While Ningcheng was still shrouded in night, the sun had already risen on Goro Island on the other side of the planet.
At the airport of the most bustling city, Zenei City.
“It's been a long time since I was back,” said Jiang Nan, who was dressed in a black short-sleeved shirt and trousers.
She looked at the flowing crowd around them, an exaggerated expression on her face.
Ahead of them, Buck, wearing sunglasses and gloves, looked toward the airport entrance. “It seems someone is still thinking of us. Dying to see us, even.”
Tang Yongyun stood there quietly.
At the entrance, a group of burly men in black suits was walking quickly toward them.
“Get lost, don't block the way!” barked the leader, a 1.9-meter-tall white man. He had an arrogant look on his face, cursing at passersby before they could even get close.
Seeing their strength in numbers and their fierce, scarred faces, the surrounding passersby quickly paled and kept their distance.
Tang Yongyun looked at him with a gloomy gaze. This was the biological son of Marcus, the largest director of the Scott Syndicate, who had always been at odds with him.
Upon seeing Tang Yongyun, the white man's face broke into a smile. He spread his arms and said loudly, “Tang! I've missed you to death! You have no idea how miserable my days were without you here.”
As he spoke, he stepped forward to embrace Tang Yongyun, but before he could get close, a fair-skinned hand slipped between them.
Jiang Nan smiled sweetly and said, “Mr. Kit, my boss just got off the plane and is feeling a bit airsick. You smell far too foul, so please keep your distance so you don't make him throw up.”
Kit's smile froze. He stared at Jiang Nan, his face twitching. “A mere bodyguard dares to speak to me like that? Are you looking to die?”
With that, he raised his hand to slap her.
Just then, Tang Yongyun suddenly spoke up. “Kit, I don't have time to play house with you right now. Your father is waiting for me.”
As he spoke, Buck's eyes locked onto Kit. If the man dared to proceed, he wouldn't mind killing him right here at the airport.
Hearing this, Kit lowered his hand. Suppressing his anger, he forced a smile. “Indeed, we mustn't delay my father's business. Let's go.”
As he spoke, several black SUVs pulled up behind him.
With a sharp glare at Jiang Nan, he turned and got into one of the vehicles.
Once Tang Yongyun transferred his shares, he would have plenty of ways to deal with Jiang Nan.
Everyone got into the cars, and the convoy drove toward the castle in the city center.
The white castle in the city center.
On the second floor, there was a circular conference hall with a five-meter-long brown round table in the middle.
Marcus sat at the head of the table, with an elderly man seated on his left and right.
The old man on the left wore a tall black hat, the wrinkles on his face resembling old tree bark.
He frowned slightly. “Marcus, I can't help but feel that Tang's return to hand over his shares is far too strange. Especially since he's coming back from Ningcheng in the Nanming Kingdom.”
“Jero, you're getting more cowardly as you age. A mere youngster is enough to make you worry like this?” Before Marcus could speak, a brown-haired old man in a striped gray suit sitting opposite him scoffed.
Jero sighed and looked at the silent Marcus, choosing not to say anything more.
For people of their level, the events in the Nanming Kingdom had long ceased to be a secret.
It had even caught the attention of other international factions, and several nations had already dispatched agents to investigate the situation there.
Outside, the convoy drove into the city center. When they reached the centralmost street...
Armed personnel in body armor and gray camouflage appeared ahead, blockading the intersection.
Seeing the convoy arrive, they immediately cleared the way.
Inside the car, Buck looked at the armed personnel and sneered. “Those old geezers sure are cautious, deploying this many people.”
As he spoke, the vehicle came to a stop in front of a white castle.
At the entrance of the white castle, over a hundred guards carrying rifles stood watch.
Kit got out of his car, glanced at the vehicle carrying Tang Yongyun and the other two, and walked straight into the castle.
“Let's go. The more people they have, the better. It saves us the trouble of chasing down runners later.” Tang Yongyun didn't even spare a glance at the guards as he got out and led the two toward the castle.
Following Kit to the second floor, bodyguards stood every meter along both sides of the corridor leading to the conference hall.
Each of them held a gun. With the shares about to change hands, Marcus did not want any accidents to happen.
The moment Tang Yongyun and his group appeared, all the bodyguards turned their heads, staring fiercely at them.
Seeing this, Jiang Nan immediately chimed in, “My, what an exaggerated lineup. Our boss is only here to sell some shares, but anyone who didn't know better would think you were preparing a trap.”
Walking in front, veins popped on Kit's forehead. This bitch was constantly making trouble; he felt his patience reaching its absolute limit.
Tang Yongyun ignored the bodyguards, a strange expression on his face. “Jiang Nan, quiet down. If outsiders see this, they might think there's discord within our syndicate.”
Listening to their sarcastic banter, Kit's gaze grew cold. What a piece of trash. If my father hadn't spared your life a bit longer because you knew your place, I would have chopped you up and fed you to the dogs long ago.
Tang Yongyun paid no attention to what Kit was thinking. He raised his hands slightly, and a black energy invisible to outsiders manifested over them.
In his vision, the black threads hovering above the heads of the bodyguards on both sides merged with his black energy, rapidly thickening.
Knock, knock, knock!
Kit arrived at a double wooden door and knocked. “Father, they're here!”
“Come in!” Marcus's voice echoed from within.
Creak!
The wooden door opened, and Kit strode inside.
Tang Yongyun took in the scene. Three old men sat in the center, surrounded by dozens of bodyguards.
He walked inside, but as Buck and Jiang Nan tried to follow...
“This is a high-level meeting. Unrelated personnel are not allowed to enter,” said the two bodyguards standing at the door, reaching out to block them.
Seeing this, Tang Yongyun stopped and pointed inside. “Are they high-level executives too?”
He was pointing at the bodyguards standing on both sides of the conference table.
Sitting at the head of the table, Marcus spoke up again. “Let them in!”
Hearing the command, the bodyguards immediately let the two pass.
“Tang, welcome back. When you ran off to who-knows-where, we, your elders, were quite worried about you. After all, the world out there is chaotic. It wouldn't be good if something happened to you.”
Though Marcus spoke these words, his gaze toward Tang Yongyun was filled with disdain.
Tang Yongyun didn't even look at him. Instead, he raised his right hand and pointed them out one by one. “One, two, three, four... Excellent, everyone is here. Kill them all.”
His voice wasn't loud, yet it echoed with absolute clarity in the conference room.
Kit, who was just about to find a seat, doubted his own ears. He turned to look at him in disbelief. “What did you say? Kill them all?”
Bang, bang, bang!
“Hahaha! Tang, did you do too many drugs out there? Has your brain rotted?” The old man in the striped suit slammed the table, unable to hold back his laughter.
Marcus, meanwhile, looked at Tang Yongyun as if he were a complete idiot.
