Chapter 74 · Volume 1

Tsk, Still a Baby

Chi Yuan naturally knew what “brown sugar buns” referred to.
For a moment, she was both angry and amused, feeling ashamed and annoyed at whether she had been too indulgent on normal days, spoiling this little scoundrel to the point where her mouth was full of nonsense, even daring to blurt out such suggestive words.
She was always testing her limits. Touching her earlobe today, biting her collarbone tomorrow, and changing to a new trick the day after, pressing closer step by step and taking a yard after being given an inch.
Chi Yuan really wanted to press her over her knees and teach her a few more lessons.
Having said this, Shen Qingci had long expected her senior sister to get annoyed. She looked at Chi Yuan with watery puppy eyes, putting on a full display of begging for mercy.
It didn't matter if she was punished a few times by her own wife; it was just marital fun after all.
“Senior Sister... A-Yuan... Wife...” she called out in a soft, sweet voice.
“A-Ci, I must have owed you in our past life to make you anger me so much in this one,” Chi Yuan said.
Shen Qingci pursed her lips and smiled. “It must be so. I also feel like I've been spoiled rotten by Senior Sister.”
“But Shen Qingci is greedy. Having obtained one part, I want ten. I wish I could rub Senior Sister into my bones and flesh, melting us into one.”
Chi Yuan looked at her expression. It did not seem like a joke, yet she wasn't surprised either.
She had long detected hints of the paranoia and possessiveness her junior sister occasionally revealed.
This person was deliberately showing it to her, wrapped in the shell of acting spoiled, lifting a corner of the side she was most unwilling to show anyone to test if she would pull away and leave.
Chi Yuan had never thought of leaving.
She only felt that this little foe carried calculation even when showing weakness, yet she herself was willing to jump into the trap every single time.
“Speak, what do you really want tonight?” Chi Yuan asked.
Shen Qingci's eyes lit up instantly. “Kisses, hugs, being lifted high up, and a bun combo meal. Will Senior Sister give it to me?”
A mock-reproachful look rippled in Chi Yuan's eyes. After a brief silence, she ultimately yielded to a certain Shen's wishes and leaned down closer...
Shen Qingci did not dodge. Her breath caught slightly. Originally, she had only wanted to ask for a comforting hug, rub against her a couple of times, and at most get a “light peck on the corner of the lips.”
But the angle of her senior sister's approach was clearly wrong!
Warm breath swept across her nose, and those lips stopped at a distance that was neither too close nor too far, giving a certain someone plenty of room to take the initiative.
Shen Qingci simply summoned her courage and pressed forward to kiss her.
At first, it was just a shallow press of lips, rubbing against each other... As the warm, soft sensation flooded her divine sense, Shen Qingci's breath suddenly hitched, and a fine, tingling itch crawled across her skin.
Before she could even register the taste, her senior sister had already pulled back, creating a tiny gap of half an inch, her gaze falling upon her face.
“A-Ci~”
Just such a shallow kiss, yet it coaxed a tremor from the depths of her heart.
Shen Qingci's heart burned. Hooking her arm around her senior sister's nape, she pulled her forward, forcefully pressing her back against her lips.
This time, it was no longer just a superficial taste!!!
Her palm slid up her senior sister's waist, her fingertips touching a patch of soft flesh through the thin inner robe.
She gave it a gentle squeeze.
Mmh, it was the brown sugar bun combo meal she had been yearning for.
Shen Qingci was unwilling to move away, burying herself in her senior sister's chest under the cover of the fabric...
Her heart was burning hot and full of joy. Just as she was about to take another step forward, her wrist was suddenly caught red-handed.
Chi Yuan propped herself up. Their breaths tangled together, utterly disheveled...
Her senior sister's lips glistened with moisture, the backs of her ears completely flushed, yet her expression remained that of her usual cold and self-controlled self.
“Only this far,” her voice carried a slight hoarseness.
Instead of backing down, Shen Qingci used this angle to roll over, pinning her senior sister against the headboard.
She leaned down until their noses almost touched, her tone stubborn. “Since Senior Sister lit the fire, shouldn't Senior Sister be the one to extinguish it?” As she spoke, her right hand still lingered, tracing the contours of that soft flesh.
Chi Yuan raised her hand and lightly patted her shoulder. “Be good. Once you reach Foundation Establishment, alright?”
Shen Qingci's movements paused. She pouted, finally letting her strength fade as she buried her face in her senior sister's neck, muttering gloomily, “Is having an Ice Spiritual Root that amazing...”
Chi Yuan gently patted her back. “Yes, it is amazing.”
Puppy Shen: “...”
Shen Qingci was utterly helpless against her senior sister.
She could only rub her face against her senior sister's neck again and again.
Only now did she realize that her senior sister was so easygoing tonight, letting her kiss her and mess around, mostly because she was entering the Sword Tomb next month and felt reluctant to part in her heart.
But even with that reluctance, she still held onto her boundaries with an iron grip, fearing that giving even a fraction more would delay her cultivation.
This awkward personality was truly cut from the same cloth as their master's.
“Then we must agree on three conditions,” Shen Qingci sat up straight.
“First, once you enter the Sword Tomb, unless you are breaking through, you must think of Shen Qingci every day. Not just a casual thought, but thinking of me seriously, for at least the time it takes an incense stick to burn.”
“Second, you are not allowed to get seriously injured. Bumps and bruises are inevitable when practicing the sword, but if you hurt even a single hair, you must make it up to me with a kiss when you come out. The more injuries, the more make-ups!!!”
Chi Yuan listened quietly.
Shen Qingci raised her third finger, curled it slightly, and then slowly lowered it.
Chi Yuan asked softly, “What about the third one?”
Shen Qingci shook her head. “The third one will be owed for now. I'll collect it when Senior Sister comes out of the Sword Tomb.”
She reached out, looking directly into Chi Yuan's eyes. “A-Ci will wait for Senior Sister to return. It doesn't matter how long. But Senior Sister must remember that someone is waiting for you at home. No matter what kind of danger you face, you must come out safe and sound.”
Chi Yuan grasped her hand. “Alright!”
Shen Qingci snuggled into her senior sister's embrace, burying her face in her neck, and said in a muffled voice, “We sleep like this tonight. You're not allowed to leave.”
Chi Yuan wrapped her arms around her waist, resting her chin on the crown of her head. The spiritual lamp was extinguished, leaving only a sliver of moonlight filtering into the main room from outside the window.
Nestled in her senior sister's arms, Shen Qingci's nose was filled with the fresh fragrance of the night-closing flowers. She closed her eyes, tightening her embrace around her senior sister's waist.
After a long silence, Chi Yuan suddenly spoke, her light voice blending into the night. “A-Ci, when I enter the Sword Tomb next month, you don't need to come see me off.”
Shen Qingci opened her eyes and tilted her head. “Why?”
A faint blush rose on the tips of Chi Yuan's ears, her fingertips brushing through the stray hairs on her forehead. “Consider it tonight's punishment. I told you not to bite, yet you insisted on nibbling until it was all wet.”
Only now did Shen Qingci realize in hindsight that while she had been lost in the moment earlier, she had been suckling on her senior sister's breast for a long time, which must have soaked through a large part of the fabric.
She shrank her neck guiltily, but she still refused to back down verbally, muttering softly, “You didn't stop me either.”
Chi Yuan did not reply, her gaze calmly sweeping toward the low stool beside the couch. Shen Qingci followed her gaze. Draped over the stool was the discarded plain white inner robe; the fabric over the chest was crumpled and still bore a few faint damp circles.
Her cheeks instantly burned. Throwing off the thin quilt, she rolled out of bed, scooped up the inner robe, held it tightly in her arms, and walked out barefoot. “I'm going to wash it clean. We absolutely can't let Qinghe and the others see this!”
Leaning against the couch, Chi Yuan watched her junior sister sneak out of the main room like a thief, the corners of her lips curving up slightly.
Before long, Shen Qingci returned.
She climbed back onto the couch and burrowed into Chi Yuan's embrace, burying her face in her senior sister's shoulder as she mumbled, “It's washed clean. Qinghe won't see it.”
Chi Yuan gave an soft hum.
“Senior Sister~”
“Mmh.”
“Is there a transmission array set up in the Sword Tomb? If we have no news for five years, I won't be able to bear it.”
“There is none.”
