Chapter 250 · Volume 1

Confrontation of the Four Saints, Leaving the Academy

However, Mowei simply waved his hand gently, signaling him not to be impulsive for the moment. Then, he turned toward the giant dragon outside the barrier and spoke in a steady, powerful voice:
“Dragon King Seranox, regardless of the reason, your actions have gone a bit too far! Now, can you calm down and talk with us properly?”
Although his voice was aged and raspy, it contained a force that could not be underestimated, clearly placing immense pressure on the giant dragon, Seranox.
The madness in Seranox’s eyes subsided significantly after Mowei appeared, but he clearly had not calmed down completely. His massive maw continued to exhale scorching breath, like a volcano on the verge of eruption.
Just as the Dragon King was confronting the two men, the clouds in the sky were torn apart once more by a massive silhouette. A jet-black dragon appeared from the horizon, landing thunderously between the two parties.
This dragon’s size was not inferior to that of Dragon King Seranox. The difference lay in its black body, which was covered in fine, sharp spikes that flickered with a heart-chilling cold light under the glow of the barrier.
Its ink-black scales were incredibly deep, appearing as ancient and noble as the endless night sky.
“Salenzo... are you here to assist him, or...?”
Seeing this black dragon suddenly join the battlefield, Mowei’s wrinkled face changed slightly. He turned quickly, his tone carrying a hint of solemnity as he asked.
Two pureblood dragons of the Dragon King level appearing at once—even he found this situation unprecedentedly difficult.
“No, Mowei. I have only come to retrieve my king. I have no intention of adding more strife between us.” A low, cold voice echoed from the mouth of the black dragon called Salenzo.
After clearly stating his position, Salenzo turned back and began to communicate with Seranox in low Dragon Tongue.
Seranox appeared extremely impatient, letting out a roar and responding in Dragon Tongue.
After a brief argument between the two giant dragons in the sky, Seranox finally calmed down. His massive body began to shrink gradually, eventually transforming into a middle-aged man wearing pale golden armor, exuding a terrifying aura.
Seeing this, Salenzo also seemed to breathe a sigh of relief. His body similarly shrank, his black scales turning into a fluttering black robe as he stood behind Seranox in the form of a cold, middle-aged man.
Seeing that Seranox had temporarily quieted down, Mowei and Eventador cautiously stepped out from the protection of the barrier. They stood dozens of meters away from the dragons, their gazes meeting in a very subtle atmosphere.
“Mowei, and this young friend,” Seranox’s voice seemed to carry a hint of fatigue, “I acted recklessly this time. This dragon crystal shall serve as my apology.”
Eventador was quite displeased when he heard the Dragon King address him that way. Ever since he reached the Saint Rank, no one had dared to call him that, not even his teacher, Mowei.
However, upon seeing the head-sized, shimmering crystal Seranox tossed toward him, his irritation vanished instantly.
One had to understand that this was a complete dragon crystal—a high-density crystal that could only be formed by pureblood dragons through long years of energy nourishment. Whether it was integrated into a weapon or its energy extracted for other purposes, it was a priceless treasure.
A dragon crystal of this size would take at least a hundred years to form; its value was absolutely incalculable.
Witnessing Seranox’s gesture, Mowei couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow in surprise. “You old fellow, how are you so reasonable today? Could it be that you need to ask us for help with something?”
“Sigh,” Seranox let out a long sigh, a trace of helplessness showing in his eyes. “Indeed. Though I am reluctant, Salenzo is right—this matter does require your assistance.”
“In that case, let’s find another place to talk in detail. Evan, go close the barrier. There shouldn’t be any more problems for now,” Mowei instructed.
“Understood, Teacher.”
In the next instant, Eventador’s figure teleported into the principal’s office. Under the watchful eyes of Starlight and the others, he gently touched the white formation plate on the bookshelf, and the barrier outside the school dissipated.
“It seems we’ll have to stop here for today. Teacher and I need to handle dragon affairs, so we won’t be able to see you off. Little Star, you all act as you see fit and set out early. Have a safe trip. Oh, and don’t forget the competition next year!”
After a brief farewell to the four of them, Eventador’s figure flashed as he returned to Mowei’s side.
The four top-tier experts standing at the pinnacle of the continent exchanged a tacit look and immediately flew into the high altitude, intending to hold an undisturbed conversation in the boundless sky. The group by the window could only watch as their figures gradually vanished into the azure horizon.
Just as Starlight looked curiously at the sky, the Black Dragon King Salenzo seemed to inadvertently glance down at the castle below.
For a fleeting moment, that cold gaze met Starlight’s. In that instant, Starlight felt as if he had been cast into a freezing abyss, his entire body surrounded by a bone-chilling cold. Even the mysterious black element mark on his wrist began to agitate inexplicably, as if some power were stirring.
However, the sensation vanished in a flash. Had it not been for a faint, lingering sting on his wrist, Starlight would have almost suspected it was a mere illusion.
The figures of the four Saint Rank experts soon disappeared into the clouds. With their departure, the suffocating pressure in the air also dissipated, and the people in the academy finally breathed a sigh of relief.
“Phew~ Although I’ve seen many Saint Rank experts, this is the first time I’ve seen four of them in a confrontation! That atmosphere just now was truly terrifying!” Po Kong let out a long breath and spoke with lingering fear.
“Yes... that pressure was even much stronger than when I encountered Taros before. Fortunately, they didn't actually fight. Otherwise, the entire city might have fallen into disaster.” Moen lightly stroked her chest, her voice carrying a hint of a tremor.
“But... don’t you think the Dragon Tongue Magic that red dragon used just now felt a bit like my family’s War God Battle Qi? Not only was the color similar, but even the effect... Hmm? Little Shadow, what’s wrong?”
Po Kong recalled Seranox’s moves and muttered thoughtfully. Not only him, but Moen and Starlight also had the same feeling.
When they turned their gazes to Xia Duo, they found her standing silently by the window, seemingly lost in thought, completely oblivious to everything around her.
It wasn't until the three of them curiously walked to her side that Xia Duo suddenly snapped out of it. “Ah? What did you guys just say?”
“Sister, what were you thinking about? Taking this long to react isn't like your style,” Moen asked softly.
Under her sister’s questioning, Xia Duo pondered for a moment before speaking slowly with a hint of hesitation:
“I just overheard the general gist of the conversation between those two dragons... It seems someone sneaked into Dragon Valley and stole one of Dragon King Seranox’s treasures. Moreover, among the traces discovered, there were not only humans but also elves...”
“Did I hear that right? Someone is actually bold enough to sneak into Dragon Valley and steal from the Dragon King!?” Po Kong’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Dragon Valley had been regarded as a forbidden land by humans since ancient times. Even among Saint Rank experts, very few had truly ventured deep into it. It was like a mysterious veil that had never been lifted, always shrouded in a layer of mystery.
“After all, it’s common knowledge that the Dragon Race loves treasure. It’s not impossible for some people to take risks for the sake of profit... But what kind of treasure could it be to make someone as powerful as Dragon King Seranox so agitated, even coming to the Spiritual Arts Academy to confront the principal?”
Moen glanced at the distant sky and began to analyze in a low voice.
Indeed, the Dragon King’s abnormal behavior seemed somewhat illogical, but they had no way of knowing the specific details now.
What Starlight was more concerned about was the other piece of information Xia Duo mentioned—the intruders who broke into Dragon Valley involved a collaboration between humans and the elf race. Combined with the intelligence that came from the Crimson City-State not long ago, could this really be just a coincidence?
“Forget it, let’s not overthink it. The severity of what just happened is far beyond the level we can reach. We should leave it to Uncle Evan and Grandmaster to handle.” Ultimately, Starlight sighed and shook his head helplessly.
Starlight’s words pulled the three of them back from their respective thoughts. Although they had heard a very secret piece of intelligence from the dragons, continuing to dwell on it wouldn't be of any use.
Now they could only place their hopes on Mowei and Eventador, hoping they could resolve this storm peacefully. As for the four of them, it was time to embark on their journey to Star-Song Forest.
“Starlight is right. Our priority now is to hurry back. It looks like the principal and the others won't be back for a while. Let’s set out!”
After hearing their analysis, Xia Duo also set aside the doubts in her heart. She knew there was a more important mission waiting for them.
And so, the four of them left without hesitation, departing the academy and heading toward the homeland of the elves, Star-Song Forest, located in the southwest of the continent.
