Chapter 87 · Volume 1

Mother Dragon in Battle!

In just an instant,
the black smoke enveloping the entire capital of the Duchy of Reny was forcibly torn open!
A figure crashed in like a meteor!
With a booming crash,
they smashed a massive crater into the ground.
Several unlucky ogres were crushed to death on the spot.
“Oh, if it isn't Lady Tracy, the Valkyrie of the Rose Empire?”
It was the Mother Dragon, Sylvely, who spoke first.
“What is this? Did you get lost while out for a stroll?”
She lowered her neck with a look of utter disdain.
A powerful pressure swept toward the uninvited guest.
Countless black dragon vassals, who had been busy hauling treasure, felt as though they had been struck by a massive mountain.
Their legs buckled, and they fell straight to their knees.
And this was merely the aftereffect of her Dragon Fear.
Inside the collapsed crater, the smoke gradually dissipated,
revealing the target locked in by the Dragon Fear.
This was a fully armed woman with a longsword strapped to her back.
Golden flames burned across her body.
Her golden hair looked even more dazzling at this moment.
The Legendary Grand Warrior named Tracy slowly stood tall and walked out of the deep crater.
With one hand, she drew the longsword from her back,
her gaze remaining locked onto the black dragon the entire time.
Her expression was completely calm and unbothered.
The Dragon Fear seemed to have absolutely no effect on her.
“Clank, clank—”
Her tassets made crisp clanking sounds as she walked,
accompanied by a cold, clear voice.
“Evil dragon, you have crossed the line!”
Tracy raised her longsword, its tip pointing directly at the Mother Dragon, Sylvely.
As soon as she spoke,
an incredibly powerful force, bordering on the power of law, radiated outward from the tip of her sword!
Any black mist enveloped by this power melted away instantly, like snow meeting a blazing fire.
It quickly dissolved into nothingness!
...
The dark clouds dispersed.
The war was over too.
When the Gold Rank Grand Warrior Renn was ignominiously beaten to death by a mob,
it had come to an absolute end!
As for those fiercely loyal wolf riders,
they had been completely wiped out!
They fought to their very last breath, never surrendering.
Unfortunately,
against the joint suppression of two black dragons, they were merely a mantis trying to stop a chariot.
...
“Your Grace.”
Fido, clad in his power armor, strode over.
The broadsword on his back had snapped in two, and his armor bore numerous battle scars.
Aside from grief, a hint of hard-to-conceal joy was visible on his canine face.
For this old kobold, this battle was undoubtedly a glorious one.
Before this, he hadn't even thought they could win.
Years of being oppressed had made Fido mentally prepared to be slaughtered in defeat.
Now that they had won, he was naturally ecstatic.
“How is it? Have the casualty figures been compiled?”
Irene stood with her hands in her pockets, her gaze sweeping across the beastkin and half-beastkin who were clearing the battlefield.
“They are mostly compiled.”
Fido's expression returned to normal, masking his brief joy.
He spoke in a somewhat heavy tone:
“In this battle, we lost about a third of our regular beastkin and half-beastkin soldiers.
“We lost over one thousand seven hundred Black Knights.
“Eleven of the Imperial Guard fell.
“As for the wounded... almost everyone is injured...”
Irene nodded.
Her gaze swept across the entire battlefield,
pausing briefly on Daviel, who was furiously desecrating a wyvern's corpse,
before moving on.
The wind carried the sound of wailing into her ears.
Irene silently swore in her heart.
She would make them pay!
Even if the enemy's losses were far greater than hers.
“Fido,” Irene suddenly spoke again, “spread the word. I want to hold a grand funeral for all the warriors who sacrificed their lives in this war!
“We will forge a monument of glory for them!”
Fido raised his right hand, pounded his chest heavily, and roared, “By your will!”
...
“Iron Bull!”
In a corner of the battlefield,
One-Horn the sheepkin knelt on the ground, staring at the minotaur before him, who was charred black beyond recognition.
He reached out, completely at a loss.
Beside him, Muge the gnoll propped herself up with her spear, silently looking at the shape lying nearby.
A frost wolf that was no longer recognizable.
