“Are you serious?” Moen blurted out in shock.
She stared in disbelief, frozen in place and appearing completely lost.
What was this?
Infinite resurrection?
How could such a conceptual god-level skill appear on a top-tier mage? Was this some kind of joke?
Absurd... That was Moen's only feeling. she felt as if the world were playing a malicious prank on her, making everything feel surreal.
For a moment, she even thought she had fallen into a hallucination.
However, the scorching heat from the surging red flames felt undeniably real.
Buze brandished his blade, which trailed crimson light, whipping up a storm of red fire. He let out a ferocious roar and leaped high into the air.
He swung his sword down at Moen!
...
“Alesta, I've run into some trouble here.”
Alesta connected to the gray screen communication. Hearing Moen's words, a look of confusion crossed his face.
“What happened? Did Wilson show up?”
“No, it's the second son of the Kritov family. He's a bit tricky.”
Hearing this, Alesta's heart, which had just skipped a beat, suddenly calmed. He even felt a strange sense of relief.
He said slowly, “What's there to worry about with a dandy? These noble young masters think the world of themselves from a young age. They might have decent talent, but their character is trash. They always look down on everyone while having the best resources and doing the most useless things. Every single one of those failures is just the dregs of society.”
His tone was lazy and arrogant, dismissing the Kritov second son—whom he had only heard of—as completely worthless.
“Deal with him quickly, then come over to prepare for the god's arrival,” he ordered impatiently.
“I can't be quick!” Moen's tone suddenly became irritable. “Are you deaf? I said he's tricky!”
“That guy named Buze—no matter how many times I kill him, he just keeps resurrecting! I can't get rid of him at all!”
“Resurrection?” Alesta was startled for a moment. “Are you sure?”
Resurrection was an ability exclusive to gods. Why would an incompetent noble brat possess such a heaven-defying power?
And infinite resurrection at that?
“Cut the crap! I've blasted him into mincemeat more times than I can count. Do you have any idea how disgusting it is to watch that meat paste squirm every time? And yet, I can't do anything about it!”
“Boom!”
Alesta suddenly heard a tremor from Moen's side. Then, Moen's voice came through: “I just blasted him again, but he's already resurrecting. And he's getting faster and faster! I'm about to lose my mind from the annoyance! Tell me how to finish him for good, Alesta!”
From Moen's tone, it was clear she was at her wit's end, but Alesta couldn't make heads or tails of it either.
A top-tier mage capable of infinite resurrection was clearly beyond his understanding.
“Wait, his resurrection ability seems to come from that strange golden domain of his. He said that as long as his domain doesn't extinguish, he won't fall. Is there any way to make his domain disappear?” Moen asked.
“A domain?” Alesta's interest was piqued. “If my guess is correct, his domain should come from his Life Crown title. You can use your own Life Crown title to suppress his, then deconstruct the source of his domain.
“Once you figure out which part the energy for his domain comes from, you can collapse it!”
“I see.”
Moen cut the connection, feeling enlightened. She finally knew how to deal with Buze once and for all.
She looked at the newly resurrected Buze. The moment he revived, he attacked her again. Moen's lip twitched; she had underestimated how troublesome Buze was.
This guy was like Play-Doh—once he stuck to you, you couldn't shake him off.
She could only imagine what kind of nightmare life must be for those who accidentally offended Buze in their daily lives.
However, this time Moen didn't focus on Buze himself. Instead, she turned her attention to the golden domain centered around him. Following Alesta's advice, she used her saint-rank Life Crown title to suppress Buze's domain, rendering him unable to move.
Then, she began to continuously pour in mana, slowly deconstructing and analyzing the golden domain.
“Something's wrong. His domain doesn't come from his Life Crown title.”
Moen realized something, and her expression shifted slightly as she looked at Buze with a strange gaze.
“It's conviction. His conviction is what forms this domain!”
“What the hell? How can he have such powerful conviction? And how can something like conviction even form a domain!”
Buze bared his teeth, desperately resisting the force binding him.
Then, the restraint loosened.
“I will never... let you bastards destroy this city!”
Buze swung his greatsword with all his might. The scorching crimson flow let out a bright, clear cry, transforming into a massive firebird that carried the momentum to incinerate everything.
But even more shocking was that above the head of the crimson firebird, a shining Life Star flickered, half-purple and half-gold!
Moen's face turned incredibly grim.
Half-purple and half-gold?
What quality of Life Star was that?
Was this a joke? Which god did he even believe in to awaken such a bizarre Life Star?
Moen was about to raise her hand to extinguish the fierce firebird. Despite Buze's surprising performance, the level gap between them remained. No matter how many times he resurrected or how many stunning skills he awakened, he couldn't possibly threaten her.
But just as she was about to raise her hand, a sudden sharp pain shot through her waist.
She looked down to see the small bottle at her waist suddenly acting up, violently hitting her waist as if something inside were about to burst out.
“Damn it! Not now!”
Moen's movements faltered. The firebird pounced on her, swallowing her whole.
With a thunderous explosion, sparks filled the sky like raindrops, and Moen was sent flying.
She didn't appear to be seriously injured, but there were scorched marks all over her body.
An exquisite small jade bottle fell onto the cracked ground. With a snap, a crack appeared at the mouth of the bottle.
Buze stopped, looking at the small bottle with some confusion.
“Morai, I am your father! Have you forgotten all those memories!?” Moen yelled in a fit of rage, looking up with a furious roar.
Perhaps because Moen's roar was so piercing, the exquisite jade bottle shattered at the sound. In a flash of white light, a blonde-haired figure appeared.
Seeing the beautiful face of that person, Buze's expression shifted as he blurted out, “Princess Ruiya?”
The blonde girl stared intently at Moen, her expression devoid of joy or sorrow.
“During the days I spent with you, I was never happy.”
“I won't be a puppet in your hands anymore.”
