Chapter 353 · Volume 1

Controlling the Hull

More than half of the tunnels the Zerg had excavated in such a short time collapsed instantly.
The shockwave from the explosion, carrying flames, swept through the tunnels in different directions. Even the Dulu who had fired the micro missile were hit by the violent impact and sent flying.
The individual combat power of these Dulu was mostly between Tier 8 and Tier 10, with the captain being the strongest among them.
From this, it was clear that the individual combat power of a cosmic civilization was not to be underestimated. It was no wonder the Zerg waited until every insect was this powerful before ascending to the sky. Otherwise, they might not even win a ground battle against others.
“Is this a mutually assured destruction tactic?”
Xia Jin, who had detected the exaggerated energy levels underground, was speechless.
The explosive yield was close to 600 tons of TNT. Based on the instantaneous shockwave analysis, an individual neutron bomb had been used.
A large section of the ground collapsed instantly. The Small Leviathan situated above it shook as the area above became filled with dust and smoke.
Because the explosion occurred far enough from the captain and his group, everyone except for the two Tier 8 individuals managed to escape through the rocks blasted open by the explosion.
Most of them were already wounded.
However, as they struggled to scramble out of the ground, they were stunned by the sight before them.
A massive monster stood right in front of them.
Standing at a height of over thirty meters, it swung its heavy, giant scythe blades, smashing the people in the front row into two pieces.
The captain instinctively tried to run, but the ultralisk before him charged. It drove its massive body forward, catching up to him at a speed that surpassed his own, and crushed him into meat paste with a single stomp.
An elf bug fired an arrow, precisely piercing the last survivor. Then, the bugs swarmed forward to collect the corpses for genetic testing.
“It is done.”
At this moment, the crowd on the Dulu starship seemed to have realized something.
The explosion that occurred underground was undoubtedly caused by the neutron bomb.
At the same time, someone saw the image of the ultralisk easily killing the captain and the others through the window glass.
Most terrifyingly, the smart computer suddenly sounded an alarm.
“Warning: External intrusion detected in the Lower Sector of the starship. Combat personnel, please proceed to Section 34 and Section 35 to intercept.”
“Warning: External intrusion detected in the Mid Sector of the starship. Combat personnel, please proceed to Section 12 and Section 13 to intercept.”
...
At the same time, multiple points on the hull suffered intrusions.
There were as many as ten thousand Dulu inside the starship, and about a quarter of them possessed combat capabilities.
That was a combat force of at least 2,500 people.
Although their numbers were significantly higher than the Zerg main force, Xia Jin had actually deployed five brood lords into this battle.
An average of fifty broodlings per minute were being thrown into the fight.
The first wave of the attack was very successful. Because it was a surprise assault, within a short two minutes, the broodlings killed a large number of ordinary crew members who had not even put on their protective suits.
A small number of hydralisks followed behind the units, providing fire support for the broodlings.
In addition, Brain Bug No. 1 dispatched an elite Abyss zergling squad to attack directly from the Mid Sector. They rapidly broke through toward the starship's main control room, attempting to seize those with piloting skills to prevent the ship from taking off.
This action proved to be effective.
The death of the captain had already thrown the personnel in the control room into chaos, but these Dulu managed to make deployments within a few minutes. They restarted the smart computer, preparing to lift the starship off the ground again.
But at that moment, a group of zerglings had already slaughtered their way in.
Just as the engine was being prepared for ignition, a bloodbath ensued within the control room.
Two elf bugs following behind them directly simulated the Dulu language and issued orders to the starship.
“Abort ignition.”
Beep!
“Insufficient permissions. Command failed.”
Brain Bug No. 1 was stunned for a moment, then it unleashed its psionic power in the next second to perform a brute force hack on the equipment.
Ten seconds later, just as the fusion engine was about to complete its ignition, the smart computer was finally controlled by Brain Bug No. 1, and the fusion startup was forcibly halted.
This group of bugs now guarded the control room. Any Dulu who rushed in would face ruthless slaughter.
Meanwhile, the elf bugs began to query data on the Dulu Civilization through the smart computer.
...
Elsewhere on the hull, relying on the continuous stream of broodlings from the brood lords, the Zerg began a persistent assault on various cabins and corridors within the starship.
The battle was extremely fierce. Inside this 500 meter long giant starship, every broodling turned into a god of slaughter, crushing the Dulu all along the way.
Occasionally, Tier 9 and Tier 10 Dulu appeared, but they were met with ruthless attacks from the hydralisks behind, getting killed instantly.
