Chapter 36 · Volume 1

Found

As she walked, Solana clutched her head, feeling a slight headache.
She was being influenced again.
What on earth was going on with those magic stones? Ever since she saw them in the last loop, they had been constantly influencing her, eroding her sanity.
And her past seemed to be connected to those magic stones as well...
Sigh, I'll ask Theresa about it later. She should know something...
Then, she took out the blood vial again and looked up at it.
“So this is the medium they use to cast their spell...” Solana thought to herself. “Is this the blood of that blood cultist?”
It was indeed difficult for Solana to tell exactly whose blood was in the vial, but regardless, it had to be related to that blood cultist...
“Whatever, I'll go get a divination first.”
Following a muddy path for about twenty minutes, she found the divination shop in the black market. Since it was still the early hours of the morning, the door was tightly shut.
Knock, knock, knock!
Solana stepped forward and knocked on the door of the divination shop.
“Who is it? Coming, coming...”
As soon as John opened the door, he saw a black-haired, black-eyed girl. She spoke timidly:
“Um... Uncle... I'm back...”
Upon seeing her, the corner of John's mouth twitched slightly.
Thud! The door was slammed shut again.
“Whew... I must have seen things. How could I run into that person again...”
John tried his best to calm his racing heart, repeatedly telling himself it was just an illusion. But on second thought, he felt uneasy:
“No, I'd better check again.”
Taking a deep breath, he pulled the door open once more.
He saw that the previously timid girl now had a strange, eerie smile playing on her lips, and her eyes were as crimson as blood!
At this moment, the girl was clutching a ball of fire in her hand, smiling as she said:
“Uncle, you wouldn't want your divination shop to just disappear like this, would you?”
At this sight, John retreated several steps in fear, almost losing his footing and falling to the ground.
It really was that harbinger of doom...
Why had she become even more terrifying this time?
I must have had the worst luck in eight lifetimes!
He hastily stepped aside to clear a path, bowing his head to apologize:
“My apologies, Milady. My old eyes were playing tricks on me just now. Please come in... please come in...”
Solana walked in with her hands behind her back, completely different from her timid reaction just a moment ago, as if she were an entirely different person.
John didn't dare to ask any questions. He quickly walked over to the counter, wiped away his cold sweat, and said:
“Milady... what would you like to divine today...?”
“Today...”
Solana smiled slightly. She pulled a glass bottle filled with blood from her pocket and tossed it onto the table.
Clack!
Then, she played with the flames dancing at her fingertips and said nonchalantly:
“Help me divine the owner of this blood.”
“Right away, right away. It will be ready shortly, Milady. Please wait a moment.” John tremblingly took the glass bottle, not daring to show the slightest neglect toward the person before him.
About fifteen minutes later, John emerged from the divination room, his face pale as he said:
“Alright, I've found him. The owner of this blood is named Winster Claire. This should be his blood, but his current location is moving...”
“Then where is he going...?” Solana followed up.
“In about a few minutes, he should be inside the Old Oak Tavern. As for the exact time, I couldn't divine it clearly...” John said.
“I see...”
Since he can be divined, he must be a Rank Two Beyonder... Solana lowered her eyelids thoughtfully. Then, she gave a sly smile and leaned closer to John, saying:
“Thank you so much! I won't burn down your divination shop this time!”
John was nearly frightened out of his wits by her sudden move and hastily waved his hands:
“It's fine, it's fine. It's only my duty, only my duty...”
Could she have a split personality? Or is she schizophrenic?
But such things were normal in their world. High-level figures all had some sort of mental or physical issues to some degree.
Thinking of this, his emotions calmed down slightly. At this moment, he recalled the matter regarding the underground exchange from before and suddenly asked:
“By the way, Milady, may I ask if you were the one behind the incident at the underground exchange last time?”
“Oh? Why do you ask? Do you want to experience it too?” Solana teased.
“Oh, no, no! Milady, you are wise, divine, and all-knowing... How would I dare...”
“Alright, alright...” Solana waved her hand, cutting him off.
She tidied her robes slightly and walked to the door, preparing to leave.
Just then, she suddenly thought of something. Turning her head slightly, she locked her crimson eyes onto John and said:
“I hope that the next time I come, I will see that your door no longer exists.”
“Of course, of course...” John replied, wiping away his cold sweat.
“Well then... goodbye...”
Solana's eyes quickly returned to normal as she pushed open the door and stepped out.
Thud!
As the sound of the door closing echoed, John instantly collapsed into his chair, looking as if all his strength had been drained. He muttered to himself:
“This girl... why is her behavior so different from last time? It's like she's a completely different person...”
...
After leaving the divination shop and walking for some time, Solana estimated that the current time was roughly before her previous visit, right when Winster should be there...
Joyfully carrying her newly acquired information, Solana ran along the soft dirt road all the way to the front of the Old Oak Tavern.
Taking a deep breath, she happily pushed the door open and shouted inside:
“Winster Claire, I've come for you!”
However, the tavern was dead silent...
Solana looked around in confusion, only to find...
Inside the Old Oak Tavern, bodies were already lying scattered across the floor in large numbers. Massive amounts of blood seeped from their chests, and the crimson liquid spread across the floorboards, pooling together.
The mass death incident had happened again...
