Zuo Lin'an saw they had arrived, so he abandoned his previous thoughts.
Zhou Hang walked toward a house in front, and Zuo Lin'an followed suit.
Zhou Hang unlocked and opened the door, then turned around to block Zuo Lin'an from entering.
“Wait outside for a bit, little brother. I'll be right out.”
Zuo Lin'an paused, seemingly hesitating. In reality, his eyes swept past Zhou Hang into the house. Sensing no other movement inside, he nodded.
“Alright, hurry up then.”
Zhou Hang breathed a sigh of relief. “Don't worry, I'll be quick...”
He spoke as he began to close the door.
Just as the door was about to shut, Zhou Hang clearly let his guard down and even turned his back.
This was the exact opportunity Zuo Lin'an had been waiting for.
Before Zhou Hang could react, Zuo Lin'an slammed his body against the door. Unprepared for such an action, Zhou Hang was struck hard by the door panel and crashed heavily onto the floor.
“Ow!”
He cried out in pain, about to demand what Zuo Lin'an was doing, but the young man had already stepped inside and casually closed the door behind him.
At this sight, Zhou Hang went pale with fright.
“You!”
“What do you think you're doing?!”
Zuo Lin'an curled his lips. “What am I doing? I just want to see what kind of good stuff you have here. My buddy and I just arrived, and we have absolutely nothing. We could really use some help from others.”
How could Zhou Hang not understand? This little thief was here to rob him!
Dammit.
He had been too careless.
Almost everyone sent to Sin Hunter City was an atrocious piece of scum.
These two were newcomers, meaning they hadn't yet been beaten down by the savage, primitive lifestyle of Sin Hunter City. They were at their most arrogant.
He also blamed himself. The moment he saw newcomers, all he could think about was trading for new clothes. Having lived here for so long, his vigilance had slipped. If he had known, he would have brought a few people along with him.
“This is Wang Hu's territory. Robbing each other is not allowed here.”
Zuo Lin'an didn't care in the slightest.
“It's fine. My buddy hit it off with Brother Tiger right away. Their relationship is probably better than ours now, so I'm not worried at all.”
Zuo Lin'an looked around and noticed there were quite a lot of things piled up in the house.
He would take a bit more back with him later.
Or maybe they should just move in here? It was much cleaner.
Regardless, he and Xu Youyou wouldn't be staying here for long anyway.
Maybe a few days?
Once they had killed enough people, they would leave.
“Actually, never mind...”
This was someone else's residence after all. Who knew if there were any traps? It was better to be safe.
After confirming there wasn't a third person in the house, Zuo Lin'an finally revealed his true colors.
“There's actually a basement here. Not bad, as expected of a villa.”
By now, he had subdued Zhou Hang and forced him down into the basement.
Zhou Hang also knew that killing was not allowed in Sin Hunter City, which was why he hadn't fought Zuo Lin'an to the death outside.
He had assumed Zuo Lin'an merely wanted to lock him in the basement and plunder his belongings. He never expected that Zuo Lin'an wanted not just his resources, but his life.
Zhou Hang only realized this when Zuo Lin'an pulled out his boning knife.
“A knife?”
One look was enough to tell it had been brought in from the outside.
But criminals like them underwent multiple searches before entering Sin Hunter City, and they were only allowed to wear prison uniforms. It was absolutely impossible to bring a knife inside.
Could it have been found inside Sin Hunter City?
Impossible!
Sin Hunter City couldn't possibly have such a knife, or at least, not one so brand new!
Plus, these two were newcomers, which meant...
“You're a student!”
Hearing Zhou Hang's words, Zuo Lin'an was somewhat surprised.
“I heard from my instructor before that a small fraction of the criminals in Sin Hunter City know that students come here to hunt them down every once in a while.”
“I didn't think I'd run into one so easily, but to my surprise, I've encountered one in less than a day since entering the city.”
“I don't know if it's my good luck or your bad luck.”
Zuo Lin'an glanced at the time again. After talking nonsense for so long, it was finally time to begin.
Wasting no more time, he lunged forward with the knife while Zhou Hang was still off-guard.
Relying on his agility and youthful strength, he quickly subdued the man and began carrying out his method of execution.
It had to be said that the basement's soundproofing was quite good.
Not a single sound leaked out.
But even if it did, it wouldn't matter.
There was no one else living nearby, and normally no one came around.
Zuo Lin'an had to thank Zhou Hang for picking such a wonderful spot.
A few minutes later, he walked slowly out of the basement, grabbing a bag of rice from the kitchen along with some other daily necessities.
This way, if anyone saw him, he could just say he was returning from a trade, avoiding any suspicion.
Of course, he quickened his pace on the way back.
Even so, by the time he returned to the original villa, it was already twenty minutes past nine.
There were only forty minutes left until the next move.
By now, Xu Youyou had already returned.
He had done some light cleaning, set up a table and chairs, and placed all their belongings on the table—even retrieving the backpack Zuo Lin'an had hidden earlier.
Upon noticing Zuo Lin'an's return, Xu Youyou began to speak, almost as if to himself:
“Who knew that Brother Tiger actually had some martial arts training? He was quite skilled. It took some effort to deal with him, but fortunately, I was stronger.”
“I found this map in his house. It's a great find. It marks the locations of everyone's residences in this settlement.”
“He spent several days drawing it. After all, as the boss here, he had to notify everyone whenever there was a group activity.”
“Because everyone lives so far apart, he needed to draw a dedicated map.”
“Hehe, this really played right into my hands.”
“I even went out of my way to copy an identical one. It's perfect!”
With that, he casually laid the two maps on the table, then stood up and walked over to Zuo Lin'an. He picked up the heavy bag of rice and other supplies from the floor and carried them to the kitchen.
After putting the things away, he grabbed a broom—likely swiped from Wang Hu's house—and resumed sweeping the room.
Zuo Lin'an walked over to the table and examined the maps.
The maps were drawn in great detail, clearly marking everyone's residences, relative distances, and so on.
This was exactly what he needed most, especially since his time was tight.
Zuo Lin'an quickly noticed that one of the residences on the map had been crossed out with an X.
With a bit of thought, he realized that was Wang Hu's residence, and the man had already been killed by Xu Youyou.
