Bai Feifei followed the map until she reached Qingping Academy.
The outer walls of the academy were painted a brilliant, pristine white. Two uniformed guards stood at the entrance.
“Must be nice...”
Bai Feifei looked up, sighing in admiration once more as she handed over her identity card.
“Hello, I’m the new combat instructor. I’m here to report to the Elite Class.”
The guard took the card and swiped it through a machine. The device let out two beeps, and the guard’s expression instantly shifted.
It was a complex look, one that was mostly shock mixed with a hint of pity.
It was as if he was thinking—Such a young combat instructor? And she’s going to teach the Elite Class?
“You’re the teacher for the Elite Class?” the guard asked to confirm.
“Yes,” Bai Feifei nodded.
“Please, go ahead.” The guard stepped aside, but his gaze felt like he was telling her to “rest in peace.”
Bai Feifei walked down the campus path until she reached the entrance of the training hall.
The doors were heavy wood reinforced with iron bars. The soundproofing seemed decent, yet she could still hear voices coming from inside.
She felt an inexplicable wave of intense nervousness, even more so than when she had entered the underground coal mine.
She recalled Wan Qianhong’s words from this morning—those students were quite unruly, and it was best to establish her authority the moment they met.
But what authority did she have? She had only been a Scavenger for a short time. She didn’t feel qualified at all to be a teacher to people her own age.
“Seriously, what are you standing there for? Are you on your period or something?” the Old-Timer’s impatient voice rang out in her mind.
Just as Bai Feifei was about to respond, her body shivered, and the look in her eyes suddenly changed.
Xu Mo had logged in.
“No way, you’re too pathetic. Why are you acting so timid?”
“To avoid any potential frustration, let me handle this introduction.”
Xu Mo rolled his shoulders and took two steps back.
Without another word, he raised his leg—and kicked the heavy training hall doors open!
Bang!
The doors slammed open, and Xu Mo sauntered inside with a swagger.
“Hello, students! Is anyone home?”
“No one’s coming out to line the path and welcome me?”
In her mind, Bai Feifei’s voice trembled. “Was it really necessary to start like that? You’re supposed to be a teacher...”
“So what if I’m a teacher? As the saying goes, a teacher beats the students, and a student beats the teacher. Their status doesn't matter; what matters is who I am.”
Before he could finish, a cacophony of “welcoming” sounds suddenly erupted in the room.
“Welcome, new teacher!”
“Welcome, new teacher!”
The voices were incredibly loud, the volume high enough to make one’s eardrums throb with pain.
This wasn’t a welcome; it was a blatant sonic attack!
As the powerful shockwave slammed into him, the corners of Xu Mo’s mouth curled upward.
Oh? These brats were quite dedicated. He’d treat this like a side quest minigame.
Xu Mo let out a few loud laughs and flicked his wrist, sending a silver light flying!
It was his bracer transformed into a dagger. The blade was long and thin, its tip shimmering with a cold glint.
The flying blade traced an arc through the air, directly striking a special prop hidden in the ceiling.
The device erupted in a shower of sparks, and the ear-splitting “welcome” instantly went silent.
Xu Mo didn’t stop there, continuing to flick blades out from his storage ring.
A second, a third, a fourth.
Four daggers flew out simultaneously, pinning themselves with pinpoint accuracy into the small sound wave devices hidden in the four corners of the training hall.
The sound of electronics short-circuiting followed.
All the devices were destroyed in a flash of sparks, and the piercing noise vanished completely.
“Any more?” Xu Mo chuckled.
As soon as the words left his mouth, several soft clicks echoed from above.
Something flipped open in the ceiling.
Two people actually dropped down!
They held a net that shimmered with an inky green light. A viscous liquid dripped from the mesh, looking suspiciously like some kind of industrial glue.
In the corner, another dark figure moved at the same time, their coordination seamless as they cut off Bai Feifei’s retreat.
Xu Mo scoffed.
He spun on the spot, his feet pushing off with enough force to shift his entire body half a meter to the side like he had teleported.
The trap from the ceiling came crashing down, but Xu Mo didn't bother dodging it. Instead, he threw a heavy punch straight up!
Boom!
Under the force of his fist, the ceiling panel was smashed to smithereens!
The shockwave of the explosion sent the two people who had pounced down flying, slamming them into the mats like ragdolls.
“Cough, cough, cough—”
A second later, a series of choked coughs filled the training hall.
Several figures rushed out as a massive cloud of white flour was hurled toward him. Xu Mo simply clenched his right fist!
He raised his hand and punched the air in front of him, causing a surge of air currents!
When his fist struck out, the flour floating in the air was blown away by a terrifying gust of wind before it could even get close, scattering like mist in a gale.
At the same time, a pink-haired head suddenly charged at him in his field of vision.
The opponent held a weapon, though Xu Mo couldn’t quite tell what it was.
He raised his hand, shifting his fist into a palm, and grabbed the person directly by the face!
Like throwing a beanbag, he slammed the person straight into the dust and flour that still filled half the room.
As the dust slowly settled, Xu Mo took a step back and looked around.
It seemed this welcome ceremony was over.
The pink-haired girl was Ye Yu. she slid down the wall until she was sitting on the floor, her eyes dazed and her mind a complete blank.
From the moment she charged out to the moment she felt like she was flying through the clouds, the entire process had been too fast. She hadn't even had time to process what was happening before her world started spinning.
This new teacher was only a Rank 4 Scavenger?
That was such a fluid performance.
She looked up in disbelief, wanting to see exactly who this person was.
Then, she saw the somewhat familiar figure of “Bai Feifei.”
Holy crap!
It’s her!?
Ye Yu felt as if her entire world had collapsed.
How was this possible? With her abilities, how could she have been assigned as their instructor? What on earth had she just done?!
Meanwhile, Xu Mo clapped the dust off his hands. Seeing no further attacks, a hint of disappointment flashed in his eyes as he shouted:
“Is that it? No more tricks? That was a pretty mediocre effort.”
“Are you playing house with me? You’re all adults, yet you came up with this harmless crap.”
“Even if you don’t have a proper Containment Object, you should have at least used some poison, some real blades and spears, or maybe set up a couple of machine guns?”
“Using flour... hah... damn.”
As Xu Mo mocked them, his eyes landed on the pink-haired girl who was now white from the flour. He suddenly found her familiar.
He raised an eyebrow as he remembered. Wasn’t this the little fangirl who had insisted on following Bai Feifei during the exploration of the underground coal mine?
“Oh, it’s you,” Xu Mo laughed. “What, are you the ringleader here? Look at you, all grown up.”
