Chapter 81 · Volume 1

Atlantis (8)

Before even getting close to the shipwreck, Ning Busan caught a whiff of a rich, savory aroma that made his mouth water involuntarily.
Pushing open the iron door to the kitchen, the first thing that greeted his eyes was a pile of tentacles stacked by the entrance, thoughtfully separated into several bundles.
Stepping inside, Ning Busan finally saw the true face of the psychopathic fish-slayer.
His face was plump, with skin as smooth and fine as cream. His figure was well-rounded but not bloated; even as he loomed like a collapsing mountain, he carried himself with an effortless, dashing air.
He was a handsome and elegant... fat man!
At that moment, the man held a silver kitchen knife in his hand. The blade danced nimbly in his grip, slicing the ingredients on the cutting board into uniform, thin pieces.
Indeed, the ingredients on the cutting board were none other than Echidna’s tentacles!
Only after he finished slicing did he look up at the three uninvited guests.
The fat man stared at Ning Busan’s face for a moment before his gaze drifted down to Ning Busan’s fish tail, and he fell into deep thought.
He has the brand of Hell, and his aura is correct. He is definitely the King!
But why has the King turned into seafood?
Ning Busan also recognized who this fat man was.
Beelzebub, the Demon King of Gluttony—he was actually the psychopathic fish-slayer!
Beelzebub gazed at Ning Busan, condensing a thousand words into a single sentence: “Have you eaten?”
Ning Busan: “...”
Beside Beelzebub stood a massive copper pot. Inside, a thick broth bubbled, with various rare ingredients tumbling within the liquid.
To be honest, Ning Busan hadn't been hungry, but after smelling that fragrance, his mouth suddenly felt a bit lonely.
However, Ning Busan didn't forget his purpose. “Why did you chop off Echidna’s tentacles?”
“Because I needed ingredients for cooking,” Beelzebub complained. “Trading with those deep-sea monsters is such a hassle; they’re all so stingy. I’m not even asking for their lives, just a few organs, yet they’re unwilling to give them to me.”
“Later, I finally understood a truth: why bother trading when you can just take it for free?”
Echidna was so furious he was nearly spitting blood. “Is that your reason for chopping my tentacles twice? Ninety-nine tentacles, and you didn't leave me a single one!”
Beelzebub defended himself, “But I left you a head. Isn't that enough?”
Echidna snapped, “You clearly just wanted to wait for my tentacles to grow back so you could keep harvesting me!”
“If I’d known you were one of our own, I certainly would have chosen a different target.” Beelzebub wiped his kitchen knife. “But since it’s already happened, little octopus, you’re not actually thinking of seeking revenge, are you?”
If the King hadn't been watching from the side, he would have long since carved this octopus head into pieces.
Such a noisy piece of seafood!
Ning Busan said to Beelzebub, “I’m taking the remaining tentacles to reattach them for him. Don't cause him any more trouble in the future.”
“Whatever you say.” Beelzebub dropped the sliced ingredients into the copper pot and gently stirred the broth with a long-handled wooden spoon, a faint smile appearing on his lips. “Little octopus, as compensation, why don't you stay and taste my cooking?”
Echidna looked at Ning Busan with an expression of profound grief and indignation, silently condemning his lack of loyalty.
A psychopathic fish-slayer is an enemy to all fish-kind!
Who was the one who said that?
How did he suddenly switch sides?
Don't think he couldn't tell—these two must have known each other for a long time!
Ning Busan patted Echidna’s head. “Trust me, once you taste his food, you’ll definitely forgive him no matter what he did to you.”
Echidna thought: Like hell I will!
In the dining room stood a massive table laden with all sorts of delicacies.
After Beelzebub brought out the final dish, his eyes sparkled with anticipation. “Hurry, try it!”
Ning Busan and Lilian began to devour the food with elegant speed.
Only Echidna didn't move.
Beelzebub asked with a beaming smile, “Why aren't you eating?”
Echidna was on the verge of a breakdown. “What do you want me to eat?!”
Stir-fried octopus, braised octopus, steamed octopus, sweet and sour octopus, spicy octopus...
The entire table was made of his tentacles!
Was he supposed to perform an act of self-cannibalism?
How twisted!
“No one can refuse me, not even a fish!”
Beelzebub directly picked up a mouthful of food with his chopsticks and stuffed it into Echidna’s mouth.
Caught off guard, Echidna took a chew.
Hm?
His taste buds suddenly woke up, and Echidna’s eyes instantly lit up.
He suddenly felt that he could forgive the entire world.
It’s so tender~
Seeing the food on the table being swept clean, Beelzebub said with pride and intoxication, “Fine food is the ultimate pleasure in this world.”
Ning Busan wiped his mouth and asked, “How long have you been in the deep sea?”
Beelzebub replied, “At least three thousand years. The seafood here is quite abundant, and I’ve already compiled a complete Seafood Cookbook Encyclopedia.”
Echidna observed a moment of silence for the sea monsters who had fallen victim to his hands.
Ning Busan, however, took a deep breath.
The dignified Demon King of Gluttony had been AWOL for three thousand years, disguised as a sea monster in the deep sea, just to write a cookbook!
How has Lucifer not beaten him to death yet?
Ning Busan looked up and said, “Since you have nothing better to do, come with me to the Realm of Eternal Night.”
One can never have too many helpers, especially one who can both fight and cook.
Beelzebub asked with great interest, “Are you interested in Atlantis too? If the Sea God isn't dead, I wonder what his meat would taste like?”
Echidna and Lilian were both enraged. “How dare you show such disrespect to the Sea God!”
“The Sea God is your faith, not mine.” Beelzebub only had an ultimate pursuit of gourmet food. “In my eyes, the Sea God is nothing more than seafood that can be tossed into a pot.”
Ning Busan shot him a death stare.
Who are you calling seafood?
Beelzebub smiled at Ning Busan. “If there’s an opportunity, I will definitely invite you to have a taste first.”
Ning Busan really wanted to smack him with his tail.
