For the first time in his life, Samael felt true terror. He tried desperately to flee, but with his head firmly grasped, all his struggles were in vain.
Then, a despairing weight slammed solidly into Samael’s face.
Samael was sent spinning through the air several times before crashing heavily to the ground.
“I’ll—” Samael roared.
However, Lilith appeared before him once again, her fist raised high.
Each punch that followed was accompanied by the crisp sound of shattering bones and Samael’s gradually weakening screams of agony.
Derrick and the Shadow Guards had long since collapsed to the ground, their faces ashen with fear. They didn’t even have the courage to run, forced to watch as the powerful leader they admired was treated like a human punching bag, beaten alive by her fists.
Lilith’s expression remained calm throughout, even showing a hint of focus.
“Is that all?”
Lilith looked at Samael, who lay motionless on the ground, and suddenly felt bored.
She reached out and aimed at Samael. After a flash of light, Samael’s body began to recover at a rate visible to the naked eye.
Samael had just barely regained consciousness when he was immediately kicked away by Lilith.
After Samael’s body had been broken and restored several more times, Lilith finally stopped her movements.
She straightened up and shook out her right hand.
Samael no longer looked human. He lay in the crater, motionless.
Samael, Rank 7 demon: Deceased.
She turned around, her gaze sweeping toward the edge of the plaza.
There stood Derrick, the four Shadow Guards, and the few remaining Rank 4 demons.
The moment Lilith’s gaze landed on them, everyone dropped to their knees, their foreheads pressed firmly against the ground in a show of total submission.
Lilith looked at them, remaining silent for a few seconds.
Finally, Lilith spoke:
“You.”
All the demons shuddered violently, bowing their heads even lower.
“Do you know how to return to the Demon Realm?”
The question was simple, yet it left Derrick and the others stunned for a moment.
Return to the Demon Realm?
Does the Demon King... not know how to go back?
Lilith naturally didn’t know how to return. After all, she had been sent out by Veen using a teleportation circle and had no idea what the return path was.
At that moment, a spark of inspiration flashed in Derrick’s mind. He realized this was an opportunity! An opportunity to show loyalty and plead for leniency!
Without any hesitation, Derrick responded in the most respectful tone and at the fastest speed possible:
“Reporting to the Demon King! With your supreme power, you could theoretically tear through space directly and return to any location in the Demon Realm whose coordinates you know!”
He offered a small bit of flattery before quickly getting to the point. “Of course, if you don’t mind... Samael... no, that traitor! He set up a temporary teleportation tunnel at the rich magic crystal vein to the north!”
“That tunnel was originally intended for transporting supplies and information. You can definitely return to the Demon Realm through that tunnel!”
As he spoke, he cautiously raised a hand and pointed in the direction of the vein.
Lilith glanced in the direction he pointed and nodded.
“Lead the way,” she said succinctly.
“Yes, yes! Lord, please follow me!”
Derrick felt as if he had been granted a divine amnesty. He scrambled to his feet, though his legs were still a bit weak, causing him to stumble before finding his balance.
He didn’t dare dally, immediately walking briskly toward the northern vein while barking at the Shadow Guards and demons who were still kneeling, “What are you waiting for?! Clear the path for the Demon King!”
Several demons scrambled to their feet and rushed to the front and sides, acting as guards while simultaneously appearing terrified of getting too close to Lilith.
Lilith followed behind Derrick, walking at an unhurried pace.
She tidied her somewhat messy hair.
As they passed Samael’s gruesome corpse, Derrick and the other demons subconsciously held their breath and quickened their pace, not daring to steal even a second glance.
Lilith thought as she walked.
She decided that after returning to the Demon Realm, she would drag out all the demons who had sided with the First of the Four Calamities and play a game of exterminating their nine generations.
However, tearing through space? It sounded impressive, but she wasn’t sure if she could control it precisely yet.
If she tore into the wrong place and fell into spatial turbulence or some unknown plane, it would be too much trouble.
It was safer to use an existing teleportation tunnel.
