Chapter 430 · Volume 1

A Truly Innocent Misunderstanding

Wukong didn't refuse the request when he heard it...
He simply said, "I'll tell you, Big Sister, but you mustn't get angry."
Su Qing took a calm sip of her tea, looking entirely unruffled. "Do I look like the type of person who gets angry over trifles? Speak."
Su Qing truly wasn't a petty person, and she was genuinely curious about how she had managed to provoke Rakshasi so much that the mere mention of her name caused such a flare-up.
Seeing Su Qing's attitude, Wukong naturally stopped beating around the bush. Since his Big Sister had already promised not to get angry, he felt safe to proceed.
Squatting on the stool, Wukong scratched the back of his hand. "When I went to find Rakshasi and mentioned you, she became exceptionally furious. She said... you've corrupted her daughter."
Su Qing didn't react much to that.
However, Wukong wasn't finished. He continued, "Rakshasi also said there is no way she would ever let Red Boy marry you. She claimed you've confused her daughter's orientation. Then, she got angrier and angrier until she just fanned me away."
Wukong felt quite wronged by the whole ordeal...
He hadn't even had the chance to explain before he was sent flying.
In Wukong's opinion, a woman who had lost control of her emotions was truly unreasonable.
Upon hearing this, Su Qing couldn't hold her composure anymore and suddenly broke into a coughing fit.
"Huh?"
Wukong scratched his head, not daring to say more, simply waiting for Su Qing to speak.
After coughing for a while, Su Qing finally recovered. She exhaled a long breath of turbid air and said, "I never imagined she would misunderstand me as that kind of person."
Su Qing was helpless. She clearly never had such intentions, yet she was being accused of trying to kidnap the woman's daughter...
What made her even more frustrated was the realization that this misunderstanding was likely caused by those widespread rumors about her.
The more she thought about it, the more she wanted to find whoever was spreading those rumors and give them a thorough thrashing.
It was infuriating...
"No wonder Red Boy never came back after going home... It turns out she was grounded by her parents!" Su Qing thought to herself.
She let out a long sigh. She never would have dreamed of such a result. She had assumed Red Boy stayed away because of the little demons under her command.
Wukong scratched his head as he listened to Su Qing's words.
To be honest, when he first heard Rakshasi say those things, he hadn't suspected it was a misunderstanding. After all, his Big Sister was indeed capable of such things.
Just look—how long had it been since the incident with the Six-Eared Macaque? And yet, Big Sister had already brought another beautiful woman back with her.
"Big Sister?" Wukong called out.
Su Qing waved a hand. "Don't worry, my emotions are stable. Now that you've said this, I have a general idea of why you came to find me. You want me to step in and help convince Rakshasi to lend you the Plantain Fan, right?"
Wukong gave a cheeky grin. "As expected, Big Sister is clever."
Su Qing rolled her eyes and said helplessly, "You came to me and told me all this; how could I not know your goal? However, since you know she misunderstood me and is furious with me, why did you still come to find me? Aren't you afraid that as soon as I show up, we'll just end up fighting?"
Wukong scratched his head. "I figured that since Big Sister is so powerful, Rakshasi is no match for you anyway. Once you subdue her, won't you have plenty of chances to explain the situation?"
"..." Su Qing was speechless.
She finally understood why Guanyin and the Buddha had told her to avoid personally helping Wukong as much as possible.
"And what if her husband, the Bull Demon King, returns? What will you do then?"
"The Bull Demon King is my sworn brother," Wukong grinned. "My Big Brother is a reasonable man; he shouldn't act recklessly."
Su Qing's mouth twitched. How should she put it?
She had a feeling she would end up fighting both of them.
As for how she knew... it was because the Bull Demon King had been wary of her 'kidnapping' his daughter for a long time.
Of course, Su Qing felt the need to declare in her heart once more: she truly had no intention of kidnapping anyone's daughter.
"I hope so..." Su Qing shook her head, then stood up. "Fine, regardless of the situation, I'll go with you this time. But we wait until I've finished lunch... By the way, have you eaten? If not, join us."
Wukong shook his head. "I'll pass. I've switched to a vegetarian diet now."
"It's not like we don't have vegetarian dishes... but whatever, suit yourself. If you want something to eat, there are a few fruit trees outside that have just ripened." After saying that, Su Qing walked into the living room to eat.
Wukong grinned and nodded.
Compared to mortal rice, Wukong did indeed prefer fruit. He was a monkey, after all.
Lunch didn't take long.
After a quick meal, Su Qing walked out into the courtyard to call Wukong to depart.
In the courtyard, Wukong was holding a pile of fruit in his arms, eating happily.
Su Qing gave a helpless smile. "Let's go. We'll go see Rakshasi and clear this whole thing up."
Wukong nodded quickly, not even waiting to swallow the food in his mouth before saying, "I'm coming!"
Su Qing chuckled, then waved her hand and said to Leng Xiang, "Leng Xiang, come with me too. There might be a fight later; I'll need you with me."
Leng Xiang didn't say much. She simply nodded and transformed back into a long sword, landing in Su Qing's hand.
The sword remained as ornate as ever, giving off the impression of a treasure too beautiful for combat.
But the moment she was drawn, the cold glint was staggering, and the chill was terrifying.
Even Chen Nianxin, who was watching from the sidelines, was inwardly shocked.
She hadn't realized that the usually icy Leng Xiang was actually a precious sword, and one that was clearly extraordinary.
She couldn't help but feel a bit lucky that she hadn't truly faced Su Qing in a direct confrontation. If she had, she suspected she would have died a miserable death.
As Su Qing gripped Leng Xiang, she couldn't help but smile. It had indeed been a long time since she had held Leng Xiang like this; she felt a bit nostalgic.
Su Qing rarely fought, so she rarely had a use for Leng Xiang. Even when she did have to fight, she could usually subdue her enemies easily without needing a weapon.
This time was technically the same; even without a weapon, Su Qing could easily take down Rakshasi. The reason she chose to bring Leng Xiang was simply to let the sword spirit get some fresh air and stretch her limbs.
Of course, if Rakshasi started being reasonable as soon as they met and they didn't end up fighting, then Su Qing would be out of luck. She couldn't very well draw a blade against someone who was trying to talk sense.
Once everything was ready, Su Qing and Wukong headed toward the Banana Leaf Cave.
After Su Qing left, her clone looked at Chen Nianxin and said, "Stop staring. Let's go wash the dishes."
Chen Nianxin glanced at the clone, feeling a bit annoyed. Even though Su Qing had left, there was still another one right here... how could she not be annoyed?
On the other side, Su Qing, Wukong, and Leng Xiang had arrived near the Banana Leaf Cave.
The scenery outside the cave remained exactly as it had been years ago, without much change. It was still a beautiful, secluded paradise.
Su Qing approached the door of the Banana Leaf Cave with practiced ease and knocked twice. The sound immediately echoed throughout the entire residence.
Inside the cave, Rakshasi was earnestly lecturing her daughter, Niu Shengying—also known as Red Boy.
Just then, the sound of knocking came from the door, and the commotion was surprisingly loud.
Rakshasi frowned, thinking, "Is that wretched monkey back again? Hmph... fine, I'll just ignore him."
Rakshasi had no intention of answering the door. However, a woman's voice then rang out from outside.
It was Su Qing's voice.
Upon hearing it, Red Boy immediately stood up. "Sister Su is here!"
"Hmph, that woman actually dares to show her face!"
Rakshasi was stunned for a moment after hearing Su Qing's voice, but her expression quickly turned to one of extreme displeasure. She said, "Don't even think about running back to follow Su Qing... You can certainly learn many things from her, but you've learned the wrong things! How could you learn to like women just like her? No matter what, I will never agree to you going back, and I certainly won't agree to you marrying her in the future."
"Mother, Sister Su really didn't teach me that, and she didn't do anything to me... I'm the one who wants to follow her," Red Boy said indignantly. "Besides, Sister Su is so wonderful; there's nothing wrong with marrying her."
"Hmph, what do you mean 'nothing wrong'? Setting aside the fact that she's a woman, how many wives does she already have? And you're still so young! How could I let you marry her?" Rakshasi snorted coldly. "Enough... I'm going out to deal with Su Qing. You stay right here in the cave!"
"I won't!"
"Throwing a tantrum won't help. Just stay put; your father will be back soon." As Rakshasi spoke, she performed a hand seal to temporarily confine Red Boy. She then said to the nearby maidservants, "Keep a close eye on this brat. Don't let her run off."
With that, Rakshasi ignored whatever her daughter was saying. She stood up, left the inner chambers, and headed toward the cave entrance.
Su Qing was waiting outside.
Wukong asked, "Big Sister, should we just smash the door open?"
"Is your mind just a single track when you're with me?" Su Qing rolled her eyes at him. "We'll be reasonable if we can. There's no need to start a fight the moment we meet."
Wukong scratched his head and nodded helplessly.
Before long, the cave door opened.
Rakshasi emerged, wielding twin swords and looking aggressive. As soon as she saw Su Qing, she shouted, "Su Qing, you bold woman! I treated you like a sister, yet you want to sleep with my daughter!?"
Su Qing almost choked on her own saliva when she heard this. She hadn't expected Rakshasi to open with such a line.
"Sister Rakshasi... I truly never had such thoughts. You've really misunderstood me!" Su Qing shook her head and said helplessly, "Where on earth did you hear such things?"
"Hmph, enough talk! Take my sword first!" Rakshasi clearly had no intention of listening to Su Qing's explanation. After only two sentences, she lunged directly at Su Qing.
Seeing this, Wukong was about to step in.
Su Qing waved him off, signaling for him to stay back and let her handle Rakshasi.
Su Qing drew the Cold Fragrance Sword and blocked Rakshasi's incoming strike. Then, with a slight exertion of force, she sliced the other woman's precious sword clean in two.
The process was effortless, as easy as slicing through tofu.
Su Qing's Cold Fragrance Sword was incredibly sharp; even among the weapons of the Heavenly Court, few could rival it. Rakshasi's twin swords were clearly no match for it, especially since they didn't even reach the level of a peak Earthly Immortal's weapon.
After snapping the sword, Su Qing continued her advance, suppressing Rakshasi. She didn't go all out, using less than thirty percent of her strength.
Rakshasi's strength was decent, but the gap in their cultivation realms was simply too vast. Combined with Su Qing's Earthly Immortal-grade sword, the double advantage meant that even thirty percent of her power was enough to overwhelm Rakshasi.
Wukong watched the scene from the side, once again marveling at Su Qing's power.
To be honest, he could no longer tell exactly how strong Su Qing was. While it was unlikely she was stronger than Guanyin Bodhisattva, she was definitely more powerful than most Bodhisattvas and deities.
Unfortunately, Su Qing was usually very low-key and disliked conflict, so Wukong didn't know just how formidable she would be if she went all out. The only thing he was certain of was that he was no longer a match for his Big Sister.
"Big Sister, watch out for her Plantain Fan! That fan is incredibly powerful—one swing can send you tens of thousands of miles!" Wukong knew that once Rakshasi was at a disadvantage, she would inevitably use her Dharma treasure. He couldn't easily interfere, so he could only offer a verbal warning.
Su Qing ignored him. How could she not know that Rakshasi would use her treasure? She had been prepared for it all along.
On the other hand, after hearing Wukong's words, Rakshasi stopped holding back. She immediately pulled out the Plantain Fan and swung it toward Su Qing.
Su Qing's strength had indeed exceeded her expectations. She had thought she could at least manage a thirty-seventy split against Su Qing, but she found herself being suppressed the entire time.
Fortunately, she still had her Dharma treasure... the only pity was that she couldn't catch Su Qing off guard now.
Rakshasi fanned the Plantain Fan, and a terrifying hurricane instantly erupted, blowing toward Su Qing and Wukong, who was watching from behind.
Wukong quickly took out his Golden-Hooped Rod and thrust it into the ground to prevent himself from being blown away, but in the end, he was still sent flying by the single swing. He vanished from sight in the blink of an eye.
Wukong was incredibly frustrated. Right after he finished his warning, Rakshasi had fanned them. He hadn't even had time to prepare himself before being blown out of the area.
It was quite embarrassing.
"I wonder where Big Sister was blown to."
Wukong looked around but saw no sign of Su Qing. He couldn't help but wonder if she had also been fanned away, and if so, where she was now.
