Looking down at the earth from the sky, one could see scattered Zerg swarms running through most of the small towns north of Duoye.
Most zergling squads consisted of only two or three individuals, and a single squad was generally enough to easily wipe out the resistance forces in several villages.
However, in this small town closest to the city, the zergling squads encountered their most formidable counterattack.
Four zerglings in a row were struck by powerful attacks from local experts and ultimately lost their lives.
The two warriors who had killed the insects were currently brimming with excitement, casting disdainful glances at the surrendering Leopard.
They hadn't expected that after his failure in love, this guy would lose all his backbone and actually surrender to these monsters.
What they also didn't expect was that the terrifying creature seemed to understand human speech; it actually stopped its attack and kept a watchful eye on Leopard.
“Surrendering to a monster? Just wait for your bad luck to catch up with you.”
Seeing two more zerglings running out of the distant woods, one of the stronger Tier 5 warriors immediately charged toward the target.
The reason he was so powerful was primarily because he was a dual practitioner of magic and martial arts.
While he had mastered Tier 5 vitality, he was also a Tier 2 mage.
Knowing that his magical talent would likely never progress further in his lifetime, he chose to specialize in auxiliary magic.
As someone skilled in the fire element, he fused fire magic into his combat techniques, creating powerful magical-physical attacks that were not only incredibly destructive but also carried negative debuffs like intense heat and fatigue.
Because of this, even a Tier 6 expert could end up wounded if they were careless when facing this warrior.
As the zergling approached, before he could even make his move, a “projectile” that was nearly impossible to track with the naked eye suddenly shot in from his front right, slamming violently into his body.
Bang!
After a thunderous explosion, the area was shrouded in rolling clouds of smoke and dust.
Having taken a heavy blow to the abdomen, the man still vomited a mouthful of blood and stumbled back several steps before collapsing to the ground, even though he had instinctively released all his vitality and magical power to defend himself.
The destructive power was absolutely horrifying.
If it had hit an ordinary wooden house, it could have collapsed the entire building instantly.
Of course, if it were iron armor that wasn't of a certain thickness, it would also be easily penetrated.
At the very least, the leather armor on his body was completely shredded.
Lying on the ground and rolling twice, the man's head was buzzing.
But he quickly regained his senses and hurriedly looked down to check his abdomen.
Blood was flowing uncontrollably.
Fortunately, the wound was only on the surface and hadn't reached his internal organs.
But...
The sheer power of such an attack still left him feeling terrified.
Where did that attack come from?
He scrambled to his feet, staring vigilantly in the direction the attack had come from.
However, he could see nothing in his line of sight.
Glancing down at his belly, the flesh there seemed to be affected by something strange, turning a shade of pitch black.
He endured the pain and touched it, pulling away a strand of decaying flesh.
He had been poisoned!
His head was also starting to feel dizzy without him even realizing it.
Damn it!
A moment later, another projectile came flying through the air.
Bang!
This time, the projectile hit him squarely in the chest. His ability to resist had already significantly weakened.
The massive force propelled him over ten meters through the air until he slammed into the wall behind him.
Looking down, a bone needle thirty to forty centimeters long was lodged in his chest.
His lung had been pierced.
Attempting to take a breath, the agonizing pain made it impossible for him to exert any force.
“D—Damn it.”
From beginning to end, he hadn't even seen what the enemy looked like.
More and more zerglings were entering the town.
They were all drawn here by the presence of the hidden experts within this town.
In fact, the moment those experts made their move, it became impossible for this town to escape the focused attention of the Swarm.
That was when specialized hydralisks began providing fire support from a distance.
Lying on the ground, not yet having lost consciousness, the man watched with his own eyes as his brother was also pierced by a similar bone spine.
That guy was even unluckier; he was hit right in his “second brother.”
His lineage was ended right then and there.
The zerglings following behind took advantage of his screams of agony to rush up and kill him.
In this wave, the insects encountered fierce resistance in this town, with at least twenty people drawing weapons to fight them.
Initially, most of the adventurers were quite confident, thinking they were only facing a few stray wild magic beasts.
But as more and more of the swarm entered, everyone suddenly realized that they were in deep trouble.
After a brief battle, all the companions in the man's line of sight had been killed.
He felt his breathing coming to a near standstill. Even though he endured the pain to force air in, his lung function had been severely compromised.
He knew he was about to die.
In his final moments, he saw a young girl approaching while riding a zergling.
The girl hopped lightly to the ground and walked over to the surrendering Leopard.
“You're the fastest to surrender I've ever seen.”
Leopard: “...”
Leopard, who had long ago lost his will to live, suddenly felt a bit dazed as he looked at the beautiful girl before him.
