Lanier's tone was filled with complaints. Clearly, having his sweet dream suddenly interrupted had made him very unhappy.
“Two types of magic power?”
Ivelina's eyes flickered. She suddenly remembered that before Tyr went to the Sword Prison, he had asked her for the cultivation method of Holy Power.
At the time, she hadn't thought much of it, assuming Tyr just wanted to understand Holy Power. After giving him the cultivation method, she had also warned him that two types of magic power could not be cultivated simultaneously.
Now, a month and a half had passed since Tyr entered the Sword Prison, and the Grand Duke had suddenly called to ask Lanier if he could use two types of magic power.
Could it be that Tyr had figured out a method to cultivate two types of magic power simultaneously, and had already succeeded?
“What is it?”
Noticing the change in Ivelina's mood, Lanier asked in confusion.
“Before Tyr went to the Sword Prison, he came to ask me for the cultivation method of Holy Power.”
“Are you saying Tyr...”
Lanier suddenly realized something. Since Grand Duke Callis had called in the dead of night to ask if he could cultivate dual magic powers, it must be because something had happened to make the Grand Duke believe Lanier was capable of using two types of magic power.
His interactions with Grand Duke Callis could be divided into the period before the end of the previous Grand Election, and the period after the start of this Grand Election.
During the previous Grand Election, he had shown no sign of being able to use dual magic powers.
Since returning this time, he hadn't even used magic power in front of Grand Duke Callis. Though he had used magic power once when they were ambushed on the road, at that time, he had used only the pure magic power of House Callis.
Thus, the only reason the Grand Duke would seek him out over magic power right now was Tyr, who was currently in the Sword Prison.
Connecting Grand Duke Callis's inquiry with his wife's words, it wasn't hard for Lanier to guess that Tyr must have used Holy Power in the Sword Prison.
“That brat, he's taking too big of a risk.”
Upon guessing that Tyr could cultivate dual magic powers simultaneously, Lanier's first thought wasn't joy, but lingering fear.
Cultivating dual magic powers simultaneously—if anything went wrong, it would result in a ruptured Magic Circle.
For ordinary transcendents, if the backlash from a ruptured Magic Circle wasn't too severe, they could still start over from scratch.
But their Magic Circles were condensed in their hearts; once they ruptured, death was almost certain.
Ivelina felt the same way. The mere thought of Tyr actually cultivating two types of magic power broke her out in a cold sweat.
Although the Lanier couple had always taken a hands-off approach to raising Tyr, that was only because they had noticed from a very young age that he was different from other children.
They only did so because they didn't want to force any changes upon him. In truth, their love for Tyr was no less than anyone else's.
Both of them had always known that Tyr was a very independent child, but his actions this time were far too reckless.
“Relax, Ivelina. His Grace only asked about dual magic powers, which means Tyr succeeded in cultivating both simultaneously.”
Keenly sensing the change in his wife's emotions, Lanier reached out and pulled her into his arms to comfort her.
“I know, I'm just a bit terrified in hindsight.”
Ivelina's voice was slightly muffled. She was the one who had personally handed the cultivation method of Holy Power to Tyr. If anything had happened to him, she would never have forgiven herself.
“Wait, why did Tyr use Holy Power?”
Ivelina suddenly realized: compared to the sword magic power of House Callis, what was the most unique aspect of the Aglaia family's Holy Power?
Healing.
“Trust me, Ivelina. House Callis's training methods are indeed brutal, but the instructors of the Sword Prison will absolutely not let anything happen to the reserves.”
To soothe Ivelina's anxiety, Lanier did not tell her that if one's talent was utterly abysmal and their luck was terrible, there indeed was a risk of death in the Sword Prison.
However, he didn't think Tyr would encounter such a situation. He knew very well that Tyr's talent was by no means inferior to his own back then.
Furthermore, Tyr had even figured out a way to cultivate two types of magic power simultaneously; those instructors in the Sword Prison would definitely not let anything happen to him.
“Tomorrow, I'm going to the church to pray for Tyr.”
“Alright, I'll go with you.”
“Mhm.”
...
The Sword Prison, Tyr's dormitory.
Tyr sat up in bed, rubbing his sleepy eyes. After everything that had happened last night, he was actually very tired, but his long-established biological clock woke him up at this exact time.
“Young Master, the hot water is ready.”
As Tyr's exclusive maid, Avia knew everything about his daily routine and habits like the back of her hand.
“Mhm.”
Tyr pulled back the blanket, got out of bed, and walked into the washroom.
He didn't like being waited on while washing his face and brushing his teeth, so Avia didn't follow him in. Instead, she began preparing breakfast and his clothes for the day.
After having breakfast, Tyr went out to the balcony and sat on the rocking chair, enjoying the cool morning breeze.
This rocking chair had been built for Tyr by Avia. That day, Tyr had only mentioned it in passing, but when he returned from his training on the drill grounds, the rocking chair was already waiting for him.
Furthermore, it was crafted to be much more comfortable than what Tyr had described. Tyr loved this rocking chair and planned to take it with him when he left the Sword Prison in the future.
The Sword Prison was exceptionally quiet today. Usually at this hour, the reserves would be heading to the pharmacy in a grand, bustling crowd.
But up until now, not a single person had stepped out of the dormitory building. Tyr hadn't even heard the sound of doors opening in the corridor.
Having stayed up so late last night, Tyr figured they probably couldn't get up.
Tap, tap.
Suddenly, Tyr, who was resting with his eyes closed, heard a flurry of footsteps coming from downstairs.
Tyr stood up and walked to the railing to look down, only to see a group of people wearing white mage robes entering the dormitory building.
As Tyr looked down, a woman with light honey-colored hair in the mage procession happened to look up. Wisps of hair lightly veiled her eyes, and a gentle warmth lay hidden within her clear, ice-blue pupils. Her green-blue star-ornament earrings lent an even softer air to her delicate features.
Upon seeing Tyr on the balcony, she smiled and waved at him.
Tyr nodded, returning the gesture to the girl below.
Knock, knock, knock.
A moment later, a knock sounded at Tyr's dormitory door.
Avia opened the door, and a person wearing a white mage robe walked in. Tyr stepped inside from the balcony, surprised to find that the newcomer was indeed the woman who had waved to him from below.
The woman clearly hadn't expected such a coincidence either, and a look of surprise appeared on her face as well.
However, she quickly composed her emotions, walked into the room, and performed a highly standard aristocratic curtsy to Tyr.
“Hello, my name is Aetheline Lane. Starting today, I will be serving as your healing mage.”
