Chapter 249 · Volume 1

Seranox, the Dragon King

This magic formation was composed of countless runes and lines. They flickered and intertwined in the air, as if pulling the entire starry sky into the academy, like a beautiful scroll.
As the formation gradually manifested, the entire academy was enveloped in a layer of transparent light. This light shield was incredibly tough, like a giant eggshell, isolating the academy from the outside world.
Starlight took one look and felt the terrifying nature of this magic formation.
It was not a single spell, but countless magics perfectly converging into a flawless closed loop, providing the academy with indestructible protection.
The abundant elements within the academy began to surge the moment the formation was activated. About half of them were drawn away like a tide, frantically pouring into the formation foundations located beneath each building. They converged and transformed within the foundations, providing a continuous stream of energy for the formation.
It was not until the formation was fully formed that the terrifying dragon pressure in the sky was completely blocked out. Many who had never seen such a scene were pale with fear, some even falling to the ground as their legs gave out.
They had never imagined they would one day witness such a terrifying sight with their own eyes.
“Damn it! Why is that old dragon Seranox coming here to cause trouble now? Hasn't everything been fine all these years?” After activating the formation, Eventador looked out the window at the gold-and-red dragon with a grim expression.
His eyes were full of anger, but he also knew that the most important thing now was to protect the safety of the academy and its students.
“Little Star, you all stay inside and don't run around. I'll go deal with this and be back soon.” There was a hint of unquestionable determination in Eventador's voice.
Before his voice had even faded, his figure vanished from the office and reappeared in mid-air, facing the giant dragon across the barrier.
“Seranox! What exactly do you want? We don't seem to have any grudge against you, do we?” Eventador floated in mid-air, his body tightly wrapped in a mana halo, as he questioned Seranox loudly from beyond the barrier.
However, the dragon's response was a sky-blotting dragon breath of intense flames. The fire was like a raging inferno, twisting the air outside the barrier as if it were about to ignite.
When the dragon breath collided with the barrier, the light of fire and magic intertwined. The two powerful forces clashed fiercely, neutralizing each other and emitting a deafening crackling sound, as if the entire world were being torn apart.
As the collision intensified, the light on the formation grew more dazzling, like brilliant stars illuminating the entire world.
Despite the ferocity of the dragon breath, the academy's giant formation remained as steady as a mountain, completely unharmed.
However, Starlight keenly noticed that the elements contained in the air inside the barrier had quietly decreased by a fraction.
“Can I take your actions as a provocation? If you don't give me a reasonable explanation today, this matter will not end easily!” Eventador's face was solemn. With a wave of his hand, a crystal-clear staff appeared before him.
Majestic mana surged out of his body. Amplified by the staff, it transformed into two invisible spatial blades that sliced through the scorching air, accurately landing on the gold-and-red scales of Seranox's chest.
Although Seranox's scales were indestructible, they lasted less than a breath under the cutting of the two spatial blades before being sliced open into two wounds several meters long.
In pain, Seranox had to retreat dozens of meters. It flipped in the air and used its wings to shatter the two pursuing spatial blades.
Faced with this situation, Eventador did not take the opportunity to pursue. He knew deep down that he was only using the barrier's defense to deal with the dragon. If he rashly rushed out of the barrier, the situation might immediately reverse.
In fact, these two wounds, which seemed massive to humans, were only minor superficial injuries to the hundred-meter-long dragon Seranox.
Under Seranox's mental control, the seemingly horrific wounds were quickly squeezed shut by muscles and began to heal rapidly. Not even much blood flowed out.
A hundred meters away, the giant dragon stared fixedly at the castle. Its eyes were like burning fireballs, flickering with sharp and deep light.
An ancient and obscure low roar came from its giant mouth, echoing between heaven and earth, filled with majesty and power.
Inside the room, Xia Duo's face changed drastically upon hearing the sound. She quickly pushed open the window and shouted anxiously to Eventador in the sky: “It wants to use Dragon Tongue Magic! Principal, be careful!”
Although Eventador could not understand the specific content of the dragon's chant, he could feel from Seranox's movements and demeanor that this was no simple spell.
Knowing this was a powerful magic that even someone as strong as the Dragon King Seranox needed time to chant, Eventador did not dare to be careless.
He quickly drew a brilliant hexagram pattern in front of him with his staff, accompanied by a low and powerful incantation: “Intangible Shield, Void Severance!”
Just as the words fell, several layers of triangular spatial barriers appeared outside the main barrier. They rotated constantly like indestructible shields, blocking the path between the dragon and the barrier.
At the same time Eventador cast his magic, Seranox almost simultaneously completed its own spell.
Its two front limbs suddenly became as dazzling as the sun. Golden light burst from the tips of its claws, as if its front claws had instantly doubled in size.
Then, the dragon's wings flapped violently, creating a powerful air current that swept forward like a hurricane.
With a thunderous boom, the air around Seranox was instantly torn apart. Its body charged toward the defenses Eventador had set up at a terrifying speed.
The two golden claws were like sharp daggers, carrying indestructible power as they slammed directly into Void Severance.
The seemingly unbreakable layers of spatial barriers did not even last a second under the golden light before turning into fragments, shining like a brilliant meteor shower in the sky.
After shattering Void Severance, Seranox's massive form did not slow down at all. Its golden claws struck the barrier above the academy heavily in the next instant.
A piercing grinding sound came from the point of impact. Accompanied by this tooth-aching sound, people were horrified to find that the indestructible barrier actually developed a shocking crack after holding on for a few seconds.
“Crack!”
A crisp and loud sound, like a heavy hammer striking everyone's heart, made their nerves tremble.
Where the dragon attacked, the academy's barrier had already been torn open with a shocking gap. The golden dragon claws, flashing with dazzling light, had already silently reached into the interior of the barrier.
The sharp golden light was only a few meters away from Eventador's body, as if it could swallow him at any moment.
Even Starlight and the others watching from the castle couldn't help but break into a cold sweat for Eventador, too nervous to even breathe.
“Are you crazy!?” Seeing the dragon so recklessly piercing a large hole in the barrier the academy took pride in, Eventador couldn't help but roar in anger.
Just as he was about to cast the next spell to attack Seranox, who was stuck by the barrier, Mowei, who had been silently watching from the window, suddenly took a step forward.
In Starlight's eyes, the old man simply took a casual step, but his figure vanished like a ghost and instantly appeared beside Eventador.
The two massive dragon claws that had been unstoppable now seemed to be gripped by a giant invisible hand. They began to slowly retreat, eventually being forced back to the outside of the barrier.
The moment the dragon claws were completely forced out, the cracked barrier also began to recover at an incredible speed under everyone's shocked gazes.
Before long, it returned to its original state—flawless and indestructible.
“Teacher... thank you. Shall we counterattack?” Eventador exhaled a long breath and looked solemnly at Mowei beside him. Mana had already secretly gathered in his palm under his robes, ready to launch an attack at any time.
