Although Rakshasi’s swing came quite suddenly, Su Qing was fortunately prepared for it.
However, even with her preparation, while Su Qing could withstand one swing, she couldn't hold out against several successive blasts. In the end, she was still fanned away.
This Plantain Fan was truly formidable—a supreme treasure. In terms of rarity and power, it even surpassed Leng Xiang.
Among similar Dharma treasures, it was a top-tier existence. The only other fan Su Qing knew of that was on the same level was the one Taishang Laojun used to fan the flames of his Eight Trigrams Furnace.
One shouldn't think that a fan used for stoking fires was useless. In Taishang Laojun’s possession, every item used for alchemy was a world-class treasure. Even the gourd he used just to hold water was enough to give Wukong a serious headache. If any demon on Earth managed to steal even one of his treasures, they could terrorize an entire region. It went without saying what level of treasure a fan comparable to Laojun’s would be.
It was only natural for Su Qing to be fanned away.
However, thanks to her mental preparation and focus, although she was sent flying by several swings, she didn't travel very far.
The Plantain Fan was powerful, but its effect was relatively singular. Therefore, it was actually quite simple to deal with.
As Su Qing was being blown back, she formed a hand seal and cast a spell to resist the gale. Consequently, she stopped after flying only about a li. When she looked up, she could still see the shocked expression on Rakshasi’s face.
Clearly, Su Qing's situation was not what Rakshasi had expected.
While Rakshasi was still dazed, Su Qing fixed her gaze on her, and with a sudden leap, she landed right in front of the woman.
Resting Leng Xiang against Rakshasi’s neck, Su Qing asked with a smile, "Sister Rakshasi, are you in the mood to listen to me now? Honestly, Sister, why such a temper? Sisters turning on each other is never a good thing!"
Rakshasi instinctively took a step back. She hadn't expected Su Qing to be so powerful. The battle had only just begun, and she had already been defeated.
Rakshasi opened her mouth to reply, but suddenly, a thunderous roar echoed from the distant sky.
"Don't you dare hurt my wife! Prepare to die!"
Hearing this, Rakshasi instinctively felt a wave of relief. Her reinforcements had arrived.
While her own strength was average, her husband, the Bull Demon King, was extraordinary. He should surely be able to take down Su Qing.
Su Qing’s eyebrows twitched at the sound. She turned toward the source of the voice and saw the Bull Demon King charging toward her, brandishing his weapon.
She couldn't help but feel helpless. The Bull Demon King’s timing was impeccable.
"Hmph! Fine. Since you're here, I might as well beat you into submission too. It saves me the trouble of trying to talk sense into this bull later."
With that thought, Su Qing let out a cold snort and swung her sword.
When fighting Rakshasi, Su Qing had to restrain her strength to avoid actually hurting her. But when fighting the Bull Demon King, Su Qing wouldn't be nearly as gentle.
The Bull Demon King was famous for his bull-headed temper—he was as stubborn as they came. If she didn't make him submit all at once, he would definitely harass her for a long time afterward.
Su Qing’s strike unleashed a blast of icy sword Qi toward the Bull Demon King. This Qi tore across the earth, carrying an invincible power.
The Bull Demon King felt a chill in his heart as the sword Qi approached. He could sense its terrifying power and didn't dare face it head-on. He quickly twisted his body to dodge, and though he moved in time, he was still nearly struck. After evading the attack, he felt a lingering fear, grateful that he had successfully avoided it.
He turned to look at the ground where the sword Qi had passed and couldn't help but gasp. That seemingly casual strike had carved a massive fissure into the earth.
"Who exactly are you?" the Bull Demon King asked in horror. "Why are you capturing my wife?"
Su Qing’s mouth twitched slightly. "Can't you tell? I am Su Qing. Besides, I wasn't the one who started this! Sister Rakshasi lost her mind and insisted on fighting me. I only stepped in to stop her."
Su Qing didn't want to be misunderstood as a violent person; she had always been a lover of peace.
"You're really Su Qing?"
"Of course. Could there be a fake?" Su Qing rolled her eyes helplessly and pulled out her Celestial Official Seal.
Upon seeing the seal, the Bull Demon King was certain. This was indeed Su Qing. A divinely appointed Celestial Official Seal could never be faked, and Su Qing was indeed the Mountain God of the Changbai Mountains. The person before him was undoubtedly the real Su Qing.
However, the Bull Demon King was puzzled. In his memory, Su Qing's strength shouldn't have been this terrifying!
"Have you been hiding your strength all this time?" the Bull Demon King asked with a frown.
Su Qing looked at him and shook her head. "It's not exactly hiding it. I just don't like showing off. I've always preferred to keep a low profile... I have no desire to flaunt my power."
Su Qing was telling the truth. She had never intentionally hidden her strength from other cultivators; she simply didn't display it. Could something not displayed be called hidden?
The Bull Demon King’s mouth twitched, feeling that Su Qing was doing this on purpose. However, since she had the bigger fist, he couldn't say much even if she was. He said, "I see, I see. A low profile. You certainly keep a low profile—so low that even I underestimated you. Truly, appearances can be deceiving! Your usual behavior is far too misleading."
Of course, the main reason was that Su Qing didn't interact with them very often. It was normal for them not to understand her true strength. Occasionally, when the Bull Demon King heard rumors among demons about Su Qing's great power, he had assumed it was just someone with the same name. But thinking back now... how many female demons who liked women could there be? Those rumors were clearly about her.
Su Qing smiled and shook her head, speaking with her usual pleasant demeanor. "I suppose I am quite misleading. I can't blame you. Now, are you two in the mood to hear my explanation?"
The Bull Demon King sighed. "We can. Of course we can listen to your explanation. But first, please put your sword down. It wouldn't be good if you accidentally hurt my wife. Also, I apologize for my actions just now. I didn't realize it was you... Had I known, I naturally wouldn't have raised a hand against you."
In truth, the Bull Demon King hadn't even had the chance to act; he had been intercepted by Su Qing's sword while still on his way. His apology was mainly a hope that Su Qing would cool down and stop holding a blade to his wife's throat. Although he knew Su Qing didn't intend to kill them, that sword gave him a very bad feeling. He was afraid that one lapse in her attention might actually result in his wife being beheaded.
Seeing the Bull Demon King’s attitude, Su Qing turned her gaze back to Rakshasi. She asked again, "So, Sister Rakshasi, have you calmed down now?"
Rakshasi was speechless and could only nod. She had naturally calmed down; even if she hadn't, she would have to with a sword at her neck. Moreover, she understood her husband's character. Since even he had backed down, it meant he had no chance of winning against Su Qing either. There was no point in persisting. She had a fiery temper, but she was level-headed enough not to do something irrational in such a disadvantageous situation.
Seeing Rakshasi nod, Su Qing’s smile widened. She knew they had both calmed down.
"Using force isn't ideal, but sometimes it really is effective," Su Qing thought to herself.
Since they were calm, there was no need to keep the sword at her neck. She released her grip, and Leng Xiang transformed back into her human form, standing by Su Qing's side.
The Bull Demon King was surprised to see this. He had met Leng Xiang long ago but never knew her true nature. He found himself increasingly unable to see through Su Qing and her companions.
Just as Su Qing successfully subdued the couple, Sun Wukong finally returned. He wasn't actually that late, and his speed wasn't slow; it was just that he had been fanned quite far, and Su Qing hadn't taken long to subdue the two. The whole ordeal had taken less than a few minutes. With such a complete suppression of power, there was no need to drag things out.
When Wukong returned to the entrance of the Banana Leaf Cave and saw that Su Qing had the situation completely under control, he was somewhat surprised. He had thought Su Qing had also been blown far away, but instead, she hadn't been moved and had even settled the matter. He breathed a sigh of relief. Since his Big Sister had controlled the situation, obtaining the Plantain Fan would be easy.
Wukong felt that he had truly made the right choice in seeking Su Qing’s help. Only she could have settled this so smoothly. Even if he had brought Guanyin Bodhisattva, the matter might not have been resolved this quickly.
"Wukong?" The Bull Demon King beamed when he saw Wukong. "Why are you here too?"
"I came with Big Sister. I'm the one who asked her to come," Wukong replied with a cheeky grin.
"Hahaha! Good brother, it’s been a long time!"
"Big Brother!"
"Little Brother!"
Wukong and the Bull Demon King immediately became friendly, as if several centuries hadn't passed since they last met. Because of Su Qing's intervention, the subsequent events didn't happen, and the Bull Demon King naturally didn't turn against Wukong. Of course, this warmth was also partly due to Su Qing's display of power. As the saying goes, when brothers go three years without seeing each other, the kinship fades—and the Bull Demon King and Wukong had been apart for much longer than that.
Su Qing didn't pay much attention to the interaction between Wukong and the Bull Demon King. After a quick glance, she let the two of them chat while she focused on talking to Rakshasi.
She looked at Rakshasi and asked with a smile, "I presume Sister can listen to my explanation properly now?"
Rakshasi gave a bitter smile. "Do I have a choice? I wanted to give you a thrashing to keep you away from my daughter, but who knew you were so powerful that even I am no match for you?"
Su Qing laughed helplessly. "So, you really did misunderstand me!"
"Misunderstand?" Rakshasi was speechless. Her daughter had already turned out like that—how could it be a misunderstanding? However, out of respect for Su Qing's power, she didn't say much and only offered another bitter smile.
Su Qing naturally knew that Rakshasi didn't quite believe her. She explained how she usually treated her daughter and stated that the rumors about her were pure fabrications and lies. However, despite the explanation, Rakshasi still didn't truly believe her. After all, her daughter's heart had been turned toward women—who would believe it was a misunderstanding? Rakshasi certainly didn't.
Even the Bull Demon King, listening from the side, rolled his eyes in disbelief. If he could have convinced Red Boy to return home even a little bit, he might have believed Su Qing. Unfortunately, he didn't dare say anything. Who told him he wasn't her match?
Rakshasi felt frustrated but could only nod and say, "I understand. It was all a misunderstanding."
Su Qing was speechless at her reluctant tone. She looked at Leng Xiang, hoping she would help explain to add some credibility, but Leng Xiang turned her face away, clearly unwilling to help.
Su Qing: "..."
"Sigh, whether you believe it or not, I truly had no intention of making a move on your daughter! While I might be responsible for her turning out that way, honestly, I never planned to kidnap her. The reason I brought her to the Changbai Mountains was only to save her."
"To save my daughter?"
"That silly girl captured Tang Sanzang, wanting to carve him up so everyone could have a taste of his flesh. But Tang Sanzang belongs to the Buddha; he is the pilgrim personally appointed by the Buddha and is protected by Buddhism throughout his journey. If I hadn't taken her to the Changbai Mountains, she would likely have been captured by Guanyin Bodhisattva for re-education by now."
"..." Rakshasi looked at Su Qing and nodded helplessly. Her daughter had mentioned this to her before, but she hadn't taken it seriously. She hadn't thought it was true, especially coming from Su Qing. However, she decided to play along.
She didn't want to fight Su Qing again.
"Sigh, forget it. Come inside the residence so we can talk. Standing out here isn't right. Also, I was too impulsive earlier; I apologize for that."
"No matter, no matter. Such is the heart of a parent!" Su Qing waved it off dismissively.
