes pierced through Renee Barnes's body, leaving her riddled with holes and drenched in blood, looking as miserable as could be.
"You... Who are you?"
Feeling the agonizing pain wracking her body, Renee Barnes spat out the question in desperation.
She had never imagined that the two of them would face such an unstoppable disaster immediately upon arriving in Kaliron.
Why was this happening?
"Since you are a pirate, don't ask such ridiculous questions."
Olivia Melianne didn't bother to answer. With a surge of force from Cross Grace, she knocked aside the opponent's staff and followed up with another slash, decapitating the woman.
As Renee Barnes's head rolled across the ground, coming to a stop after a few turns, Bruno Marshall stood a short distance away, still a bit dazed.
As a Shield Guard, he had been holding up his shield, pondering how best to support Olivia Melianne.
As it turned out, in the blink of an eye, Olivia Melianne had already dealt with her opponent, and there had been no need for him to act at all.
