On the way back to the dormitory from the academic building, Zuo Lin'an saw many dark shadows flying overhead. None of them seemed to care about the rule 【Obeying School Rules】.
Of course, it could also be because they all knew they had already violated the school rules, which was why they were acting so brazenly.
Zuo Lin'an and Xu Youyou strolled leisurely back to the dormitory.
They were currently acting as ordinary students, so they walked at a normal pace. Although they saw many players glaring and scowling at them along the way, fortunately, none of them actually made a move.
When they opened the door and stepped into their dorm room, they found that the other six roommates had already returned.
Surprisingly, they were all sitting quietly on their respective beds.
Zuo Lin'an glanced around. These six people were completely unfamiliar; he didn't recognize a single one, and none of them were from Class One. It seemed the dorm assignments were not based on classes.
Hearing the door open, the six of them turned to look. Their eyes held wariness, a subtle trace of anger, and even a hint of murderous intent.
The two of them could easily sense these negative emotions.
Yet, not a single person spoke.
Naturally, neither Zuo Lin'an nor Xu Youyou had any desire to force a conversation where they weren't wanted. If they didn't want to talk, so be it.
Zuo Lin'an casually tossed his backpack onto his bed. There was nothing inside but a single gold hairpin. Since he couldn't very well carry it back in his bare hand, he had no choice but to bring the backpack along.
Since it only contained a gold hairpin, the backpack looked practically empty. Combined with his casual attitude, no one would suspect that there was anything valuable inside.
If he had acted secretive or shifty, it would have drawn the players' attention instead.
He grabbed a set of pajamas from his wardrobe and headed straight for the bathroom to take a shower.
Right then, his footsteps paused.
Why did it feel like something was missing?
Just then, a sudden clamor erupted from outside the dorm room.
Xu Youyou immediately went to open the door and leaned out to check. Curiously, Zuo Lin'an followed him out.
“What's going on?”
He saw a large crowd of players gathering in the corridor.
Xu Youyou shook his head. “How should I know? Want to go take a look?”
Just as Zuo Lin'an was about to nod, he heard someone shouting angrily in the distance, demanding answers.
“Who was it?!”
“Who the hell did this?! Get out here right now, or I'll break your legs!”
“Dammit! Some wretched thief took advantage of our absence and stole our school uniforms!”
“It's not just you. The same thing happened to me.”
“My wardrobe was also ransacked. My spare school uniform is indeed gone.”
Every student received two school uniforms upon entering the dungeon. One was worn on their person, while the other was kept in their suitcase as a spare.
For everyone who had previously visited their dorms and left their clothes there, without exception, their spare uniforms had vanished.
The only exceptions were those who had lugged their entire suitcases with them to the academic building.
Only now did Zuo Lin'an realize what had felt off when he was grabbing his pajamas earlier. His school uniforms were gone!
What was worse, both of his uniforms were missing!
But to an NPC like him, this wasn't a major issue. He could just wear his own clothes.
But what about the players who had lost their uniforms? Didn't that mean they would have no spare clothes to change into for the next six days?
Unlike NPCs, players only had those two school uniforms.
Zuo Lin'an pretended to just realize this. He anxiously spun around, rushed to his wardrobe, and checked inside. Then, he called out to Xu Youyou, who was still standing at the door.
“Hurry back and check!”
Xu Youyou turned around. “Alright, coming.”
After checking, he also shrugged at Zuo Lin'an.
“My school uniforms are gone too. Since we changed out of our uniforms before going to evening self-study, both of mine are gone as well.”
The other six players sitting on their beds also got down to check. Once they confirmed that their spare uniforms were missing, their expressions turned incredibly grim.
Without saying a word, they exchanged silent glances. Within two minutes, they left the dorm room one after another.
Zuo Lin'an blinked and whispered, “What do you think they're doing?”
Xu Youyou locked his hands behind his head and strolled casually to the doorway, looking eager for some entertainment.
“Who knows? Maybe they're going to snatch some?”
Zuo Lin'an's lips twitched. At this point, most players only had the single uniform they were currently wearing. If even that got stolen, what would they wear for the next few days?
Go to class naked?
Besides, he already knew who the culprit was.
Earlier during evening self-study, not long after the homeroom teacher finished speaking and left, this guy had sneaked out of the classroom. It wasn't until the end of study hall that Zuo Lin'an saw Xu Youyou waiting outside.
He had wondered what the guy was up to back then. It turned out he had run back to the dormitory building to steal school uniforms!
Zuo Lin'an suddenly thought of something and asked cryptically,
“The boys' dorm is in such an uproar. I wonder what the situation is like over at the girls' dorm.”
So, did Xu Youyou go to the girls' dorm too?
Watching the chaos outside grow more intense, Xu Youyou let out a soft whistle. “Who can say for sure? I'm not omniscient.”
Seeing his smug, cheeky expression, Zuo Lin'an sighed softly.
“Something probably happened there too, right?”
Xu Youyou turned to him with a grin. “Maybe. The girls' dorms must have been empty too. Maybe the uniform thief was fair and equal-opportunity?”
“It's not like they were stealing underwear or doing something perverted. They just found the school uniforms and took them.”
Zuo Lin'an curled his lips. “Impressive. I bet no one has ever thought of this method before.”
He had to admit, it was absolutely brilliant.
“With a thousand people in total, all living in eight-person dorms...”
“That's over a hundred and twenty dorm rooms. That thief sure was fast. And where on earth did they hide so many uniforms?”
No sooner had Zuo Lin'an's voice fallen than a series of painful cries and screams echoed from outside, along with the sound of tearing fabric.
Soon, pleading voices could be heard as well.
“Please, spare me, kind sir! Have mercy and do not steal my clothes!”
“Let me go, let me go! I don't have any spares...”
“What an outrage! What utter outrage! This is vulgar and unacceptable! It truly infuriates me!!”
“You shameless thief, trying to rob me? You've got some nerve! Take my Tiger Fist!”
This was immediately followed by a scream and the silhouette of a body flying backward through the air.
The two of them stood by the door, enjoying the show.
Honestly, watching the chaotic mess was actually quite entertaining.
Seeing others snatching uniforms, those who had been hesitating on the sidelines quickly joined in. Before long, the number of people fighting over uniforms multiplied.
They were roughly divided into two factions.
Those trying to steal, and those trying to defend.
Only NPCs like them stood on the side, watching the spectacle.
None of the players dared to steal an NPC's clothes. They were confident they could snatch some garments, but who knew what would happen once they actually put them on?
