Chen Xu was extremely surprised. Merchants of the transcendent world were truly something else.
Trading people and treasures was one thing, but now they could even sell planets like moons.
“Yes, My Lord.”
Seeing Chen Xu's astonishment, Big Boss began introducing the planet-trading business.
“My Lord, a planet may seem massive, but to us merchants, it is still just a commodity that can be bought and sold—it just happens to have a slightly larger volume.
“Storage and transportation are tricky, and the costs are quite high. Consequently, there are very few merchants who specialize in planet trading. As it happens, an old friend of mine is in this line of work.”
With that, Big Boss took out a photo and showed it to Chen Xu.
The photo depicted a humanoid creature wearing a suit of armor, with its head and arms exposed. It had purple skin, bulging muscles, a bald head, and a face covered in hideous scars. No matter how one looked at him, he didn't resemble a merchant.
Combined with the ferocious expression on his face, he looked more like the interstellar pirates from before.
Perhaps sensing Chen Xu's confusion, Big Boss explained.
“My Lord, this old friend of mine is a wanderer from the Zige civilization. His civilization was invaded by others, and they lost their home, so he became a wanderer.
“Of course, in the eyes of others, there isn't much difference between a wanderer and an interstellar pirate. The homeless, drifting about, always bring a sense of unease.”
Chen Xu wasn't interested in Big Boss's personal relationships; he only cared about the moons.
“Enough of that. How many moons does this friend of yours have?”
“Eight. But one of them is a bit of a problem. It’s located near a battlefield between Heaven and Hell, making it difficult to transport.
“After all, as you know, a celestial body like a moon is too large to be transported stealthily.”
“Eight? There are actually that many masterless moons in the myriad worlds?”
Chen Xu was surprised again by the quantity. He had thought there might be two or three, but he hadn't expected eight.
This was a moon, not some common object.
“My Lord, just as there are differences between people, there are differences between moons.
“These planets used for trade generally possess no transcendent power. They cannot be compared to the moon you captured, which was nurturing a deity.”
Not all moons gave birth to gods, just as not all suns gave birth to ancient divine beasts like the Golden Crow.
Merchants only sought profit. If they encountered a planet that was truly nurturing a deity, they wouldn't dare take it.
If they couldn't find a buyer and were tracked down by the deity's followers, the loss would be catastrophic.
Planet trading involved massive transactions. For most merchants, if a single deal fell through, there was a high probability of a broken capital chain, leading to the brink of bankruptcy.
The power of the merchant profession stemmed from wealth. Under such a blow, their transcendent origin would also be severely damaged.
Therefore, in the vastness of the myriad worlds, the number of merchants who dared to trade planets harboring deities could be counted on one hand.
However, it didn't matter. An ordinary moon was still a moon, and for Chen Xu, it would suffice.
He controlled the creation authority to halt the fusion process, placing the moon, the Behemoths, and the three treasures into a special state of stasis.
“Eight—I want them all. As for the one you said is hard to transport, have your friend provide the coordinates. I'll send Kunpeng.
“As long as Kunpeng makes contact with an ordinary moon, I can open a spatial gate and transport it directly into the Undead Divine Court.
“With Kunpeng's strength, it's more than capable of crossing a battlefield between Heaven and Hell.”
“Very well, My Lord. I will contact him immediately.”
Big Boss turned and gave Xuan Chu a look. Xuan Chu understood and led Big Boss out of the Undead Divine Court.
Next, Chen Xu's gaze pierced through layers of space and fell upon Kunpeng.
Through the connection within their souls, he clearly perceived the immense energy within Kunpeng's body.
Having swallowed the Dead Star Core and so many low-level divine power Black Knights, Kunpeng's strength had reached the limit of the mythic-tier.
It was only one step away from the eternal-tier—the realization of its own Dao.
“Hoo?”
Kunpeng was currently fighting Patchwerk to train the younger brother's combat abilities when it suddenly felt an ill-intentioned gaze.
It raised its head and looked around, even releasing its divine power domain, but it couldn't perceive the source of the gaze.
After many battles, Kunpeng's growth had been rapid. As a battle pet originating from the Lord of the Undead, the learning ability and comprehension of a Bone Kun in battle were exceptional.
After following Chen Xu through several campaigns, Kunpeng had learned many techniques.
Previously, it would never have been able to sense Chen Xu's prying.
Chen Xu nodded, feeling slightly gratified.
He then sent a message to Kunpeng.
“Come to the Undead Divine Court. Oh, and bring Patchwerk with you.”
“Hoo~ On my way!”
A spatial gate opened, and Kunpeng squeezed out of it. Patchwerk followed with a leap.
Before Chen Xu could speak, Kunpeng shrank its size and rubbed its head against him, casting an expectant look.
“Master, is it time to open those gourmet boxes again?”
In Kunpeng's eyes, the Dragon Palace Treasure Boxes from the Secret Treasure Palace were boxes that contained all sorts of delicacies.
The previous Great Roc plume and Dead Star Core each had their own unique flavors. Kunpeng had developed a taste for them and missed them constantly.
Being called back by Chen Xu now, it thought the Secret Treasure Palace had restocked the treasure boxes and let it return to open the blind boxes.
Chen Xu shook his head. “Not so fast. I called you back to have you do something.”
Chen Xu reached out and patted Kunpeng's head, then pointed upward at the damaged moon.
“I need you to go somewhere and bring back a moon. You'll need to cross a battlefield between Heaven and Hell—the same kind where you tanked a hit not long ago.”
“Hoo? Hoo!!!”
Kunpeng's eyes widened instantly, followed by a trace of resentment.
“Don't worry. This time, you don't need to intervene in an eternal-tier battle. Just cross the battlefield and find the moon; I'll open a spatial gate to pull you back.”
Hearing this, Kunpeng's expression changed immediately, and it began wagging its tail again.
But there was also a hint of disappointment. Although getting punched hurt quite a bit, being able to eat something delicious afterward was actually quite nice.
After a while, Big Boss returned to the Undead Divine Court and gave Kunpeng a Cosmic Sea coordinate locator. He then took Kunpeng to the City of Miracles to depart for the pickup.
As for the remaining seven moons, they would be delivered to the City of Miracles by the planet merchant, where Chen Xu would then collect them.
Ten days passed in the blink of an eye. The seven moons arrived one by one. Now, eight moons were suspended in the sky above the Undead Divine Court.
During this time, Chen Xu also used the creation authority to cover all the newly arrived moons.
Since these moons had no born deities, the creation authority's coverage speed was much faster. With full activation, the process was completed in less than a day.
Suddenly, with a thought from Chen Xu, a giant spatial gate opened, and a massive moon slowly squeezed through.
With that, all nine moons were gathered.
Chen Xu sat upon his throne, his hands resting on the armrests.
Having sat on the throne for a long time, Chen Xu had also figured out a new way to utilize world power.
With his soul as the core, he substituted world power for mental strength. A vast, ocean-like power filled the entire Undead Divine Court.
The world power of the divine court also resonated with Chen Xu. The two merged, together bolstering the creation authority.
The nine moons formed a ring, rotating high in the sky.
Directly below the center of the ring was the Giant Valley, along with the two Behemoths and the three other treasures.
The ring rotated for a long time. Chen Xu was immersed in the act of creation. At this moment, his soul received feedback from the creation—a wonderful sensation.
As the Creator, commanding all things, the feeling of everything in the world moving according to his will allowed Chen Xu's soul to reach a higher state of being.
After a long time, the nine moons shimmered with spiritual light simultaneously. With the moon from the Immortal Island as the primary host, the former Moon God welcomed a new life under the baptism of the creation authority.
A goddess appeared in the center of the nine moons, wearing plain white flowing silk robes and a grand crown adorned with nine full-moon hairpins.
Unlike the original Moon God of the Immortal Island, this goddess did not have a heavenly ribbon draped around her neck; instead, nine tiny moons orbited her throat.
In her right hand, she held a bronze mirror. On the mirror's surface, various phases of the moon—full, crescent, eclipsed—switched back and forth.
Her left hand held a laurel branch between her fingers in a mudra. As the laurel swayed gently, it shed a curtain of lunar essence.
Tied to her waist was a small sachet, its opening slightly agape to reveal a strange-looking spider.
Chen Xu looked up at the first star god of the Land of the Undead. Under the influence of world power, he spoke four words in a cold, solemn voice.
“Your name... is Taiyin.”
Upon hearing this, the goddess moved with graceful steps, descending from the sky to stand before Chen Xu.
She crossed her hands slightly over her chest and bowed.
“Taiyin greets the Divine Lord.”
