He slowly reached out, gently wiping away the tears from the corners of Rosal’s eyes, and whispered softly.
“Blaze, I’ll leave the small fry to you.”
The red-haired man’s voice was cold and steady, as if everything before him was within his grasp.
As his words fell, the massive bird beside him seemed to respond to his command. It let out a soft cry before suddenly flapping its wings, kicking up a scorching storm.
The storm contained staggering energy, instantly enveloping the smaller Void Demons nearby.
Large sparks rapidly erupted on the Void Demons' bodies, spreading at an incredible speed and igniting the entire top of the wall.
In mere moments, the entire wall was consumed by a gold-red sea of fire. The Void Demons were silently reduced to ashes in the flames, and a strange burnt smell filled the air.
Countless Void Demons were turned to ash by the silent fire within ten seconds. More surprisingly, despite the flames raging so close, the people on the wall didn't feel any intense heat. Instead, they only felt a faint warmth brush against their cheeks, even feeling somewhat comfortable.
Seeing countless of its kind instantly turned to ash, the blind Amalgam seemed to sense an unprecedented crisis. Its thick legs kicked off the ground with a heavy thud as it tried to flee from the terrifying sea of fire.
It was too late. The red-haired man’s figure moved like a ghost. Accompanied by a flash of purple lightning, he vanished from Rosal’s sight, reappearing steadily atop the Amalgam’s head.
He reached out his left hand and pressed it down on the monster’s shoulder with deceptive ease. Yet, in that instant, he pinned the behemoth—which even Iron Man No. 23 had struggled to suppress—to the ground.
The monster’s struggle was futile. It seemed to feel an unprecedented despair, its limbs flailing wildly against the ground, yet it could no longer break free from the man’s restraint.
The man did not hesitate. With a sweep of his right hand, he drew the heavy purple greatsword from his back. Like a bolt of purple lightning cutting through the air, it plunged straight into the monster’s heart.
The blade pierced through the Amalgam’s body like a knife through butter, pinning it deeply into the floor and fixing it there, unable to move an inch.
At that moment, even the sky seemed to respond to the battle. The clouds above the fortress suddenly changed color; the previously bright blue sky was replaced by heavy black clouds. Storm clouds rolled over the wall, releasing a heavy, terrifying aura.
A second later, a thick bolt of lightning tore through the sky like the wrath of a god, striking precisely onto the greatsword embedded in the monster’s chest.
Purple lightning and the greatsword resonated together, erupting in a blinding light that enveloped the monster in destructive energy.
Under the bombardment of this Sword of Divine Punishment, even the Amalgam, with its formidable vitality, began to lose its ability to move. Its body gradually collapsed under the dual assault of lightning and the greatsword. Skin, muscle, bone... everything was being incinerated, eventually leaving only a massive block of charred black remains lying quietly on the floor.
With a casual pull from the man, the once-rampaging Amalgam instantly shattered into countless fragments.
He sheathed the greatsword with a smooth, natural motion, as if he had only performed a trivial task.
Then, under the awe-struck gazes of those around him, he walked slowly toward the light formation on the other side of the wall. He stopped a step away from the array, his deep purple eyes quietly watching Midir, who was engaged in a fierce battle with the black-gowned Void Demon.
Despite the unprecedented pressure Midir was facing, the man did not intend to interfere, only silently observing the development of the battle.
Midir naturally noticed the change behind him and the man’s arrival, but he was currently giving his all to fight the black-gowned Void Demon within the light array and could not afford to be distracted.
What frustrated him was that as the swarms of fodder Void Demons were eliminated, the pressure within the light array suddenly increased, forcing him to exert every ounce of his strength just to maintain the situation.
Just then, a loud boom echoed from the horizon. The two black wings of the black-gowned Void Demon, which had been teleported away, finally returned to the battlefield at their master’s summons, plunging toward the center of the array with a fierce gale.
Midir’s heart tightened at the sight. He quickly pulled one hand away and traced a brilliant light in the air, attempting to intercept the two black wings.
The binding power of the Light Prison clashed violently with the impact of the black wings in mid-air, erupting in bursts of blinding light and deafening roars.
Finally, with Midir’s full effort, the two black wings were barely pinned down in front of him, resolving his immediate crisis.
However, the danger was not over. Just as Midir stabilized himself, he suddenly felt a lethal aura envelop his entire body.
It made his hair stand on end, as if the scythe of the Reaper had brushed against his neck.
In this critical moment, he had to make a difficult decision—he abandoned his mana output and teleported away from his spot.
The moment Midir used teleportation to avoid the lethal strike, the sky above him suddenly split open. A massive azure glow descended like a chasm from the heavens, not only splitting the place where he had been standing but also tearing the entire wall in two.
Just as Midir had expected, the controlled Gale Sword Saint also flew in from the distant sky. Although his black armor was shattered and his body was covered in blood like a demon from hell, his power was undiminished, as if his injuries didn't exist.
Meanwhile, the array, having lost Midir’s mana support, collapsed under the impact of the azure glow. The powerful backlash was more than the ten or so priests could bear; they spat out blood and collapsed one after another.
The figure of the black-gowned Void Demon reappeared within the fading white light. Though she looked somewhat disheveled, her seductive voice was filled with triumph and arrogance.
“It seems I’ve won after all. The one who laughs last is me!”
The black-gowned Void Demon sneered. Her gown was mostly shredded from the erosion of the light element, revealing large patches of skin, and one of her arms had a deep, bone-deep burn wound.
However, these pains didn't make her back down in the slightest; instead, she became even more crazed.
With her command, the black aura left behind after the smaller Void Demons were incinerated actually reconsolidated under her control. The residual Void Energy transformed into specks of black light floating in the air, gradually forming a massive black vortex that surged toward her frantically.
As the Void Energy continued to gather, her wounds healed at an incredible speed, as if she possessed endless vitality. Not only that, her aura began to climb frantically.
“Once I’ve integrated all this energy, it will be your funeral! You useless puppet, block them for me! I only need a few seconds!”
The Void Demon’s command was like a cold wind, driving Azura to turn his body again, preparing to launch a fatal strike at Midir.
However, at that moment, a magnetic, steady male voice suddenly rang out behind Midir, cutting through the clamor and chaos of the battlefield.
“Wait. She’s already lost.”
Before Midir could process the meaning of those words, he saw a brilliant golden light flash across the western horizon.
The golden light was dazzling, as if it were tearing the entire firmament apart, making even the sun’s rays seem dim in comparison. It was charging toward the black vortex on the Azure Fortress wall with an unstoppable force.
Seeing this, Azura immediately realized something was wrong. He quickly manipulated the Azure Moon Ribbon in his hand, forming a multi-layered azure shield in the air in an attempt to block the incoming attack.
However, all these efforts were in vain.
The moment the golden light touched the azure shield, it shredded it like a sharp blade. Then, it pierced through Azura’s Sword Saint-level body and charged into the black vortex without slowing down.
In an instant, the golden glow exploded in the center of the ash storm, releasing world-shattering energy. The light was blindingly bright, illuminating everything around it.
